Don't want me to do the work myself? Ok, then run and do it yourself.

This happened a year ago, but I just found this sub and realised I had a story to share.
It is not that extreme tho.

I worked at a buffet restaurant, and every shift, each staff was assigned one job. Those being usually: Cashier, runner(person who goes pick up the food when ready), person who changes the food around, table managing, cleaning, washing dishes, etc.

I was usually the Runner, because I was faster than everyone else, and we needed to walk a long way to the kitchen to pick up food and come back, and we had to do it in 3 minutes, or else our leader would call the kitchen/us to ask where we were.

There is a counter between the kitchen and the corridor that you pass through with the cart.
Usually, you go in, ask for the food, they will put it on the counter in a few seconds to a minute, you put it on the cart, and you can go back to the restaurant, but sometimes they will be understaffed, and if we are in need of something simple like sauces, green onions, or jam, we usually just get inside the kitchen and grab it ourselves. This is not a rule, it is just something that happened sometimes if they were really busy.

In that case, we were in need of some sauces, one or two food items, and green onions. I knew where all the sauces and green onions where, so after asking for them and waiting for more than a minute, I shouted "coming in! Grabbing green onions!" and went in the kitchen.
As I was pouring the pre-cut green onions on a bowl, one of the chefs walked on my direction screaming for me to leave the food, and that that was not my job, and that I was doing it wrong (I was not).

I asked him why, because we have been doing that for years at that point, and he said that it is his job to do, and that I'm only supposed to ask and wait.

So next time I needed something, I entered the kitchen, and as the chef was prepping something else, I started screaming "SAUCE ONE, SAUCE TWO, GREEN ONIONS, HONEY, THIS, THAT, THIS ALSO, SOMETHING ELSE", until I finished the full list, which were all mostly things I knew where they were and could have grabbed it during the time I was screaming the names and waiting.
The chef didn't say anything for a few seconds, so I screamed all of it again, and on the third time, while he was grabbing one of the sauces and placing it on the counter, he said "It's just me here, stop screaming and just put the paper there and wait".
I responded that I have to go back to the restaurant in 3 minutes or else they call to check what I'm doing and I would have to say that he was taking too long to bring me the stuff.
So he said "Ok, just go in there and grab it", and I reminded him that he told me the other day that I was not supposed to touch anything because that was not my job.

But I guess he changed his mind, cause he just said "forget it, just do it", but I reminded him again that he made it official that I can't do that, so I would have to contact the leader to make sure that I was allowed to, and the chef had to run around the kitchen for a few minutes to grab everything I needed, and never complained about us being inside the kitchen afterwards.

I was a single child until I was 9, when my family adopted a 8-year-old, AMA

My parents always wanted two children, but my mom had health complications that didn't allow her to get pregnant again, and after a hysterectomy, they didn't give up on the idea of having another child, and opted for adoption, not only because they wanted to have two kids, but also to help another child.
At 9, I went from being a single child to having a sibling who was basically my age, since we were born the same year.

Having a little bit of a hard time with clearing all the areas

I stopped playing for a bit cause of personal reasons, but I hope to get back on it soon.
As for now, I am currently on track of clearing all the ? on the maps to get the Hermes Homie achievement.

I think I can manage the way I am doing right now, which is by going through each area and cleaning out the smaller areas one by one before getting to the next one.
But the map can be a little overstimulating when looking at it, specially when trying to look for places I haven't found yet, and I realised that sometimes there is only one ? in an area, but then when I get to it, another 3 show up since I discovered the bigger area.

I was just wondering if anyone has some tips on how to make sure you found every spot, and what is the best way to clear the map in your opinion.

Thanks in advance!

AITA for calling my friend's D&D character boring and rude?

I'm the only one in my friend group with Reddit, so I'm posting on behalf of the 3 of us.
People involved: Me (F), Anna (F), John (M), Connor (M), Jen (F), Carrie (F), and our D&D group. All 19+.

