I just paid off a TSP loan. I have 10k American Airlines Credit Union loan at 10 percent interest , 5 year term. I have a 26k car loan at 5.1 percent interest,. 11K in the bank as an emergency fund. My rent is $1550 a month, car payment $600 a month, car insurance $179 a month, phone and internet $70 a month and electric $100 a month. groceries $500 a month.
Do I get a new TSP loan (interest you essentially are paying back to yourself) like a 20K TSP to pay off the 10K AA loan, smaller credit card balances (3k)… or use the 20k for something else? Or not get a TSP loan at all and just keep paying interest on the AA loan and slowly pay it off. I already have $365,000 in the TSP already. Im 47 single , no kids, no house.
