Carrying the weight alone. How do you keep your composure when the stress hits from all sides?

I’m just writing this here because, as a father, I don't really have anyone in my day-to-day life to talk to about this. I know a lot of you probably relate to the feeling of fighting daily battles in silence.

Right now, the financial stress is hitting hard. Challenges with bills, trying to keep my head down, keep working, and constantly finding new ways to provide. I'm doing everything I can to keep it together. But what makes it harder is that when the stress really starts kicking in, the people around me don't exactly help ease the tension. If anything, it feels like the pressure increases from all angles.

I know my job is to be the rock and keep my composure for the family, but man, it gets exhausting when you're absorbing all the impact and have nowhere to let it out.

Just wanted to share this with some guys who get it. How do you keep your cool and stay grounded when you're stressed to the limit and feel like you're carrying the ship alone?

What’s the funniest answer to a job interview question that you will never forget?

This happened during a panel interview, and I still can't believe I actually said it.

Out of nowhere, the interviewer looks at me and asks: "Who is your favorite Hollywood celebrity and why?"

My mind instantly went completely blank. Out of all the actual human actors and celebrities on the planet, my brain fried, and I confidently blurted out: "Batman."

The other applicants just stared at me, visibly biting their lips trying not to laugh. But the worst part? Because I had already committed to it, I stayed incredibly confident and doubled down. I literally stood my ground and defended my answer, explaining why Batman counts as a celebrity.

Well, plot twist: I actually end up getting the job!

I guess the Batman answer completely shook the panel and caught their attention. They probably remembered me as "the Batman applicant" during the hiring deliberations hahahah.

What’s the wildest or funniest thing you’ve ever heard (or said) in an interview?

First time in Cape Town! If you were new to the Mother City, what’s the absolute first thing you’d recommend visiting?

I’m visiting Cape Town for the first time soon and I’m super excited, but honestly a bit overwhelmed by how much there is to do!

If you were a newcomer all over again, what is the absolute first place, viewpoint, or experience you’d recommend to get a real feel for the city? I love great scenery and good food, and I just want my first day to be unforgettable.

Working 12 hours a day to make ends meet, but I still feel like I'm failing. Is it selfish to just want to feel appreciated?

I’m in a really heavy place right now and just need to vent, and maybe get some perspective from guys who have been in the trenches.

I am working 12 hours a day doing everything I can to make ends meet every single month. I am exhausting myself to keep us afloat. But despite all that work, I still carry this constant, crushing feeling that I am not doing my best or that I'm somehow failing them.

The hardest part is the disconnect at home. I’ve tried talking to my family, especially my wife, but it feels like it’s just not enough for them to truly understand the weight of what I'm carrying. I come home exhausted, and instead of feeling like I'm stepping into a safe haven, I feel isolated.

Is it selfish of me to just want to feel loved and appreciated at some point? I don't care about material gifts or grand gestures. I just want simple care: a hug, a genuine "thank you for working so hard," or just feeling like my effort matters to them.

How do you guys cope when you're giving 100% of your energy to provider mode, but feel completely empty on emotional support? How do I get my wife to see that I’m drowning and just need a little bit of care?

Thanks for listening.

What is the one childhood snack, sweet, or meal that instantly reminds you of growing up in SA?

I’m feeling a bit nostalgic today. Growing up, there were always those specific local treats that defined certain eras or school days (like specific chips, fizzers, Chappies, or something your family made).

What is that one specific snack, drink, or comfort food that instantly teleports you back to your childhood the moment you taste or think about it? Let's hear your favorites!

Is experimenting with AI considered a hobby?

I’ve been spending a significant amount of my free time lately diving into AI tools not for work, but just out of genuine curiosity. I’ve been having a lot of fun on automation and some digital arts.

I find the learning curve really engaging. It feels like a unique mix of technical skill and creative experimentation. However, I’m curious about the community's take: do you consider "AI hobbyism" a legitimate hobby in the same vein as digital art or coding? Or do people generally see it more as just using a tool?

I’d love to hear if anyone else here spends their downtime tinkering with these systems just for the fun of it!

I’ve been looking for a way to add a systematic "confirmation" layer to my current strategy. I came across the signal dashboard on FXLeaders (https://www.fxleaders.com/forex-signals/) and I'm interested in how they structure their trades.

Specifically, I’m looking at their "Active" signals. They seem to provide clear entry, TP, and SL, but I’m curious about the underlying strategy logic.

A few things I’m trying to figure out before I put this on a demo account:

  1. Risk-to-Reward: For those who have tracked these, is the R:R consistently 1:2 or better, or do they tend to have wide stops?
  2. Signal Frequency: How often are these updated? Is it viable for a swing trader, or is it strictly day-trading/scalping?
  3. Price Lag: Is the entry price usually attainable by the time the signal hits the dashboard, or is the move usually half-over?

If anyone has backtested their recent "High" or "Medium" reliability signals, I’d love to hear your data. I’m trying to see if the technical analysis they provide is a solid leading indicator or just a lagging reflection of what’s already on the chart.
