Using dose

I am currently on 0.5mg and friday will be my 3rd shot at this higher dose, and man am I struggling. Firstly my food noise hasnt gone away, and I still have quite and appetite so it has been a struggle. I am working with a dietician and doing the best I can right now fighting off eating things that aren't good for me while managing cravings. I have a therapist as well as I do have a BEd, so I am trying to do this the right way and to change my habits so down the road when I dont need the medication I can keep the weightloss off. I haven't lost any weight yet but do get all the side effects, projectile vomiting, tiredness, and constipation. I am doing all the right things to manage the side effects as well. Does this get any easier, am I expecting to much to soon.

I will keep trucking along but man this has been rough 😪

My chihuahua seems off

My chihuahua seems off and I cant explain it. He does has constipation issues but we have that solved with pysillum husk. Sometimes he is really standoffish with me, sleeping more then usual, doesnt like lambchop as much and sometimes cowers on the couch, and will go a day without eating. I have taken him yo the vet and everything is checking g out fine. He is in antianexty meds so im wodering if those need an increase. I am just confused by this sudden change, and everyone keeps telling me its fine. We also trialed him on a pain medication which didnt do much. He has also lost some weight, he a small guy and has alway been a bit over 5lbs but now is sitting at 4.94lbs which doesnt seem like alot but with these small guys I believe it is. Im just looking for suggestions and im at a loss.

Chihuahua

I have a 5 year old male neutered chihuahua. He had been showing signs of pain off and one for several months. I have taken him to the vets several times and they cant really pinpoint it. They think it maybe constipation and have add phsyllium husk to his diet to keep him regular. All blood work is normal. He since February 2025 he has gone from 5.70lbs to 4.94lbs, without any changes to his diet and he does eat well. He is not iver weight and never has been so this weight loss is concerning me a bit. We did xrays. Please see attachment. But we are at a loss, last night he did not move for 14 hours from his spot and he only got up to pee and have a small poop. I know you cannot give medical advice but I am at a loss of what to do next

Mother wants to start ozempic

My mother really wants to try ozempic for weight loss. She is 5'10 and about 230 lbs. However she is 80 years old, she is in really great health, but her mobility is bad, she has already had one knee surgery amd still needs the other one done, but I think weight loss is very much needed to improve it further. I worry though because of her age. Has anyone else is this age range try it, or have parents that use it. I am currently one it so thats why she wants to try it to. Of course we will speak to her doctor and pharmacist about it, but I just wanted some outside opinions as well.

Librela messed up my dog

I have a mn 9 year old hound mix. He was having issues with his back legs, it was determined he had repeated partial tears in his knees and there was mostly likely arthtitis, about a week after we saw his vet he blew his knee, we knew this was coming we just didnt think it would happen so soon. Due to wait times to see surgeons for a tplo we start pain managemeny which included librela. That evening I got a phone call from the surgeon saying the next day they had an appointment and if things went well in that appointment they could do surgery afterwards. He had surgery and did amazing, the surgeons are amazing and have a good reputation so i had no worries then. We continued on with pain management and still gave him his monthly librela. He wasnt coming along walking wise as well as I thought he should, but he went from being extremely active to no exercise and his muscles wasted quite a bit, and he still had a partial tear in his other knee, so we figured it was just that. I went in for his 12 week follow up, and it turns out he had an infection brewing that u could not see, a screw snapped and moved to the other side of his leg, the surgeon i saw for his follow up was dumbfounded. After further discussion and me telling her he was on librela, which I believe I told the other surgeon, it turns out it is one of the worst things you could give a dog especially if they need orthopedic surgeon. When they did surgery it turns out two more screws were cracked, one screw took a small piece of bone, and they were thinking they would have to do a second surgery, his bone is a mess but healed enough that we do not have to do another surgery but we have to be soo careful while he recovers. I asked my regular vet about this and they had no clue that librela would delay bone healing. My dogs knee is a mess but he is slowly recovering. The studies seem to be new but more orthopedic doctor are talking about this, but doctors in regular practice are unaware.

Is this common knowledge about librela, as the things I read about it make it sound like some miracle drug. Do regular doctors know about the issue with bone healing, why aren't this studies more known.

It makes me think twice about everything I am putting into my dog. Your think you are doing everything right, and then something liek this happens, and I feel so guilty.

I can tell you I will be looking deeper into things before just saying yes.

I am so glad I met the surgeons that I did they were so kind and compassionate and worked hard to help me out both with my dog but financially as well.

I took him to the vet, and he had a full work up and everything looked good. We started him on psyllium husk to try to get him more regular, but now his stools are quite soft.

Starting ozempic

So im trying ozempic again, my first time it wasnt successful because I didnt plan, and just winged it without much research, so I only lasted a month using it. This time I am trying to do it the right way, I have signed up for pilate reformer classes and have a pelaton bike to exercise, I hired a dietician, and have a therapist, to help with my weightloss journey. I have gotten up to 280 lbs and feel its only a matter of time before something happens, like with my heart, or diabetes. I also just feel awful everyday due to the weight gain.

I would love to hear some tips people have that are successfully losing weight, but just some success stories in general. Im a little nervous about using it.

Any luck

Has any one had any luck with seeing a naturopathic doctor? I used ine several years ago, but they had me on so many suppleme ts it was financially feasible for long due to cost. I have better insurance plan now that will st least cover visits, but not sure if its worth a try again or not. Last time I didnt have much luck, but maybe she just wasnt the right one for me. Im also in perimenopause which I think is making my ibs so wanna see one for that as well.

19 year old girl

I have a 19 year old grandma cat. I noticed she has been dropping weight. I took her in for her regular 6 month bloodwork and everything looks good. Maybe early onset kidney disease. She does have very bad arthritis that we treat with a low dose of gabapentin. I was wondering what others use for joint pain/health. Im wondering if she is not getting up as much to go to her food bowl to eat.i do have another cat and they share a bowl of dry food. I currently free feed her dry food and she gets wet food at night only. Going to up her wet food to feed a couple times a day in case she is having trouble eating her dry food. She also does have some dementia going on as well. As she does start screaming at night and is usually just staring at the bath tub when I find her. Overall though she is doing pretty good for an old lady.

IBS-D

My doctor is going to start me on Pinaverium, and was wondering what experiences others have had with this drug. I am really hoping it helps. Also he is sending me a blood test for food allergies. Do you think that is accurate in anyone experience. When I look online its kind of a mixed bag. The test is going to run me about $200 so not sure if its a waste of money or not.
