Hii Guys
What’s your suggestion on buying a Zenbook?
It’s around 1100$
Ultra7/16/512/oled

I’ll probably go into business analyst role in near future

Mostly going to use it for uni works also,
Programming, networking, virtual machines, Android studio, ERP tools, clouds

So the zen will be a good choice or should I buy something else?

(Was about to get LOQ, heavy to carry around so skipped,
Then was looking for Thinkpad, seems like it’s not available in Sri Lanka
What shall I do)

Hey everyone,

I’m a 3rd year university student looking for a laptop I can use for the next few years.

My budget is around $1000( +70 to 90$) (300k–350k LKR).

Right now I’m mainly deciding between ASUS ZenBook and Lenovo ThinkPad.

What I’ll be using it for:

•Programming (Python, Java, web dev, VS Code)

•Networking (Cisco Packet Tracer)

•Databases (Oracle DB)

•Virtual machines

•ERP tools (SAP S/4HANA, Microsoft Dynamics)

•Adobe (Photoshop, Illustrator, CapCut ..light to moderate use)

•Learning AI (beginner level, not heavy training)

•AWS / cloud work

And I’m aiming towards a Business Analyst

A few things I’m unsure about:

1.ZenBook vs ThinkPad -which would fit better for my overall work + academics?

  1. Is 16GB RAM enough, or should I try to go for 32GB or laps come with extra slots)

Any specific models you’d recommend in this price range?

I’ll be carrying it around a lot, so I’d prefer something not too heavy with good battery life. I was initially considering the Lenovo LOQ, but dropped it since it felt too bulky

Would really appreciate any advice. Thanks!
