Recently, the great sea king Trundor of the Ocean was captured and murdered by the Antler Lord. And the merfolk are in turmoil. They desire revenge against the Lord of Varadune. He That Walks The Desert with his most trusted Lieutenants: Vithul, the orc sorcerer and Malus, the grand torturer have summoned legions of Varadune’s empire to raid the seas and the lands of Rutland.

Some mermaids, trained, and prepped are begging for help.

Message from the distant lands.

“The people of Drellendar and Irtara have been ransacked and pillaged. People and other creatures were put to the sword. I fear no one survived. The brutality was inevitable. He That Walks The Desert wants the world his. He and his demons and his empire have risen from Varadune to wreak the world clean. And he will not stop until the last crown has been wiped out clean.”

Malus approached.

Malus: My Lord. Our army… has come to serve you.

The Antler Lord has murdered the Sea King, and decapitated his head.

He That Walks The Desert: Then war has come. With it, all lands will be mine. And the orcs will have taste of their enemy’s flesh on the people of Rutland.

Malus: The march sir?

He That Walks The Desert: Begin. Nothing will stop us. No one will.

Na’taara is one of the oldest beings to have lived since the times before Men, Dwarves, and Orcs. Her race was of a natural origin. They despise violence, but fight when they had to. Over time she had watched the races of other folks and preferred to stay quiet, adopting a light gray wolf named Everest. And her pack: Sand, Snow, and Coal. There are very few of her people left. What became of them, she doesn’t know. But what she does know is the words of trouble in the desert. An owl had come. And spoke.

Owl: Hoot hoot! Danger! In the desert! A giant bat flies there. Orcs too. And a figure. He That Walks The Desert is gathering an army! War I fear!

Na’taara: I must get my wolves out! Everest!

Everest: Yes, mother!

Na’taara: Rally the pack! Bears! And other critters! Monsters are near!

She looks back at the owl.

Na’taara: If there is anyone out there that can help, deliver the message. I give you my power to communicate with any being you come across! Go now! Fly!

Malus waves his hand. “Meet my second lieutenant. Vithul. Shaman to He That Walks The Desert. He will be useful in your campaign. And he shall slay your enemies.” Malus snarled.

He looks to Vithul. “Take the army to the borders of Rutland. Slay them all. For the Antler Lord.”

Vithul bowed. “To the Antler Lord, Master Malus.”
