[WTB] APSF IWC AMG Petronas Chronograph

The search continues for another APSF Petronas Chronograph. Unfortunately the last deal fell through as it was found out to be a TWS not APSF. If there is anyone out there looking to part with their IW388108 from APSF, please let me know. I’m based in USA — CONUS sellers preferred, if possible.

Is APSF slowly coming back?

I just read in a comment from Puretime that he’s able to place preorders for APSF APs. I asked whether it’s actually OCTA or if it’s APS, and he replied it’s APS Factory in DM. “May take a few weeks”. My first guess is it’s either old stock resurfacing and the wait it just waiting until that particular watch surfaces, but my denial has me hoping they’re making a comeback 🤞

Entry #6 or something raffle

Night shot of the DD40 Olive rose gold by THBF. Bracelet got funky so I put on a black alligator strap.

Entry #5 Wrist shot Raffle

Alright I’m sorry for the spam, but I just know I’m gonna forget to post if I don’t do it all now. Last one until later.

This is my 3CF 116520 white dial. Honestly one of the best feeling movements I have. At the beginning I thought I’d never like a Daytona, til one day I decided to give it a try. Now it’s one of my favorites.

Entry #4 Wrist shot raffle

It looks so big on these up-close shots 😭

Anyway, fun fact: this Q50S was developed by Redbull’s Sebastian Vettel back when he was the 4-time world champion as Infiniti’s director of performance. Thought it would be fitting to wear a Tag F1 x Redbull for this wrist shot.

Entry #3 Wrist shot

One of my absolute favorites, also one of the last APSF chronos to make it out before closure. It’s PPC brother unfortunately didn’t make it out 😭

Entry #1 Daily Wrist shot

Well I guess I’m entering late, since everyone is on their third entry, but better late than never I suppose.

Absolute shitter? Or wrong factory?

Dealer name: Non-TD

Factory name: ZF (Claimed)

Model name: IWC Portugieser Perpetual Calendar (IW503703)

Price Paid: 2990 CNY

Album Links: None provided.

Index alignment: Index grid provided directly from non-TD. Seems mostly straight, 6 may be canted slightly ccw.

Dial Printing: mostly fine, I feel the IWC logo may also be canted slightly CW

Date Wheel alignment/printing: looks fine.

Hand Alignment: Not enough pictures to tell imo.

Timegrapher numbers: Great, skeptical if they’re actually real.

Anything else you notice: A lot of the pictures seem to indicate the watch isn’t actually functional. For example: the second hand doesn’t seem to actually move between all the pictures. The only movement I see is when they overlay the index guide, the minute and hour hands move as well as the moonphase, but no movement second hand. On the timegrapher photo, I can see the second hand still stuck at the 60+/- 1s mark. I understand certain subdials are expected to not operate as intended, however the second hand not moving seems more shitter quality than “Z.F”.

My initial instinct was to assume this is a V9F watch—as I’ve seen this exact model being advertised by V9F sellers 1Y ago & reposted at RWF, and the seller just made a mistake stating which factory it came from, but now doubling down that it’s a Z.F watch, I’m not too sure I can trust them to sell me a watch. My only question is, is this as big of a red flag as I’m seeing, or am I just being too skeptical?

QC JLC Master Ultra Thin Perpetual

  1. Dealer name - EthanWatches
  2. Factory name - ZF(?)
  3. Model name - Master Ultra Thin Perpetual
  4. Price Paid - $370 shipped
  5. Album Link - https://www.wsxcme.com/weshop/goods/_diBqfB_6K0Fni6Viqy3qjRnYcVlHlv_RP68U2bQ/_dg7qfWb-JjW8s0jkdE2ia75sbqUR1qpugDdn1tQ
  6. Index alignment - Looks alright, 4 & 7 might be a hair off, but that could come down to alignment tool error/angle.
  7. Bezel - Looks good.
  8. Solid End Links (SEL) - No endlinks.
  9. Hand alignment - Probably fine.
  10. Dial Printing - No problems there.
  11. Timegrapher numbers - Numbers look perfect to me.
  12. Anything else you see - Nothing else.

