Electrical or Computer Engineering?

As the title suggests, should I do electrical or computer engineering? I am more interested by computer engineering but I see people say to go into a more broad major like EE, so should I do that instead or stick with CE?

Transfer in Spring or wait?

I am from a college town with a very big state school and lots of my hometown friends stayed there while I decided to go out of state to another large state school around 7 hours away. The problem is that all of high school I said I wanted to leave and go out of state, go somewhere with better weather, be on my own, etc., but by the time college decisions started rolling around I started to realize that I didn’t want to leave but I had already made this my whole thing about college and I felt very pressured to go through with it so now I am here.

I know it is still like the first month but I am not very happy here and I call my hometown friends all the time and feel like I’m missing out and they all tell me to transfer back home and that we can dorm together next semester or get an apartment together and I’ve been seriously considering it. The school I am at now is only slightly more expensive then my hometowns, both are about equal for my major, around the same size, one is an SEC and the other is ACC, essentially just different versions of each other. I am very confident I could get accepted as a transfer into my major whenever I wanted so my question is should I transfer out after this semester and enter in the spring or wait it out a full year to make sure this is what I want? I lowk just feel really embarrassed and shameful coming back home and don’t want to tell people, especially if I come back after only one semester, but I just think I would be so much happier there than here.

High school stats

I am currently a freshman at FSU and trying for a 4.0 this year and wanting to transfer out. I am pursuing finance so really I am aiming for target schools and some ivys. My main concern is my high school gpa, I was not locked in during high school and did not really care about grades until it was too late and ended up with a 3.5. My rigor was still the highest I could go, I earned an IB diploma, 33 act but I am going to retake for hopefully a 35 because I just need a better math, and not a ton of clubs/ecs in high school but I’m going to do better in college.

Is my lack of competitive stats as a high schooler going to be a serious problem for transferring as someone who wants to enter as a sophomore at a new school or is it okay?

Transferring from state school vs CC

I’m a freshman at a large state school (FSU) and planning to transfer after this year, my concern is that top schools prefer transfers from CCs over traditional 4 years. Is this true? Should I be worried or I am chilling? Does my current school hinder my app in any way?

Micro and macro

I’ve never taken a micro or macro class in my life and am considering taking both classes this semester as a freshman along with calc 1 and some others. I think they are both just basic intro level (eco 2013 and eco 2023). Will I be fine or should I drop one for spring?

Freshman discovery programs

I am going into my freshman year this fall and I have heard that I should try to do a discovery program at a bank during my freshman summer. I am a white male so I don’t think I qualify for any of the diversity programs, but what other programs or internships should I apply for and when do I need to apply by? This is for summer 2027 btw.

Should I retake the ACT?

Going into freshman year and planning on transferring. 35 English, 35 reading, 35 science, and 30 math, 33 composite (would be 34 but they took out science). I want to be competitive and am unsure if I should take again for a higher math to try and raise my score.

Should I transfer?

I’m going into my freshman year this fall at a non-target state school and planning to major in finance. I want to break into high finance, but was unsure of what I wanted to do and not very locked in during high school. My stats were a 3.6uw gpa, 34 act, IB diploma, not much ecs, decent but I know I could do way better if I actually applied myself. Now I’m planning on going to a generic state school because it was the best of the schools I applied to and I know that I want to do finance and that I need to actually try my best, get good grades, network, etc., but I’m worried that my school is both holding me back and not where I want to be. Would it be in my best interest to transfer to a better school or should I just stick with where I am? Is it even possible for someone like me to transfer to a target school or are the odds just against me? Any advice/tips would be greatly appreciated!
