Rauchwolke Computing Modules Reactor Bug:

Anyone else also have this happen to them and maybe know a work around for it?

Inserting Energy Rods prompts the animation, but does not consume the Rod, nor give it energy. Because of this, I was only able to get 40 Computing Modules despite having more Black Boxes available to convert. This is the first time I've had this happen to me.

TLDR; Rauchwolke Factory Reactor for creating Computing Modules ran out of energy and could not be refilled.

Trampler Stuck - Please Add "Trampler Stuck" Fix Mechanic

Arc Raiders and some other games recognize when the player model is "stuck," which then prompts the user if they want help to relocate.

Obviously, different game means different requirements, but I've lost a couple tramplers to getting stuck. I've heard about Tramplers getting stuck more from other players.

----------------------------

------- Only happened to me twice. But I've heard about it from other players often enough to make this post: -------

Last night was only my 2nd time having a Trampler stuck, not a big deal when we still made over 250k in like 3 hours. Stuck ontop of one of the Rauchwolke docks. But, that fat Trampler we captured and got stuck, had a whoooole lotta armor plates and Engines on it. I wanted to extract with it, too! (Tried turning the reactor on/off, even rammed it with one of our other captured Tramplers, but it wouldn't budge, at all).

The real kick in the gonads happened just under 2 weeks ago, I lost a 6-man Storm to getting stuck, and there was Dreadnought, but very little to 0 competition left in the Storm! That stuck Trampler continues to live rent free in my memory as one of, if not, the most aggravating losses I've ever had in Sand.

---------------------

Otherwise? Losses to players, cheaters, dupers, teamers, Sophie servers just kind of roll off my back by the time I'm back at Lobby, and just re-gear up.

But a stuck Trampler? My sorry butt spent 30+ minutes on both Tramplers, breaking/fixing legs, turning trampler on/off, etc, hoping to get unstuck. Not as fun as losing due to an actual fight, or at least having my gear reimbursed when server takes a dump, lol.

Unpopular Opinion: The fact that so many players find Sand literally too difficult for various reasons makes me enjoy my success in Sand that much more.

The fact that so many players find Sand literally too difficult for various reasons makes me enjoy my success and social interactions in Sand that much more.

That said:

I've fought dupers, teamers, streamers, cheaters you name it. I still think I'm likely near, or well over >50% extraction rate (Sidenote: it'd be cool if they had player career stats). I don't mind the occasional unfair super boss scenario that causes me to lose, it's lead to some pretty wild adventures.

Dupers have occasionally become loot piñatas.

Teamers one time, turned out to be organically brand-new friends. I found this out because I knew the dude who killed me and stole my reactor from having played with him before so I messaged him afterwards on Discord. We ended up all playing together in 4-mans, etc, it was a blast.

For streamers, I got to fight MeepLT in 6-man and he was one of the few players that ever countered me so effectively on the ground that it changed my overall boarding technique in many ways (losing to him taught me stuff). When I watched the VOD, they legit *waited* for us to finish our fight before engaging, and he was super positive about our fight, saying he was happy for the challenge, etc. I was not happy to go KABOOM, but it truly stopped our Multi-Trampler kill streak that we're so used to having in 6-mans. Meep was STACKED.

Thanks to watching Ceremor (winner of the $10,000 Scorched Shell Showdown Sand tournament), I've been using proximity voice chat more, role playing as a pirate as C often does (Push-to-Talk is C, by the way). Although, I would say I'm a few degrees nicer than them. I've even joined crews as a 7th-man by role playing as a pirate for hire in need of a new trampler (sometimes literally moments after they just blew me/or my team's trampler up).

Cheaters? Well... They're the worst of the bunch, often with inflammatory proxy chat ready to go with verbal proof of their depravity. However, I've dealt with this in enough games to laugh off the bad encounters, and focus on the fact that I've otherwise been very lucky loot/progress-wise.

------------------------------

TLDR; Many of my losses have led to some pretty memorable adventures. I think because I've been lucky enough to find success amidst downright horrendous odds, it makes enjoying this game all the sweeter, especially when I use proxy chat. (Enjoy the Press Kit Art)

The fact that so many players find Sand literally too difficult to play for various reasons makes me enjoy my success and social interactions in Sand that much more.

P.S. - I hope Sand's developers fix what they gotta fix. There's a long list. Meanwhile, enjoy the attached images from the Press Kit Art. If you look closely, you can see a lot of Trampler tech we don't have yet! Hopefully it's images of what they plan to achieve. We'll see if/when they're able to get to it.

[Self-Promotion] Big steampunk fan, so I made the ultimate heavy cannon prop: The Tesla Cannon! Spinning center piece, some lights and no additional gears (I hope it still qualifies as steampunk).

Its made of brass, some aluminium (too reduce weight at least a tiny bit) and wood. The base is one of those deco flintlocks our grand dads had on their walls. Added a ton of parts, and copper wire and almost a real tesla coil (not convetion proof). Its super heavy, almost 18 pounds.

Super Easy way for Sand to remove many Cheaters: Valve Anti-Cheat

Steam accounts with Valve Anti-Cheat bans on record should either be strictly monitored for already being reported for violations, or simply not allowed to play at all.

Unless there's something terrible about limiting players with VAC bans? Many of them have a history of cheating, clearly outlined. Let them play if need be, but monitor the &#$!@ out of them.

--------------

Valve Anti-Cheat has already done a lot of the leg work and would at least increase the barrier to entry for cheaters. Majority of the times something fishy happens, if I or friends check their VAC status, there's often multiple bans. My buddy showed me this while explaining why he tends to prefer games that use VAC status because the experience is often much better. Not 0 cheaters, but better.

--------------

Otherwise, less easy: monitor players who exceed the usual limits, simply quietly flag for review and use actual people to moderate it. The investment towards banning cheaters literally just makes the game more money as cheater re-buy copies anyway.

I need to take a break from this game, man

Using my turn signal to merge lanes now uncontrollably makes me feel like I'm crabwalking left or right.