Me, Anna, and John met through D&D 3 years ago. I met Connor 2 years ago, and he became close with us, so we had a group chat with the four of us. We often joined D&D campaigns together and eventually met Jen, Carrie, and the rest of our D&D group a year ago.

6 months ago we started a new campaign. Connor was a co-GM and helped create the story. It was his first time GMing, and the campaign started off great.

The issue was his OC. He was constantly rude, cold, and dismissive. Most conversations ended after a sentence or two cause the OC would shut everyone down or be angry. Connor has made several characters before and is experienced with roleplay, so this was an intentional choice.

Around the same time, Connor became closer to Jen and Carrie and gradually stopped talking much to me, Anna, and John. We didn't have a problem with that and were happy he made new friends.

The conflict started when Connor called Anna. During the call, he talked about how much he liked his OC and asked what she honestly thought. In our friend group, we've always been honest with each other when asked for feedback.

Anna said that in her opinion, the character was boring, always angry, and difficult to interact with, and that she felt Connor had made much better characters before.

Connor seemed to accept the criticism, but afterward, people in the D&D group started ignoring Anna and treating her differently both in and out of game.

Me and John noticed it, and we were confused because we'd all criticized each other's characters before without issues. We knew Connor had told Jen and Carrie, and they spread it around, but we didn't confront anyone.

Connor then messaged me saying, "heyyy, I got some tea." I replied that if it was about Anna, he should talk to her directly instead of me. He never contacted Anna.

Later he called John and immediately started complaining about us, including saying he didn't like me anymore because I was rude to him. John got angry and called Connor immature for talking about his best friend behind her back instead of addressing the issue with her directly. Connor left the call.

To this day, Connor never spoke to Anna about it, and people in the group continued to ignore her. Eventually the three of us left the campaign.

So we're wondering: Was Anna the asshole for giving honest criticism after being asked? Was Connor the asshole for apparently spreading it instead of talking to her? Or does everyone suck here?

WIBTA for not going to a family trip?

TLDR: My parents planned a trip for April next year, but I already have a trip planned for January. Would I be the asshole for not going to the trip they planned?
Edit: typos, added ages

I(25F) am using my friend's account because I don't have one and they suggested me to use theirs, since we are currently hanging out, and we spent the last 30 minutes talking about this, and I wanted some unbiased opinions. My friend thinks I shouldn't go, but my gf says I should if I really want to.

My parents(50s M&F) love travelling, I do too, but I didn't have a passport until 2 months ago, so I couldn't travel overseas.
My girlfriend(29F) helped me get a passport, and we started planning a trip for New Years, where we would be going to another country for 2 weeks.

I told my parents about that trip around 4 months ago, when we started planning it, and they even asked me about it last month, so they are aware of it.
Me and my gf already have everything completely planned, the only thing we haven't done yet is buying the plane tickets, but we have the hotel, where we want to go, and money saved for the trip.

My parents came to me yesterday talking about how they are planning a trip to a different country, and they are thinking end of March or start of April.
They told me and asked if I wanted to go, and I reminded them that I have my own trip planned for the end of the year, but dad keeps saying that I can get another week off for March or April, and that I won't even have to pay for the hotel, so there is no reason not to go.

I want to go, but I don't have money saved for two trips. It took me a year to save for this trip, and they are so close together that it would leave a bad taste at my workplace if I got 2 weeks off for a trip in Dec/Jan, and then another week 3 months later. We only have 10 days of paid leave every 6 months, so I would not even have enough days to use for their trip since I will already be using 6 days for my trip (6 days + Our workplace holidays, which are 10 days, making my trip 16 days.)

Would I be the asshole if I told them no again and made it even more clear that I'm not going? My gf said that we can change our plans to make it possible for me to go to their trip, but she won't even be able to go with us, and the point of our trip was that it was gonna be our first overseas trip together, so I don't want to go to another trip instead without her.
I think what would make me the asshole here is that I told my parents a lot of times that I want to go on a family trip with them maybe next year, but I never stated any dates, and I though they understood I meant closer to the end of the year than the start, since I have been planning this trip for a while with my girlfriend.

