Hair is WAY shorter than planned. Please help with tips!

Just got a ton of hair cut off yesterday (proud to donate it!) The stylist cut more than we agreed to and I’m a little upset, mostly because I have no idea how to style it now. (Not terribly upset bc it’s just hair and it’ll grow back). Most of the time I pull my hair back; work outdoors and have small kids. It’s too short for a regular ponytail now!

Please help, I’d love any low-maintenance styling tips! Fine, medium density, rarely holds a curl.

Balancing toddler and infant

I know how lucky I am that 3mo baby has really good night sleep. Naps are a huge struggle, as is to be expected at this age. My husband goes back to work this week, and I don’t know how I’m going to manage supervising my toddler while coaxing my 3mo to sleep. Currently we can only reliably contact nap, and have plans to nap train as soon as she is old enough.

Any suggestions for helping kangaroo baby nap in the exciting world of her older brother? She’s becoming more aware of things around her, but I can’t go into a dark room for an hour and leave my toddler unsupervised.

Dyson dryer tips?

Just received a Dyson dryer as a gift. I’m not very talented in the styling dept. Any advice on how to use or what to avoid? I have SUPER long (almost to my butt), medium density, fine hair.

Vinegar for silicone parts

Why didn’t I know about vinegar the first time around?! I know parts are clean/sanitized but the film left behind irks me. We have hard water, so stuff looks bad. But now I have a little cup of vinegar on the counter. The parts soak for a little bit and come out looking brand new after the wash!

Vertigo?

Anyone deal with vertigo? Toddler became frantic for a moment, saying the room is spinning, then perfectly fine after a minute. Also reported feeling like that while at daycare today.

I experience mild vertigo relatively often, so I know it’s unpleasant. Just wondering if anyone else has a kiddo who has experienced this, and any tips that helped?

She latched!!

Two feeds in a row and I haven’t used a pump since 11am! I was starting to accept the possibility that my milk would only be delivered to her via bottle, but she surprised me by nursing for two feeds so far today! 💕

Decreasing pump time

The Exclusive Pumping blog had a post about decreasing pump time. I tried all the things (massage, warmth, correct flange size, relaxing, being near baby, etc) and the thing that has cut my pump time in half without changing my output is increasing sunflower lecithin. Went from 1 to 3 caps per day and my pump sessions went from 30+ minutes to 15 minutes! At 8ppd that saves me almost 2 hours per day. Celebrating the small victories!

Are you changing your vacuum settings during each pump?

I just came across a “cheat sheet” for Spectra vacuum settings during each pump (to change the settings after a certain number of minutes of pumping. Is anyone doing this? Is it effective for you?

I was trying different speeds bc my sessions are taking SO long!
