Obviously the SAW Tisha has a lot of hype (and controversy) with the pew science report. I'm a die hard CAT fan with 16 of their cans and numerous duplicates of the ones I like, but I'm kind of sucker for gizmos and gadgets and hype. I like to play with all of the newest tech. So when Dry Creek had an inconel version I decided to check it out as there are not a ton of videos on it.
I have an AI QD mount on it so I could swap it back and forth with the KK. With the AI QD mount it's actually longer mounted than the CAT KK. Not by much, but that's one of its selling points over the KK is that it's shorter, but not really with the whole system. I have a Munkworks Zero Hub on order so that should make it shorter than the KK, but don't know that for sure. It's about 2.5 ounces heavier than the KK with the mount.
On the MR556a4 you have to run it in the unsuppressed setting or you won't get lock back with Xtac 55gr. With the KK you will get lock back in the suppressed setting, but it runs a little slow so I typically run it on the unsuppressed setting.
Tone wise it sounds really good. Like its name, shhhh, it kinda has a deep "shushing" sound.
Didn't have a chance to run it under nods to evaluate flash performance, but interested in doing that in the future.
Sounds wise, I don't care too much about decibels and never have because I shoot with plugs and muffs. I prioritize length/weight, input on the gun and flash. I don't really know what I was expecting, but the pewscience score is pretty leaps and bounds above the others so I was kinda expecting big things. I have an extensive suppressor selection across a very wide range of technologies and have generally found the pewscience score to correspond pretty well to my experiences. I will say this was one of the only times that after I shot it I was kinda scratching my head? I mean it's a great suppressor, but I'm not sure how it earned such an outstanding score compared to others? Maybe it's because I was shooting inside and it's such a high flow can that it's kinda like hux cans that really benefit from being outside?
Lastly the looks. I can't dig it, but I certainly see how people would. Cool piece of technology and certainly appreciate another option.
Im a bit autistic regarding my gun tuning and have spent many, many hours perfecting my scars. Figured I'd share my tuning kit. A full complement of PMM gas jets, Scarburators, discarders, OEMs, mototech 3 position regulator and the tools to exchange jets. Makes for a very handy range kit to mess with tuning on the fly.
In my travels I've found the best results with keeping the OEM regulator and switching gas jets while using Hux Flow cans. Although, I am currently trying to make a CAT KK run well with my scar 16.
