looking for advice : 401K @ 59 yrs old

My company is starting a 401K plan, and I'm 59 years old. I get the whole "no tax up front, taxed when you withdraw" concept but here's the question - do I max out and ride it for 6-8 years or do I just pay my insanely high income tax like I've been doing for years? (no dependas/no debt/no real deductions to speak of)

I can do trad 401k or Roth, or both. Employer will match some, but not all I put in.

I really have no idea about these things, so I'm hoping you money enthusiasts and smarter than me types can help a brotha out :)

is there a dependable calendar for MB and the GS?

is there a calendar somewhere I can see what's going on when, so I can avoid the undesirable events and masses? It seems I never know what's going on until it's happened and on the news.

Remembering the RX8 vs 350Z time in my life...

It was the fall of 2005, I was seeing 2 women (they didn't know it), one had a blue Rx8 and the other a black 350z convertible.

The RX8 was gorgeous, and out handled the Nissan, it also had a much nicer interior and overall once at speed was a much more enjoyable driver. The RX was an absolute blast to take mountain driving.

The 350Z was quicker and faster, and handled like a truck compared to the Mazda. The drop top was nice, however.

The high rev launch for the RX was a steep learning curve, as was the twice it left the owner stranded due to the starting without full warming up trick learned yet... it also drank a quart of oil every 700-1k miles.

The Mazda won every category except the ones that counted for a daily driver - stop and go traffic, and reliability. But my goodness... was that blue beast stunning to look at and a brilliant touring car.

Mazda should be sued for giving us such a great car design with such a POS engine. The 4 door sportscar was ahead of it's time. The 350z was hideous to look at, a bore to drive, and in no way inspired me.

But, 20 some years later.... that was a pretty good autumn ;)

TV viewing height - how did we go from floor to ceiling in 20 years?

My entire life up until about 15 years ago, the TV in the living room was on the floor. As in, a piece of furniture usually, but the bottom of the screen ranged from 6-18" off the floor I'd say. Then I went to a end table height stand with a 50" so the screen is then 36" off the floor. Now it's on the wall and about 5" off the floor, or should I go by the top and say it's 8' tall.

This revelation made me wonder about how our necks and eyes are doing, going from shoe gazers to star gazers.

I don't really have a point, but I do wonder what YOUR ideal viewing height is.
