20-Homer Trivia Time

The White Sox are on pace to have four players hit 20+ homers for the first time since 2018. Can you name the four 20-homer hitters from 2018?

Projecting season win totals (because why not? I got nothing better to do on a Monday night in a heat wave)

I decided just for funsies to take a crack at projecting what the team's record at the end of the year could look like. For the purposes of this thought exercise, I took our current winning percentage (.530) and applied it to the rest of our slate of games before the All Star break. This would give us 7 more wins and have us entering the break with a 51-44 record.

We have 67 games left to play after the break. The best post ASB winning percentage in modern history came from the 2001 Oakland Athletics, which posted a .773 winning percentage in the second half. The worst post ASB mark is pretty obvious which team and year it was, as we posted a .219 mark.

Using those two winning percentages gives us what I feel are confidently the maximum and minimum limits for our second half. So here is the list of what we could finish at, and what that would take in the second half.

  • Upper Limit: 103 wins — We would need to win 52 games in the second half, posting a .776 winning percentage.
  • Lower Limit: 66 wins — We would need to win 15 games in the second half, posting a .224 winning percentage.
  • .500 W% post-ASG — We would win 34 games and finish at 85-77
  • Maintain season-long .530 W% post-ASG — We would win 36 games and finish at 87-75
  • Maintain .593 W% we've had since April 17 post-ASG — We would win 40 games and finish at 91-71
  • Match the 2005 regular season total OR tie franchise record with 100 wins OR set franchise record with 101 wins — we would need to win 48, 49 or 50 games, respectively, for each of those scenarios, meaning winning percentages of .713, .731, .746

My prediction: I say we finish at 95 wins this year.

After years of never really having what I felt was a good enough idea for me to have done, I finally have an idea I like and think I might want to get done. Could use some advice as I plan things out.

So like I said, I finally have an idea I think I like enough to where I would want to get this tattoo. It would be my first ever tattoo, and I would love some advice from people more experienced with tattoos.

The idea: so I work at a zoo, and I was thinking of putting together a sleeve on my right upper arm featuring some of my favorite animals.

The questions:

-I was thinking maybe the way to go is to start off with one animal, and then over time add more animals to the piece. Would it be better to go this way or wait until I have a full idea and get it done all at once?

-Tying into the previous question, let’s say I decided to go one at a time, and I start off with a lion and then I went back later to get an elephant that is standing behind the lion. Would this be fine, or is doing it this way more likely to cause issues for how it would look in the long run?

-This falls more under personal taste and I know this will have to be my decision, but I was still curious for opinions. I’m going back and forth between trying to do it as a full nature scene (like having the animals at a savanna watering hole) or just having it as a group of animals kind of layered on top of each other

And then if you have any other general input on my idea or just for someone getting their first tattoo I’d appreciate it!

Was just watching an episode of The FBI Files and I saw a Sox decal to my surprise

Wasn’t even about a case in Chicago. It was the 1986 Miami FBI shootout

Would it be considered fraud if I lied about who I am while selling an object?

I'm in Wisconsin.

So for the sake of example, let's say I have a rock that I found outside my building and I am selling it to another person. If I lied to the person about who I am, like saying that I'm a pastor from Canada when I am actually a garbageman from Florida, but I am 100% upfront and honest on details about the rock I am selling, would that be considered fraud because I am misrepresenting who I am? Or does that not matter as long as I am upfront and honest about the item the buyer is receiving?
