Peach Dahlia after alterations

I ordered the peach Dahlia off Poshmark to wear to a wedding. I ordered a small based on House of CB’s size chart, but my husband and I were barely able to zip it over my chest 🫠. I took it to a local alterations lady and she added a triangle panel of fabric (second pic) to each side of the bodice to give me extra room and it fits like a glove now. It’s kind of crazy how off their size chart is because my measurements fit well within their small range.

Am I a helicopter parent for not wanting to leave my 4 year old alone in a hotel room?

Looking for some reassurance that I’m not the crazy one here? I (34F) was at a wedding out of state this past weekend for a family member. Because most of my family lives in a different state from where the wedding took place, we naturally were all staying at the hotel where the bride and groom set up a room block. I came alone with my 4 year old son.

Around 9pm at the reception, my son was getting tired and restless so I started saying goodbye to family and said we were going back to the hotel. My aunt who is in her 50s said “ok well you’re going to just put him to bed then come down to the bar of the hotel to party with everyone later, right?!??” I kind of laughed and said “no? I’m here by myself, I can’t just leave him alone” She said “he’s going to be asleep in a hotel room!” and proceeded to explain that whenever she traveled with her kids when they were young, she would always leave them in the hotel room once they were asleep and go down to drink or swim in the pool, etc. She then said “you’re making me feel like a bad mother!” Which I never said. Was I being overprotective in this case?? I know nobody can technically get into my hotel room without a key, but what if somebody knocked on the door and he opened it for them thinking it was me? Somebody please tell me that I’m not some crazy helicopter parent.

Has anyone had a child predict their pregnancy?

Random, but earlier today I was buckling my 4 year old son in his car seat and he said out of the blue “you have a baby in your tummy!” I thought I misheard him because it caught me off guard, so I asked him what he said and he repeated it. He’s never said anything like that to me before. I would’ve ovulated just a few days ago, so it’s definitely too early to take a test. But now im curious whether anyone else has had a child accurately predict that they were pregnant before they found out?

I am going to a wedding in June with a “garden party formal” dress code. No additional information was given. The venue is a modern barn-style event space. To me, “garden party” and “formal” contradict each other a bit. Does my dress need to be floor length? And formal typically means darker suits for men, but garden party makes me think lighter colors. Do you think any of these dresses would work for the dress code?