Have been feeling itchy for a month now

Hi! I have not seen a doctor about this yet but I plan on going next week.

I am on my early 20s, female, around 170cm tall and weight around 85kg. Writing from Japan.
The only diagnosed medical issue I have is Asthma, which was diagnosed around a year ago.
I don't smoke anything, haven't used any drugs in my life, and have no allergies besides pollen.

I moved to this house 8 months ago, and had no problems until now, so I don't think there is anything wrong with the house.
Around a month ago, I started getting some small rashes around my body, some red patches that went away in a day or so, and itchiness around sweaty areas like armpits, behind my knees, chest, and private areas, which I imagined it was just from being sweaty.
It's important to notice that summer started around the same time that the itchiness started.

I started taking colder showers, scrubbing a bit more, using more soap, and washing my hair more frequently (I used to wash it every two days) cause I thought the problem was sweat.

The weird part is, the itchiness started getting worse, to the point that my partner says I have been itching myself in my sleep.
I thought about bed bugs, but my partner hasn't had anything similar. We still washed all the bed stuff, and change it regularly.

From around 2 weeks ago, the itchiness got worse to the point that places that don't usually itch in general are itching, like my arms, legs, neck, back, belly, literally all my body.

The only thing that we did that is different than normal was use a gas to kill bugs (sold at the supermarket). I have used this gas multiple times before, but you do only use it during summer time most of the times, and every 2 to 3 months.
We washed everything after using the gas.

The only reason I'm posting this here is because it's getting so bad that I had an anxiety attack yesterday from not being able to sleep for more than 2 hours because of how itchy I was feeling, and it only got a bit better after taking a really cold shower and going back to bed.

Has anyone been through something like this? What was it? And what did you do to help it?
For now, since I can't go to the doctor until next week, I have been using some rash cream where it itches the most, and wearing baggy clothes.

I got plastic surgery at 12, AMA

At around 11~12, I got a otoplasty (ear pinning surgery).
It was completely for aesthetic reasons, and to be honest I kind of regret getting it now more than 10 years after.
I have nothing to do for the next few hours, so I will be answering anything.

My partner started watching the show, finally!

My partner watched the first episode of the first season when it was released, but her partner at the time didn't like it so they ended up never watching it fully at all.
A week ago, I told her about the show and she agreed to watch it with me, and we are mid season 1 right now.

I would love if you guys commented some stuff (no spoilers) that she will only get after watching it!

She's been loving it, and it's becoming one of her obsessions.

[Seeking recs] Looking for good finished

Looking for good finished stories* Lol it bugged and deleted the last word on the title

I am new to the sub and to Ao3, so let me know if I should do anything differently.
I used to use Wattpad a lot, but since I got a computer, I figured AO3 is better, I like the tagging system a lot, and some of my friends also use AO3 regularly and are always sharing stories.

I just started a google docs with the actual stories I am reading, and I pretty much lost all the other stories I had saved, so I am seeking some recs.

I am looking for finished stories, since I don't enjoy waiting for chapters or cliffhangers.
I read pretty much anything, but I do have a preference in mlm and wlw romance, but I wouldn't not read a good story just cause it was straight or something like that.
I don't enjoy Anime that much, but if a story is actually good, I would give something from anime a try. I love original stories too.
Basically I would give anything a read if someone claims it to be really good, even if it is a ship I don't like personally, the only thing I normally avoid is incest and stories with minors.

My favourite shows are Supernatural and BBC Sherlock.

I love sad stories with bad endings, dark romance, Golden Retriver x Black cat, fluff, and etc.
Edit: Spelling, and I have just finished reading "Blurring Lines" by Youngbody_oldsoul and I loved it! Someone outside of reddit recommended me this so I just thought about sharing it here too instead of making a new post.

