What would be the best camera/equipment for me to buy for lightning photography?

(1) Budget, country, and currency:

Not a great budget, probably around $800 to $1000 max (USD).

(2) What equipment, if any, you have now and why is it no longer meeting your needs?

Current, I have a Brave 4 Ultra 4k and a Canon EOS Rebel T6i. The Canon only records at a max of 1080 with 30fps. The Brave can record at 4k at 30fps or 1080 at 60fps. I'm not really happy with the quality of either of these anymore, and want something that combines the good fps with 4k. I'm aware that that's not everything when it comes to cameras and equipment, so I'm totally open to hearing about other qualities of cameras that might help what I want to do.

(3) What kinds of subjects do you intend to shoot?

I love to film lightning, and then go frame-by-frame later and get good pictures of lightning. These are some of my better photos in the pictures above. The reason why I want higher quality is well, I want better quality pictures lol. The reason I want the higher fps is because lightning can be quick AF sometimes. If I'm only recording at 30fps, I can miss bolts entirely, or the only frames I get are ruined by the differences in brightness from the rolling shutter.

(4) Is it primarily for photography, videography, or both?

Videography thus far, but I have considered trying to actually photograph the lightning as well. I've heard of people doing some sort of "burst" shots (idk what it's called) where they setup the camera to take a ton of photos at once. If it's possible for me to do that with my Canon T6i, I'd like to know how since it's photo quality is actually quite great. The only problem with this is that I have to try and time my shots with the storm, and I hate missing out on good bolts of lightning as I only get so many chances to film. This is why I rely on video-ing the entire storm and going through the frames later.

Cat paused labor after only one stillborn kitten and is acting normal? Please read body text

Hi all! It's been a very long night. Just over a month ago, we took in a stray kitten from outside after we watched her being aggressively chased down by some large, clearly un-neutered males outside. She's been a wonderful kitten, super playful, definitely a lap cat, lots of personality. She gets along well enough with out other adult cats. This whole past month we've thought her belly looked a little too big and felt too tight, however. She did have a really bad worm infestation, and it took 3 rounds of different medications to finally clear those, so we dismissed the belly as just being worms. Fast forward to yesterday, and she was acting very strange. She was up in a bed with my mom and little brother, who were watching TV at the time, and was pacing and being MUCH more vocal than she usually is. The most concerning thing was that she was bleeding out of her rear end, so my dad and I rushed her to a 24/7 emergency vet. There, they did some poking and prodding, and finally did an ultrasound. Aaaaaaannd bam, turns out this mfing trojan cat was pregnant with 4 kittens. We didn't even consider pregnancy since she was so young. At her last vet visit on June 6th, the nurses estimated she was only 6-8 weeks old.

The nurses at the emergency vit did some more testing and tried to measure the heartbeats of the fetuses. She was only able to measure 2 of the 4, one was healthy at 200+, but the other was concerningly low at only 80. The nurse told us that the heartrate, plus the fact that she was already bleeding so much but had shown 0 signs of labor yet, meant they might have to c-section the babies. However, when they drew up the plan it turned out that that would have costed around $5800, and we absolutely did not have that money to just drop on a cat, especially after my dad had undergone a similarly expensive procedure himself only a week before. In the middle of all this, however, the cat started showing signs of pushing, so the nurse set her up a nest in one of the cages and we placed her in there, with a towel over the front for privacy. We left her there for around 2 hours, the nurses checking on her periodically. After 2 hours, however, she had only managed to push out half a sac and appeared to have stopped. The vets did a final check on her electrolyte levels, and my dad and I decided that it would be much cheaper for us to take her home and see if she could give birth naturally in a quieter environment that she was more familiar with.

While my dad and I were on our way home, my mom and brother set her up a nest of towels in a laundry basket in a quiet bathroom relatively secluded from the rest of the house. We set up a camera in there so we could check on her without disturbing her, and in about an hour, she had pushed out the remaining bit of that sac. She did her thing and cleaned it up, but after another hour of no more signs of pushing or labor, we went in to check on her. Unfortunately, the kitten she had managed to push out was very clearly stillborn and underdeveloped. We stayed up with here until around 1am, but she had very clearly stopped laboring. Fast forward to this morning, and she's even acting as her normal self, like nothing ever happened. She chatty, playful, running, and very much wants to get out of that bathroom. She's ready to run out of the door as soon as we open it. She's eaten, drank, and used the litterbox just fine. It's been nearly 10 hours since that first stillborn, and we know that there are still 3 left in her. My question is, what the hell do we do now?? Why has she stopped? Do we need to take her back to the vet? I have a horrible feeling that us bringing her into the vet with all that noise and stress in the first place may have messed something up. My mother is keen on just using chatGPT for questions about the kitten, which is making me extremely nervous. I'm really looking for some advice from some real people.

Estate sale haul

All the clocks, watches, and the radio are radium, verified with a radiacode. $73 total from 2 different sales. Estate sales are the way to go! I don't think I'm ever stepping foot in an antique store ever again

I know antique stores overpriced, indeed most items in the cabinet were over $100, but $20 for a tiny mason jar of broken UG?? 😭

How much will the world cup affect traffic?

I'm currently commuting into Tech for summer classes. I drive Monday through Thursday from Lilburn, NE of ATL. On good traffic days it's a 40 minute drive, but it can get up to an hour and 20 minutes during rush hour. How bad can I expect it to get with the world cup being hosted in ATL? I take I-85 in most days, if that changes anything

Insurance?

Hi all! I'm a 19y/o college student who has been collecting for a year. Unfortunately, due to me constantly moving around from dorm to home to other dorms, all my stuff has just been sitting in boxes. I finally found and purchased a good display case from a thrift store, and I'll be living in an actual apartment-style dorm room for 2 semesters come fall. This has given me the chance to finally display my favorite pieces of UG in a place I actually live. My question is, is there some kind of insurance I can get on my collection that I'll be displaying? I've checked with all my roommates and their totally fine with me having such a display in our shared space, and we're not the rowdy/partying type (there will almost never be other people over in our room). Nonetheless, keeping part of my collection in a glass display case in a college dorm room still makes me a tad nervous, as accidents happen, and I'd like it to be somewhat protected if that's even possible. Please educate me on how insurance works for this type of thing, if it even exists!

What pattern is this?

I found the cookie jar yesterday at an antique store, and then the teacup/plate today at an estate sale. They are definitely both the same pattern, got me interested in whether it was a common pattern or not
