How to leave the car running?

Is there a way to have a Tesla like “dog mode” in the bz so I can just keep the car running? I tried doing it today but as soon as I stepped out of the car and went to lock it, it started screaming at me that the key fob wasn’t detected. I thought maybe it would work because when I opened the door with the car running, it gave me an option that the car would automatically shut off in an hour, so I pressed yes to confirm.

White paint mismatch

Anyone else bothered by the fact Toyota didn’t match the fender color on the white to the rest of the car? I kinda noticed it when we first bought it, but the longer I own the car the more it bothers me. I mean it’s too late now…I’m stuck with it. But still, pretty big miss on Toyota’s part and yet another goofy design decision.

Headlights go dim when using washing fluid?

Anyone know why when I go to use my washer fluid at night my headlights will get really dim? It only does it the first time I trigger them. But then I can use them again right away and headlights won’t do it. Never seen anything like this before having this car. 🫤

Plug n Charge update

Just an update on my Plug n Charge not enrolling. Just got a call from Toyota support this afternoon. They told me they reset the “HLC data” (not sure what that stands for) for my vehicle. They had me stay on the phone while I tried enrolling the PnC again and it finally worked! They said this is not a widespread issue and is vehicle vin specific. So if anyone is having this same issue, I would open a support ticket with Toyota support and mention this “HLC data” reset as a potential fix.

Pimento sandwich…something seemed different

The first time I had the honey pimento sandwich a few years ago, I thought it was one of the greatest things I ever tasted. I was excited when I saw it was back this past week. I went and ordered both a regular and a spicy. Sadly neither one gave me the same wow factor I remembered from the first time. The pimento cheese was incredibly runny. For some reason I remember it being thicker last time but maybe my memory is off. It just didn’t hit the same for some reason this time 🫤

Ibprofen…when do you say “screw it”?

I was told I have stage 3b last year. They told me I could no longer take Ibprofen. This has been pretty detrimental me as it’s always been the one otc I could count on to work. I have been good though and for almost a year I haven’t taken it. The other day I woke up to an acute case of elbow bursitis. My elbow is extremely puffy and red. I have been using ice packs, and Voltaren. I’ve been bearing the pain using some Tramadol pills my NP gave me for when I get the occasional kidney stone. She told me the Tramadol was ok with the kidney issue.

But this bursitis is not going away. I’m tempted to pop ibprofen to try and get the inflammation and swelling to go down. I’m leaving on a big family vacation in 2 days and I can’t be miserable like this. Is there really too much risk to do it for this occasion?

Looking for something like loft legs for attic space

Wanting to put flooring down in my attic here in the united states. I see these riser legs called Loft Legs but they only seem to be a thing in the UK. How come we don’t have something equivalent like this we can purchase at Home Depot here in the United States? I have a bunch of blown in insulation that I know you shouldn’t really compressed down so I need to find a way to build the floor over it. The riser legs looked like the easiest solution but I haven’t found anything like this in the United States.

BZ is everywhere in Paris!

Just got back from a trip to Paris and the Toyota BZ and CHR were everywhere! There was even a slick looking Toyota model driving around I haven’t seen here in the United States. Not sure which model it was. They are definitely much more popular in Europe than they seem to be here.

Lane tracing acting wonky

When I first got my 26 BZ I praised it for how well the lane tracing worked while on cruise control. I told everyone that the car practically drives itself. I just have to barely have a fingertip on the steering wheel and the car would follow the lane contours perfectly on the highway. The last several days I’ve had some scary encounters though, mostly when say an off ramp has appeared. Often these off ramps will still have lines on the road but they’ll be hashed instead of a solid line. A couple times in the last week the car will be tracing the highway fine and then I’ll come up to an off ramp and the BZ will steer hard to the right as if it was going to take the off-ramp. I’ve had to wrestle the car back to stay in the proper lane. Scary stuff. I don’t know why this seems to be happening more lately than I experienced when I first got the car.