Looks like an easy GL to me, but I'd rather be sure than regret not asking later. Thanks everyone.

QC Daytona 116520 White Dial

  1. Dealer name: PhoenixWatches
  2. Factory name: 3CF
  3. Model name (& version number): Daytona 116520 White Dial
  4. Price Paid: 554$ shipped
  5. Album Links: None given.
  6. Index alignment: All hour indices seem to be in good shape
  7. Dial Printing: DAYTONA is a bit misaligned with the chrono. The dial printing seems to be a bit jumbled and messy, (S is a hair above the rest, LATI is crowded, OFFI CI space, etc) but seems to be within spec for a 3CF dial(?) -- same as other QCs I've seen from 3CF.
  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: N/A
  9. Hand Alignment: Second hand in Chrono is maybe 1/5s advanced. Not sure if that's a problem.
  10. Bezel: Looks properly aligned and well engraved to me.
  11. Solid End Links (SELs): Looks straight and tight.
  12. Timegrapher numbers: Amplitude is low, I asked to fully wind and resend new numbers.
  13. Anything else you notice: Not much, just the dial printing and amplitude.

Hey everyone, I just received my QC photos and would appreciate some expert input on my assessment. Everything looks GL to me, aside from the timegrapher, but I would value a second opinion before proceeding. Thanks in advance for your time and help!

VSF V2 VS RCF DD40 Ice Blue Platinum

So I’m trying to decide between VSF V2 and RCF for a platinum Day-Date 40 (ice blue dial) and I keep ending up with mixed conclusions depending on who I ask.

From what I’ve gathered so far:

RCF’s main advantage seems to be weight and overall presence. The tungsten-style builds get closer to gen heft (around 210g+ vs VSF V2 sitting slightly lower in the 180g+ range), and some people say the bracelet and general “solidness” feels better on wrist. Others place RCF above VSF purely for the metal color accuracy, though I’ve also seen people rank it lower overall.

VSF V2 on the other hand seems stronger on the technical side. Movement reliability gets more praise, crystal clarity is often considered better out of the box, and dial execution (especially ice blue tone consistency) is usually rated higher. It also seems more consistent on details like the Twinlock crown marking, where platinum should have the single dot, while some RCF/QF/other batches incorrectly show two dots.

Where I’m still unsure is the stuff that actually matters day to day: dial color accuracy under different lighting, date and day wheel sharpness and alignment, and whether the bracelet feel difference is actually noticeable or just nitpicking. I also can’t tell if RCF’s weight advantage actually translates into a more gen-like experience or if it’s just something you notice briefly and then forget.

For platinum DD40 specifically, what would you pick and why? VSF V2, RCF, or something else entirely?

Also curious if anyone thinks stick, Roman, or diamond baguette makes the most sense for this case and dial combo.

[QC] Tag Heuer Formula One x GULF

Hey all, would appreciate a second set of eyes here since I’m still pretty new to QCing TAGs and don’t fully trust my own judgment yet.

  1. Dealer name: Hont
  2. Factory name: OF
  3. Model name (& version number): CAZ101AT.BA0842
  4. Price Paid: $278 w/ shipping & box
  5. Album Links: https://a202512172356311672002881.wgstores.com/weshop/goods/_dg3qfSLHhi777Jx0IFOnzgO9XyA6_5DC9m_7AfQ/_d-NqfaLaeQMhwXueEGb9lOMPS-im11RmLGerXPQ
  6. Index alignment: 9 & 10 are a tiny bit ccw, but likely the picture angle. Otherwise looks alright.
  7. Dial Printing: Pretty much perfect to my eye.
  8. Date Wheel alignment/printing: Maybe a hair to the left. Looks good.
  9. Hand Alignment: A microscopic hair to the left when reset to 12 (photo in replies/album). Doesn't really matter to me.
  10. Bezel: Only thing I noticed was the bezel maybe appearing slightly askew counterclockwise by around 1-2 degrees, though I’m not sure if that’s just angle/parallax from the photos.
  11. Solid End Links (SELs): n/a
  12. Timegrapher numbers: n/a
  13. Anything else you notice:

Would appreciate any thoughts. Thanks in advance.