This is one of the best games I've played

Hi guys, it's me again. (who cares)
This might have some spoilers, so I will use the spoiler thing >!this!<accordingly! But refrain from reading if you haven't finished the game yet.

I have finally finished, respectively, the main story, The fate of Atlantis, Legacy of the first blade, and the Korfu quest.
And omg, what a ride.

This is my first playthrough, and after 250 hours, I have done all of those.
Unfortunately, I didn't get the best ending >!(the family ending in the main story, unfortunately, I had to kill Deimos) !<but I still had an amazing time and I loved the ending I got.

The fate of Atlantis was really nice, Elysium was beautiful, and I unfortunately hated the underworld setting (i just don't like dark areas), but the story was amazing, and Hades was such a good guy (in the bad way). >!I still wish we didn't have to kill Ros, he was such a good doggie, I wish we could keep him!<
I also loved seeing some of our friends, if you know what I mean, it was such a good time.
As for the Atlantis ending, I can't say I loved it. It was definitely an ending.
But as a lot of people said, there are many nice engravings and items, and I loved the design of the Isu armors so much.

Legacy of the first blade was an amazing dlc, in my opinion, it was the best one. I loved the story, and I loved the ending.
I posted something some time ago asking for people to tell me stuff about the dlc that I would only get after I finished it, and omg you guys were so right haha.
Someone told me to enjoy burning boats, and indeed it was pretty nice. And someone else only said "I'm sorry", and to be honest, thanks! It was a very emotional story, and I felt heartbroken so many times. >!The biggest heartbreaks being finding Natakas dead, and leaving Elpideos. !<
Darius was an amazing character, and I wish we saw more about him.

Korfu was so much fun!! I literally had an amazing time talking with Herodotos, and finding more about him.
The outfit was really funny, me and my partner laughed a lot about how silly Kassandra looks with that hat on.

In conclusion, this game is amazing, and it being the first rpg style game that I played, after telling everyone I hated those games forever, I was surprised at how much I loved it.
I haven't 100% it yet since there are some side quests I haven't done, and a lot of areas I haven't been to yet, but I am 78% in, and I reckon I will probably platinum it in the next 100 hours or so haha, I am a very slow gamer, and I love taking pictures.

If you read this insanely long post, thanks
I wonder how you guys felt when playing ACO for the first time, was it love at first play too?

I think this was my favourite DLC, it had so many nice quests, and I loved Darius so much.
I saw a lot of people hating on Natakas, but I personally liked him as a character, I don't know if Neema is different or if they are the same character but different genders, so I can't compare them.

I also saw a lot of people talk about how they disliked the fact that you don't have a choice with Kassandra having a baby, and I understand. If I could change that, I would probably make it so we would be able to choose during dialogue when Elpideos first shows up, if he is either our baby, or a baby we adopted from someone who might have died, because since the game has so many options for making the eagle bearer gay, I think it breaks that choice when the game forces you to have a child in a straight relationship.
If the eagle bearer was straight from the beginning of the game, I wouldn't have bat an eye at it.

I loved the new cultists, and the DLC also happens in places I have never been beforehand during the game, so it let me explore some new Greece areas, so that was pretty nice.

The revealing at the end of the DLC was also so nice, I had no idea. My partner played the main story of Odyssey and Origins, but she didn't know about it too, and we both were really surprised.
I asked here before which AC game I should play after I finished Odyssey and most people said Origins, and that it would make sense after I finished everything, and it indeed does, thanks for the recommendation.

I'm on my way now to do the Korfu quest, >!I have no idea what happens besides the Valhalla related stuff !<so I'm really excited.

Besides Phoebe, cause I think she is a fan favourite in general, my favourite npcs are Brasidas, and Xenia.
I loved Brasidas' entrance to the game and after meeting him later in the game, I felt even more attached to him.
As for Xenia, I would just laugh everytime I talked to her, I just wish her quests weren't so boring sometimes, she is a great npc.
