Stand am Bahnhof und vor mir haben paar Teenies geraucht. Ein Typ sah nicht älter aus als 12 oder 13, hat zwei Züge gemacht und die Kippe auf den Boden geworfen. Der Aschenbecher war einen Meter hinter ihm. Bin ich der Alman, weil ich ihn aufgefordert hab die Kippe gefälligst in den Aschenbecher und nicht auf den Boden zu werfen?

Ich hab vor kurzem überlegt Metro 2033 zu lesen und in einigen Rezensionen stand, dass in dem ganzen 800 Seiten Buch quasi keine Frau vor kommt. Geschweige denn eine aussagekräftige Rolle spielt.

Fällt euch sowas auf? Achtet ihr darauf? Stört es euch?

Selbst Tolkien hatte zumindest 3 weibliche Charaktere die halbwegs wichtige Rollen gespielt haben.

Für mich hängt es ein bisschen vom Kontext ab. Wenn ich ein Buch über eine Schiffscrew in 1700irgendwas lese kann ich das glaube ich noch eher akzeptieren als in einer post-apokalyptischen Welt in der Menschen aller Art am Wiederaufbau der Gesellschaft beteiligt sind...

What's your favourite yarn for sock knitting? And why?

I went to my local yarn store today and noticed the huge assortment of different brands and compositions and wondered what's the best. I'll embark on the mission to try different yarns for sock knitting but wanted to ask the experienced sock knitters in this subreddit.

Have you had any bad experiences? What is important for you: washability, durability, softness or avoiding microplastics?

I have been knitting for quite a while now but so far I've never done socks. I've knitted a few sweaters with cables and colourwork and would describe myself as intermediate to advanced.

But somehow knitting socks feels intimidating. Especially getting the measurements right, so that they actually fit my feet.

Which patterns would you recommend to learn the basics of sock knitting, especially shaping? I would love to knit a few smaller projects, the last sweater I did took me over 3 months and there are so many beautiful sock patterns.

I just feel a little overwhelmed about where to start.

Bei mir steht demnächst ein Umzug in die erste eigene Wohnung an, was mit einigen Anschaffungen einhergeht. Energieeffizienz hilft ja beim dauerhaften Sparen, genauso wie Geräte, die lange halten oder leicht zu reparieren sind. Aus diesem Grund wollte ich euch nach euren konkreten Empfehlungen und Erfahrungen zu Haushaltsgeräten fragen, wie:

- Kühlschrank (mit Gefrierkombination oder Gefriere extern)

- Waschmaschine

- Tisch-Geschirrspüler

- Sonstige Küchengeräte oder Wohngeräte die man vielleicht gebrauchen könnte

Oft ist secondhand ja gut für einen günstigen Anschaffungspreis, aber wenn diese Geräte letzten Endes einen höheren Verbrauch haben als Neugeräte, rechnet sich das ja nicht so unbedingt...

Also grundlegend: mit welchen Geräten habt ihr bisher gute Erfahrungen gemacht? Von was sollte man sich vielleicht fern halten?

My group and I were thrown into jail and after breaking my magic-suppressing shackles I used the cantrip "Prestidigitation" to create lock-picks to free the others.

Part of that cantrip is:

"You create a nonmagical trinket or an illusory image that can fit in your hand and that lasts until the end of your next turn."

My DM was a bit stunted because he couldn't really stop me creating more lock-picks and trying again if I failed the check. I already use this cantrip a lot for other tiny effects but the part that let's you create any small item is kinda OP. My DM also asked if that means that I can create a tiny knife or weapon or lock-pick at any given time that suits me. So what do you think? How would you regulate this? Would you introduce any caveats?

EDIT: I'm using the German translation which states something more like "you create a small object or illusion that fits in your hand" which leaves more room for interpretation than "trinket"

Ist es langfristig gesehen besser einen festen Strompreis zu zahlen oder lohnt sich der flexible Preis? Muss man bei Verträgen ja darauf achten.

Just saw a video of a stunning crochet blanket and the caption saying "and the ends are weaved in too" and it just stopped me dead in my tracks.

A few days ago I already saw a post where someone "teached" themselves something in crochet or knit (don't remember exactly).

I totally understand that not everyone in this community is a native speaker - me neither. But the incorrect grammar just throws me off every time I see a nice video.

At least I know it's not AI.

Also I get dialects and the conversation about classist and racist takes are important! I still think language rules transport knowledge and sometimes with evolving language we lose that knowledge. Today I learned that weaved can be used if a person weaved through traffic and woven is for the crafted objects (the comments have the right example)

Auf vielen Grundrissen die auf immoscout zu den Wohnungen hochgeladen werden (wenn sie überhaupt hochgeladen werden) sind keine Maße eingezeichnet. Kennt ihr Tricks oder Software mit der man diese herausfinden kann?

Wenn man die Maße dann mal hat, welche Tools nutzt ihr, um eure Einrichtung zu planen? Eine Freundin von mir hat mal ein halbes 3D-Modell erstellt, bei mir ist es meist kariertes Papier und Lineal.

Ich werde demnächst zum ersten Mal alleine in einer Wohnung wohnen (davor WGs, Familie, etc.) und habe mal grob durchkalkuliert was ich alles an Kosten dann ja auch alleine stemmen muss. Sowas wie GEZ, Strom, Müll, Internet, etc. wird ja nicht gerade billiger, nur weil man nur eine Person ist.

Was sind also eure besten Tipps zum Sparen? Sei es Haushaltsgeräte, Steckdosen mit Timer (wie am besten anwenden), oder ähnliches.

Wäre sehr dankbar für die Hilfe, damit ein bisschen mehr am Ende des Monats für andere Dinge bleibt.

Möbel hab ich schon vor eigentlich alles von Kleinanzeigen oder so zu holen.

Hi ich habe mal eine Frage an euch!

Die Frage nach Kriterien zur Mieter-Auswahl kam ja schon häufiger, aber nachdem ich aktuell selber auf der Suche bin habe ich ein konkretes Beispiel zu dem ich eure Einschätzung spannend fände:

Nehmt ihr generell Leute die gerade ins Berufsleben einsteigen? Also zum Beispiel Wechsel von Studium zu erstem Job?

Die meisten haben während der Wohnungssuche ja dann erstmal noch keinen Einkommensnachweis außer dem Arbeitsvertrag.

Oder nehmt ihr solche Leute nur mit Bürgschaft der Eltern?

Wenn ihr die Wahl zwischen Berufseinsteiger und bereits Angestellter Person habt, was würdet ihr da bevorzugen?

To me that is so disgusting! Sure you don't need to wash after every wear but at the latest before storing it away for summer! But please wash them a little more often! Have people never seen the videos of someone washing their wool sweater after months and the water turning all brown?

Yes, when wearing a shirt underneath you can go long without washing but not never! You took all the time and care to make the item, please just care properly for it!
