[us] [fr] Anyone’s transfers from yesterday go through?

Hi, I need a bit of support with a problem I have. I saw that there were some issues with transfers yesterday and I wasn’t aware it was a widespread issue. I transferred usd to euro no problem but when I sent the money to my French account it didn’t appear. Still waiting on it a day later. I have since sent a smaller sum to my French account and it showed up instantly. On the app it says I can’t get help for the issue until after May 22nd, which I get. But has anyone who had this issue had their funds show up in their account? Trying to get an idea of a timeframe or if I should just expect to reach out to revolut support in a few days.

What are the odds that a postcard sent from Madrid to Paris will arrive in a week?

I sent a bunch of postcards from Madrid to Paris, it’s not time sensitive just for fun but I read a lot about how long the correos take here in Spain… I was assuming it would be a week or two but now I’m scared.

Where to get a bocadillo de calameres?

It’s one of my last days in Madrid and I want to try some street food. I’ve seen the bocadillo de calameres and I’m curious as to if this is something worth trying here and if so where to try it? All of the Spanish food here looks good but since I don’t eat pork this seemed like a good option. Anything else I should try?

I’ve been learning French on and off for almost 13 years at this point. I took a huge break for about six years and have been back on these last few years as I’ve been visiting France and doing some work here. I’ve been in France for a few months and can say I’m comfortably a b2 and I’m really hoping to keep this level and improve when I’m back in the US. If you became fluent in French, what is it that got you from around a b1/b2 level to fluency?

So I went to Rome almost a month ago and bought a ton of postcards to send back home to family in the US and other parts of the EU. Along with this I bought stamps that were sold at the shops selling postcards, they were little stamps with pictures of Roman sites on them and the person selling them assured me they were international. I am just finding out that those might have been the wrong stamps and it’s apart of a sort of scam, but I’m not entirely sure because I didn’t closely examine the stamps. I took the postcards and mailed them from one of the red mailboxes (international side) outside a post office. Is there any chance my postcards will make it to their destinations? I know it’s not uncommon to take 6+ weeks from Italy but at this point I’m just hoping they’ll make it at some point.

So I’m 26 from the US, and just starting out with my career after I spent a year in France doing tapif. During this time it has become a dream to stay in France longer. I understand that it’s very difficult to find a job that is willing to sponsor your visa for work, and that it is already difficult for very qualified French people to find work. I’m curious as to what others experiences are, if you’ve managed to find a job in France. Is it worth giving it a shot if I’m not French and don’t even have a masters degree? Just looking to see what others have experienced. Please let me know what your experience has been.

I’m 26f who is just starting off (kind of a late start I understand). I know this is a loaded question and it’s not as easy to work in another country as just saying “I think I’ll find a job there”. But I’m trying to look for a career path that could potentially allow me to travel or (this is a big wish) move abroad one day? I’ve lived in France for a little less than a year on a long stay visa, but I’m originally from the US. My dream would be to come back to France or go to Latin America as I speak both French and Spanish. I understand this could be a longterm project but I’m open to looking into a lot of things.

Im 26f and I haven’t pursued a career as of right now. I have to clarify that I’ve ALWAYS had work. I made more than okay money in the service industry and now I’m working as a language teacher abroad. This current gig is temporary and I will be returning to my home country soon. I wanted to try teaching and I figured this would be a convenient and low risk way to spend time abroad. While I’m grateful for the experience, this is not what I want to do for the rest of my life.

To add some context, I was going through it the last few years and ended up losing one of my siblings recently. This gave me a “fuck it, life is short” mentality, which led me to travel the world and focus on non career ventures. I’m happy I did this but it doesn’t help with figuring out what I want to do.

Im starting to think about what I want to do for my career but it feels like I’m so far behind. have a degree in polisci and international studies and I speak three languages (English, spanish, and French). I was a great students but now I’ve been out of school for four years. I regret not having an internship, as it was difficult to sacrifice my paid work for that. I have skills I can cultivate; I’ve always been a talented writer, I’m excellent with people, and I’m really hardworking when I have an assignment. Still, I have no idea what career path to even pursue, especially with my degree? I don’t need to work in my “field” but I want something reliable. Any advice on what steps to take next? How do I make up for the gap of time here?
