4hr Road Trip on Ninja 500 - Tips?

Hey all!

Just like the title says, I plan on taking a 4 hour day trip to Los Angeles later on this year (I don't have a set date yet) on my completely stock Ninja 500. I was planning on taking a weekend and just trying different restaurants and thought it'd be fun to make a motorcycle trip out of it. For context, I have less than 6 months of riding experience and only have this bike and a 2002 Honda Shadow that isn't running at the moment.

Anyone have any tips and tricks? Gear I should buy? Maybe I'm overestimating what my skill level can handle? Maybe some food spots to add to my list?

Thanks in advance! :)

Task Management Advice

Hey all,

I'm back again, this time seeking some general advice. For the last few months, I've been overwhelmed with the lack of organization and task management in my work life. I'm one of just a tiny handful of senior airmen in a shop heavily populated with junior enlisted 3-levels, as well as being the president of the booster club, while also being a CRO. It seems I'm always being pulled aside and asked to do something while in the middle of something else.

A lot of the tasks being given to me are presented as if they are high priority, or time-sensitive, and they're being given by various different people in my work center. A lot times these tasks aren't being presented in that way, but the sheer number of little things being asked can be a lot, and I end up making a little progress on a lot of things, but none of them get done.

There isn't a lot of support in my work center to catch up with booster club related things during the duty day or while I'm expected to be working on work-related things (but there's always something work-related that needs to be done, and I'm specifically expected to do amongst multiple airmen), which then makes it more difficult to stay organized in that extracurricular duty and puts a lot of strain on the other members.

I haven't really had to deal with this before, since there's always been a plentiful amount of NCOs to help keep things organized and to delegate, but our work center is mostly E-4 mafia at this time, and the mafia is pretty small. My work days feel chaotic, busy, and yet nothing I wanted to get done or was asked to get done is ever completed, and I think the people who tasked me with those things end up thinking I'm lazy, irresponsible, or simply not resilient enough to deal with it.

I want some advice or tools/tips on staying organized and making meaningful progress on the several and seemingly endless requests I'm given, because I'm mostly just building resentment for my coworkers since they work days seem a lot more carefree than mine (I obviously don't know for sure if it is or isn't, but I'm always wondering "Why am I the first person they go to for questions/tasks?")

Sorry for the wall. Partially venting, mostly seeking advice!

TLDR; Need advice for task management or setting polite and professional boundaries with my time when being asked to do multiple things by multiple people.

Carb Rebuild Kit Differences

https://preview.redd.it/x0myr6hro03h1.png?width=590&format=png&auto=webp&s=f8132cb98be50165a948136a58264373129518f1

2002 Honda Shadow Spirit dies when the choke goes in or if I add any throttle, and if it does run, it feels sluggish and sputters. I think it's the carbs and I want to attempt to clean and rebuild them on my own before giving it to a mechanic. A lot of videos skip the carburetor removal/installation and go straight to the cleaning, so it's a little daunting lol.

With that in mind, is there a real difference between a $10 carb kit and a $100 one? I already purchased the cheaper one, but I don't want to do all the work of removing and reinstalling the carbs if what I'm putting in there is garbage or something

Any insight is appreciated!

Is this a good deal?

Budget: ~$1200
Country: USA
Use Case: Gaming
Preferred Specs: The best bang for buck given the budget
Notes: Will mostly be docked/clamshell for TV in another room. Not my main gaming device.

Private seller is selling their HP Omen in order to buy parts for a desktop and has had it for a year. He's selling for $1000. I already own a desktop with a 5070, but I want something I can keep docked to my TV in another room for single-player games I can play at high settings, and something I can take with me on deployments and trips back home.

This won't be my main device and will mostly be sitting while docked/clamshell. I don't want a Steam Deck since I think it's too heavy and large to be super portable, and not enough power to handle the games I want to play at the settings I want to play them at.

Thoughts?
