What is your go-to row split?

What is your go-to row split?

Just wondering what’s everyone’s go to row count for cuff-leg-foot?

For example, I’m a size UK7 and normally do 30-35-40 split, my mum is the same size but prefers the socks taller, so for her I’d do 40-40-40.

What does everyone collect other than sea glass?

Other than the actual glass, what else are you collecting? I’ve seen people post ceramic pieces and marbles, are there some rules as to what’s good/bad to collect? What are the rarest “things”? Keen to learn about it all. I’m in the UK if that’s of any difference 🌊

Got the sea glass - now what?

First time sea glass hunter here - we went to Seaham earlier this week for the first time and came back with lots of treasure. Most are small but we (me and my 8 year old) don’t mind that.

My question is - what’s next? Do I need to clean them somehow? If so, just water or something specific? Are there some clever ways how to display them best/make the colours pop? Any and all advice is welcome 😊

How do you deal with selective eating as a family?

My daughter (8) is a selective eater. I don’t call her picky because she has good 10-15 meals on rotation, loves her fruit, different snacks etc, but when it comes to main meals, it is always the same.

For example, she loves a good curry, spaghetti bolognese, meatballs, paella, lasagna etc, but will not eat mashed or roasted potatoes. Also, everything has to be made from scratch as she prefers my cooking and it makes me happy, however, it is so mundane. Because I do have to put in 30min-1.5hrs to cook the meal, depending on what it is, I’m not also cooking something different for the rest of us (1yr old, me and dad).

This has resulted in everyone having the same meals for tea (dinner) for, legitimately, 4-5yrs. It’s kinda like a 2 week rotation of almost always the same stuff.

She was a brilliant eater up until about 2-3 and then just stopped trying new things. I encourage her to try meals I make just for myself or what dad makes, I expose her to plenty of different foods, but I don’t ever force anything as grew up like that myself and never again.

We just default to the same stuff because she will eat it, she will get nutrients + cost of living and food prices are ridiculous, so can’t afford to waste money on things that won’t be eaten. But as adults, it’s exhausting always eating the same.

Looking for advice from mums who might have gone/are going through the same thing. She’s not neurodivergent and has no known allergies.

Crochet classes

Would crochet classes be of interest to the good people of Warrington at all?

I’m an advanced crocheter and have been toying with the idea of setting something up for a while, so trying to gauge interest. I’m thinking a “course” setup (4-6 weeks) with one class per week, most likely on the weekend, where I teach you the basics and you have an actual finished object by the end of the course 🤔

Sock yarn for wearables?

Hello fellow crafters, I’ve started a new pair of socks and absolutely adore this colour-way. I have lovingly named them my Sunset socks in my head already 😅

This made me wonder - has anyone used sock yarn to knit jumpers or cardigans? The wool content isn’t exactly screaming “summer tee” to me, but imagine this as a flowy, bright jumper in the winter?! What a mood boost!
