Young Davey - Mick Jones similarity

My job always has a radio playing all the time, but whenever I hear Should I Stay Or Should I Go, I always think of how young Davey used to sound like him. Then I always put on Very Proud of Ya afterwards lol.

In my opinion.

DU 20th anniversary cap

For those who wear caps and bought this one, what did you think of the quality? I got it and have had "ehh" feelings towards it. The quality isn't that great and it sinks in when you set it down, like so. They shipped in a little baggy and I was like "uhh why?", and I saw it and was also "oh, I see". I thought it was gonna be a good quality snapback cap like the one on the right, but it doesn't feel like it. $41 after shipping 😅🫤 and its a bit smaller than shown in this photo

Advice for calling out sick

I was wondering if I can get in trouble. So, i picked up an extra shift for another employee because they can't make it tomorrow. Literally after closing, I started feeling terribly sick and at the ER right now. Dr said it could be a virus and I'm definitely coming down with something, so I don't want to risk getting anyone else sick. Can I get in trouble for standing them up on that shift?

Daily Table - one year later

Former Daily Table employee here from the central square location. I was wondering, how are people holding up a year later after the closing? I know the economy and inflation has gotten worse since then, and I know how expensive shopping elsewhere has been too. For me, it's been a little rough, but hanging in there. Managing.

How has it affected you personally? When we closed last year, I felt bad for the community and those who depended on the prices of the store. I got to know an old man who'd pop in once every week or so, and he was nice and a bit soft spoken. It was sad to see on the last day him walking around the store, looking at our barren food shelves, with tears in his eyes, with his hands behind his back. He didn't buy anything, of course, but I haven't been able to forget that. Another regular customer came in the same day, unaware of the closing. I told her why the shelves were empty and she got upset and basically snapped at me, asking "so how am I supposed to afford groceries now?".

I did hear from the now FORMER CEO, something exciting. She told me she'd like to bring something similar back to the community and that she's looking, talking around about what she can do to get it going again. So, hopefully something 🤞

Take care.

Obsidian Elder Scrolls games pitch denied

Definitely not news to lots of people, I'll never not let people forget that Bethesda declined multiple TES games pitched by Obsidian. If they had approved them, fans wouldn't be so angry and feel abandoned, maybe even hold us over until the next official title.

Where would you have liked to have seen the spin-off take place? I'd love to to have seen it take place somewhere on the Akavir continent; leaving Tamriel to the main titled games.

Thoughts?

Thermal paste cost?

I have the Razer Blade 15 Advanced (early 2021) gaming laptop (RTX 3070).

Lately, my laptop has been getting too hot after about an hour and a half. I play 7 Days to Die online with gf at 1440p resolution, and my CPU temps will get to 85-90°C and GPU temps at almost the same. The past couple days, I'll play Fallout 4 for about 45 minutes, and my laptop will stop charging in the middle of it, even when its plugged in. I'll work again if I let it cool for a little while.

What could be the issue? I upgraded my RAM to 32GB last week thinking that'll do it , but it still heats up. I actually HAVE NOT ever applied any thermal paste since I got it used online, in 2021. Maybe thats it?

Thank you 💻

Looking to transfer

Looking to transfer to a couple stores in my area that offer full-time. I used the internal application system to apply for a different store, but when I use it again for a different store than the one I applied for, I just get a Sage pop-up that says thanks for your application, or whatever.

Can we not apply to multiple locations at once? I asked leadership at my store and they only said I should be able to. But clearly not...
