Any good gaming clubs in or near Lincoln?

Ive heard that lincolnshire is a major hub of tabletop games and boxed games like cards against humanity. Im having trouble finding a gaming club that isnt uphill though. Does anyone know of any gaming groups in downhill lincoln or north Hykeham?

[Request a Build 1E] Conan the Adventurer

Hey folks. I'd like help making Conan the Adventurer from the tv show. My mates play 1st ed Pathfinder, so I'd like advice in building his profile. The request a build link doesn't work, so im posting this here.

In the show, Conan has a starmetal sword that he can wield in 1 or 2 hands. There are lizardfolk who use illusions to conceal their appearance, and when Conan hits them or their weapons, the starmetal dispels the illusion. The 2nd time he hits them, they are banished to another dimension.

He also has a small round shield, which contains a baby phoenix, who is used to provide additional info about a situation and isn't much use in a fight.

I've had a go at making him myself, using a bloodrager with improved familiar to access a fire mephit as a familiar. For skills, I've dumped points into knowledge for the mephit, and for Conan various survival and strength skills. For the sword, I've gone with a planar dispelling bastard sword.

It doesn't feel quite right, though. Does anyone have any advice on how to make him more accurate to the original character, or what skills he should have? Should I multiclass with bloodrager at level 1 to get the familiar, then a different type of barbarian to minimise magic?

Opr 40k hybrid

I've played lots of 40k and a year of opr, and i think my ideal game is somewhere between the two. I enjoyed the depth of 40k, but not the need to revise before a game, the looking up rules all the time or the slow pace. I enjoy the speed of opr, but not the reduced immersion, short ranges, and short turn length.

I've got a lot of experience in writing rules for 40k, and think the answer lies in writing some rules for opr to make it more like 40k. That way there's still the ability to create your own units. Im not seeing anything in the advanced rules that goes far enough.

This will be quite a major undertaking, but I think it'll be worth it. Before I get started, what rules or traits would you want in a hybrid version?

Log of reform policies

Im writing a report on the threat that Reform poses if it forms the next government. Ive got a list of negative policies that they will bring in, but ive found that some might have been u-turned on or amended since I started the log. E.g their original plan to slash public spending by £300-400bn might have been backtracked on later on, and their plan to tax childless women might have just been the view of one candidate.

Does anyone know of any up to date websites that keep track of reform's policies?

I've been enjoying opr for a few years, but i miss the bigger scale games on 8x4 tables for 6 turns. I also miss longer range artillery, fast biker units, more durable units and a bit more depth to my games.

Im not going back to 40k, or to any other game with 'i go you go' game mechanics. There are other faults with 40k but I won't go down that road.

Im wondering about what my options are. Are there any other games where you can create your own units and there is alternate unit activation, which makes good use of the space on a big table?

If not, I could make a conversion pack for opr. Would anyone be interested in playing with it?
