Well I took a gamble on Ali Express and it’s not love.
I like most teen guitarists in 86’ fell in love with the “Bones” guitar the instant we saw Dokken’s “It’s Not Love” video filmed in LA on a stake bed truck. I bought it from Ali with the intention of modding if it was worth it. If not, I’d use it as a wall hanger.
Yes I read great reviews on the Firefly, but I wanted the “J Frogg” logo. In my opinion, the Ali body looks way better.
It was packed like crap and pictured are the results. No outward damage to the packaging, but there you go.
Surprisingly the “bones” are really decent and my luthier buddy (excellent work on neck breaks) says he can fix it, so we’ll see in a week or so.
