9:30 Club Setlist🧡

Ended up being front rail, stage left for their 9:30 Club show on 7/25. It was the weekend before my birthday, I was on a few substances (🌲🍄‍🟫🍻) and had a hell of a time that night hearing and watching them play. This was my third time seeing a show of theirs, all have been in DC. Took a few videos as well that I’ll post later. The concert pic was an accidental one after I stopped taking a video, but it suits the vibe of the evening. One of my favorite bands to ever see live, I’ll go every time they’re playing a show in the area.

Ended up getting a setlist from Matt, their drummer, after the show. Talked to him for a few minutes as well and shook hands, a solid dude! ✌️🧡

The Only Picture Of The Band That I Took At The Allianz Amp Show

Turned out to be a good one, perfect vibe during the final song of the night and I tried to capture that moment as best as I could. As I said before in my previous post in this subreddit, what an awesome night that was. It’s really exciting to see how amazing all of their shows have been during this leg of the Reality Awaits tour. 🧡⚡️

What An Amazing Show at Allianz Amphitheater 🧡🧡⚡️

My wife and I drove, for what turned out to be nearly five and a half hours from southern PA to Richmond, VA (big thanks to the never ending I-95 traffic), to get to our parking spot and walk over to Allianz Amphitheater. We felt extremely lucky that they held off on opening the gates until 6:30pm, or we may not have gotten a decent spot in the GA pit.

This was a perfect venue to watch these guys perform a show. Small, intimate, and full of song choice surprises. The sound was great all night, Hamilton Leithauser and his band were an amazing opening act, and the lighting production was unreal that night. Easily one of the best concerts that I’ve ever attended, now we just want to see them again during this tour! 🧡🧡

That Vibe During “Place in the Sun”

Decided to spin “Calico Review” today on the turntable, I enjoy the hell out of this one from their catalog the more that l listen to it. That vibe at the end of “Place in the Sun” feels unmatched to me. Feels like you’re laying on the beach in the late afternoon, eyes closed, without a care in the world. I love that.🌞🧡

The Sawmills Studios Sessions (“Definitely Maybe” 30th Anniversary Vinyl Box Set)

After listening to the four records in the "Definitely
Maybe" 30th anniversary boxset within these past few days, I have to say that the Sawmills Studios outtakes feels and sounds better than the actual album. Included in the set is the band running through seven of their debut record's songs live in the studio, without overdubs. Tracked and mixed to tape. It's insane how good of a live band Oasis was when they first started out, and they’re still killing it. Genius move to have Mark Coyle, their live engineer, to man the helm during those recording sessions.

An awesome example of this being the version of “Columbia” that was recorded that day. 🧡⚡️

My listening space, more zoomed out.

Record shelves that are anchored to the wall behind them, flanking the TV stand. Sectional couch for seating, stereo to my left while seated but I have the option to face it by sitting in the L portion of the couch and let the music play. Record playing is the same as my previous post in this group, 2022’s “Decide” by Djo.💙

“I adore youuu” (x5)

Love this outro, full on creativity within this entire song. Leads perfectly to this ending segment, where the production kicks things into hi-gear. What a great record. 🔥⚡️

Decide, Vinyl (First time I’ve spun this one 💙)

Love this record so far, we all do! Window a/c is on, but this album is still sounding amazing in my living room. I now have a copy of each of his main albums, “Decide” was the most recent one that I’ve bought. Need to listen to more soon!✌️💙

Another one from listening to D’Angelo’s “Voodoo” yesterday.

Love his “Voodoo” album, this was the first time that I listened to this album on vinyl. I bought it a few months ago but didn’t have the chance to listen until yesterday, ran it through my cleaning rig a while ago and was waiting for the right moment to give it a spin. If you’re able to listen to this video on some decent headphones, you’ll notice how good the bass sounds from this record. Those 12” 123A-1 woofers in these 1970 L100 Centuries (inline driver alignment) sound damn good. 🧡

D’Angelo-Clip of “Send It On” from his album “Voodoo” (2024 repressing)

One of the last examples of “They don’t make albums like they used to,” channeling the best examples of soul artists before him, D’Angelo and all involved created something amazing and timeless from recording sessions (spanning 2-3 years) at Electric Lady.

This is a newly acquired “grail” of mine, it was my first time hearing this album from the vinyl format this evening and it does not disappoint a single bit. Highly recommend to anyone who wants to add more soul records to their collection, even if they haven’t listened to D’Angelo before. He is a one of a kind artist that should never be forgotten. ✌️🧡
