Big go-round with customer support today.

This time they didn't fix it. I have a home Standard and RV Mini in separate accounts. App was open for the RV account but was pulling information and data from the home account. And saying there is no Starlink associated with this account. And giving me a 40Mbps speed test result on the Mini which isn't even powered up. And greyed out the Subscription line so I couldn't have taken it off Standby even if I wanted to. Total mess. All CS told me was to use two different devices to monitor the two different systems -- bogus...guess he had to say something. Turned out I simply logged out of the RV account which was messed up and logged right back into it. All problems gone. Typical computer fix -- reboot it.

Plan choices offered

Just finished a 12 month commitment on a Promo and I had to ticket CS to get any plans offered. Which they did. Was offered the full gamut of Roam and Residential plans...except Residential -200. Odd they would offer me -100 and MAX, but not the between plan. No problem, I wanted -100 anyway.

Confused over billing

I have an annual plan expiring. My wife has a by the gig monthly. Upon expiration if I drop my plan and join her pool it would appear on the USM website the billing goes from $10 to $18. But I'm told this is not correct. The second phone will only add $2 to the monthly (IE $12/mo) unless I need and pay for more data. Which is correct?

RV Exterior Latches

My camper outside storage hatches have cheapie 1/4 turn key latches that need maintenance. The chrome shields that swing down behind the slot no longer move so the keyhole stays open to dirt and bugs. A couple of them are sufficiently gummed up that the key doesn't go all the way in and can't or at least are very hard to unlock. I've been lubing them a few times a year with drying silicone spray. Probably a good lube, but not a good crud flusher. Suggestions?

Connecting Power Station to Mini

Can't confirm the dimensions but I suspect my Takki power station 12V-out has a 5.5mmx2.5mm male barrel panel connector. And my Mini, I think, has a 5.5mmx2.1mm female connector on each end. So I need a new cable or an adapter. This sound familiar to anyone?

What I know for sure is the pin I see down in the Takki hole is much bigger than the pin in the OE Mini AC adapter output hole.

False Advertising???

Starlink advertises a plan at say $55/month. If you sign up Jan 1 and make 12 monthly payments it does not provide service until the following Jan 1. This because a Starlink "month" is defined as 30 days. 30x12<365. Okay, no biggie, a rounding error, whatever. But surely a sharp lawyer could initiate a class action lawsuit worth millions. If you advertise $X per month you need to provide service for a month. Not your version of a month, unless you state so in the ad. No...I don't care. Just thought it interesting.

So Many Complaints...

...About the price increases, especially StandBy. Makes me wonder if all these people cancel like they say they're going to, if Starlink customer retention dept will start making offers.

I think they may at least try to hang onto MAX customers as that would be the biggest money maker. All the people paying $5/mo probably aren't a big loss.

Borrowing Question

I'm organizing for a vacation so preparing my Libby loans. I had a book expiring during my vacation, so borrowed another copy from a different library to extend the time. My intent was to return the first book, and someone was waiting. But there's now no sign of it on my shelf. I assume Libby removed the first loan when it provided the second. Which is perfect -- just checking.

Assume I have multiple holds on a book. First hold becomes available and I borrow, but limited to a short time with people waiting. Midway thru my short period the second hold becomes available with a longer time. I guess I could early-return the book I'm reading and now borrow the other. Any other choices make sense?
