I'm trying to make myself a GTA 3 CD for my dreamcast. I followed the instructions on the website but it gave me this error upon build
make: *** [Makefile:313: ../vendor/librw/src/dc/rwdc.texconv.o] Error 1
Sometimes I forget that I'm playing Gran Turismo 4 and not 5 lol
I ordered a laser replacement because my ps2 won't read CD-Rs (neither my custom Music CDs nor PS1 backups) and struggles when loading some legit PS1 discs
I found [this video tutorial](https://youtu.be/xu\\\_x3w0sV1Q) on replacing it, and the guy mentions to remove anti-static solder joints (the ebay listing mentioned this too. I don't have an iron so I'll use snips). I see the 2 joints on the bottom he removes in the video but I see extra ones that aren't on either the guy's old nor new laser, and I'm not sure if I'm supposed to remove those as well
When I try to change region, none of the dex configurations show up, just "keep current patch", "restore factory defaults", and "install force unlock"
I did a wipe and reinstall of Free McBoot because I want to try out Mechapwn, which according to the guide I looked up, needs a mult-region install in order to work
but my HDD games list is empty. I have the latest version of OPL which added ExFat support. Trying to enable BDM. HDD won't show up on block devices either when I go into settings
posting this here because the main PS2 sub doesn't allow mention of piracy
I have a 5000 fat connected to a CRT, which, without a modchip, cannot play PS1 backups or imports. I want to play a burned copy a klonoa because it's expensive and I can't afford it PS1 backups, romhacks, as well as imported games from Japan
Here are my options:
Probably the cheapest option, but I have no soldering skills, and it's not a soldering job for beginners afaik. I don't know anyone that can install it for me either (which probably would be more expensive anyway)
I could replace my 5000 fat for 1 3000 one and sell my 5000 on eBay to make some money back. I will have to get another memory card to use the exploit. I also will have to get a dongle to keep using my PS2 DVD remote.
I could get a PS1 in addition to my PS2. Either a slim which is cheaper and saves space, or a fat with a parallel port so I can mess with Game shark. I have 6 consoles connected to my CRT via 2 switchers using S-video, but I can just unplug my video cable from my PS2 to my PS1 whenever I'm using the latter. Will be more expensive if I'm adding a console rather than replacing it
So, what do you think I should do?
Will the Ps3 recognize it? I don't have a PocketStation so I can't test it
