3 Weeks on Ozempic — Down 7 lbs So Far

I wanted to share my personal experience in case it helps anyone considering this route. This is not medical advice—everyone’s health history and response can be very different.

After three weeks, I’m down 7 lbs, and I’m really happy with that progress so far.

The biggest change has been my appetite. I can still eat normal foods and haven’t followed a strict diet, but I get full after about half the portion I used to eat. As someone who loves food and has always struggled with appetite control, it has honestly helped a lot.

So far, I haven’t had any noticeable side effects or discomfort. I also haven’t been doing much exercise yet.

I went through Felix and used their self-serve process.

Step1, I filled out a short questionnaire about my medical history, and about two hours later I had an online consultation with a doctor through the app. I also had to upload a quick full-body video.

The doctor ordered bloodwork and sent me a requisition for LifeLabs. One thing that made me a little nervous was that I was told I could start the medication before my bloodwork results came back. The prescription was shipped very quickly, but I personally didn’t feel comfortable starting until my results had been reviewed, so I chose to wait.

Step 2, blood work.  I went to LifeLabs, had three tubes of blood drawn, and the results were sent directly to the doctor. Once they reviewed everything and said there were no concerns, I felt comfortable starting.

Step 3, The injection arrived the next day, which honestly surprised me. I watched a bunch of injection tutorials because I was nervous about doing my first shot, but I eventually managed it.

Overall, I’m happy with my experience so far. It has made eating less feel much easier without relying entirely on willpower. Again, this is just my personal experience, but I hope it helps someone.

If referral codes are allowed in this subreddit, mine is KtHf7. You can get up to $99 off your first Felix visit, and I receive credit toward future treatment. Please check with your doctor to make sure this is appropriate for you.

Stalling - tips?

SW: 250lbs CW:218lbs GW:140lbs

Hi everyone! I’ve been on ozempic for just over a year now and I need some tips. The last 6 months or so I’ve been stalling/in a funk that I can’t seem to break. I was on 1mg for about 5-6months and seemed to lose about 1-2lbs a week at the beginning. After a while my weight stopped moving. I switched to 1.5mg 2 months ago and still have not lost any more weight (and don’t feel any difference between the 1mg and 1.5). I’ve been fluctuating between 215 - 220lbs for months now and I’m getting frustrated.

I will admit my eating has not been the greatest and I know that’s something I need to work on. As for food noise, I feel like some days are worse than others. Some days I get full right away but then there are other days where I feel like I can eat all day no problem.

Has any one else been in this situation that has any tips? I am still so far from my goal weight that I am getting discouraged. I just feel like after a year I should’ve lost more than 30lbs? I don’t know what to do at this point. I don’t want to jump to 2mg after just switching to 1.5mg because I’m scared that I’m going to hit a wall and have nowhere else to go since that is the max dose. Any tips would be appreciated!

Dosage increase question

I’m currently on 1.0mg and just took my 4th dose of that amount. I’m seeing my doctor again shortly and I’m not sure if I should request to go up or not. I don’t think I’m experiencing the full effects yet because I still have a fair bit of food noise and my appetite has not changed a lot. But it’s definitely much easier to reign myself in or turn down treats. I have been slowly but steadily losing.

Does anyone know if the evidence shows that it’s better to wait to increase dose in terms of overall weight loss? I like the idea of still having some wiggle room with dose increases if I were to plateau, but I also don’t want to miss out on the full benefits of the medication. Any thoughts/advice/experiences?

Short girlies results

Can anyone that’s had success that is short (I’m 5’0” btw) share their experience so far/results? Starting Oz in the coming week when it ships lol. I know it’s harder and slower for shorties to lose. :(
Edited to add: I was 220 lbs (my heaviest ever) when I applied and was prescribed the medication last week and have brought my weight down to 213 as of this morning - yes I know it’s all water weight at this point lol. I took a week to research before paying for/ordering the medication. In that time I decided to overhaul my eating habits by cutting out processed sugars and unhealthy carbs and focusing on high protein and eating within about 1200-1300 calories as I’m fairly sedentary at the moment, and so that I’d know what side effects, if any, would be attributed to the Oz and what is from diet overhaul. Having a little bit lost weight in the past I know I usually get moderate to severe headaches when cutting out sugars etc. I also upped my water to 2000mL per day at the same time. My goal is somewhere around 115-225lbs. Once I’ve settled in on the Ozempic in a week or two will start slowly incorporating lifting weights too.

Fatigue and/or malaise issues

My husband just started Ozempic but it makes him feel so sick (malaise) and fatigued. Has anyone else experienced this? If so, how did you overcome it?

Access to ozempic in Edmonton, Canada?

Hi, wondering if anyone in Edmonton has had a good experience getting a prescription GLP1 for weight loss with a BMI that is slightly overweight. For context, I have PCOS and take metformin to help with insulin resistance and cycle regularity. My whole life revolves around food or trying to lose weight, I would really like to experience the GLP-1 reduction in food noise. My family doctor is not supportive and said he could refer me to a “fat acceptance therapist” he would also not refer me to the weight loss clinic.

I don’t want to lie to an online service in case there are issues or pay addition subscription fees. If anyone has a recommendation, that would be appreciated.

HAVING DIFFICULTY DRAWING MEDICATION INTO NEEDLE/SYRINGE

I’m having one heck of a time using the syringe (w/ small needle) to “draw up” the compounded medicine from the vial.
There is about a mL of medication (liquid) left in the vial (I now have 3 vials). I never seem to be able to draw enough liquid into the syringe. I saw a YouTube video where the administrator uses a longer needle and then switches it to the shorter one for injection. Can someone tell me what size needles I should get for doing this? I hate to waste even a drop of this stuff! Please help!

Best time to workout???

Hi! I’ve been on Ozempic for about 3 months and just went up to 1mg. I’ve struggled with some fatigue and getting into a consistent workout routine.

In the past I was able to get up at 5am and work out before work (was doing 5 days a week), but now I feel like my coffee and B12 are hitting me too late. Anyone else experience this? Did you have to change time of day for working out? Do you have a time of day that just works better?

Any advice or shared experiences on what works best for you all is helpful! Thanks!

Insurance issues/concerns

Hi all! Super frustrating ozempic issues lately and wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat. Essentially, I was on Mounjaro for a year and a half and it was great but then I totally plataued. In the (foolish, I now realize) attempt to switch things up, I changed to Ozempic, but "had to start at the base level," so I essentially went from the highest dose of mounjaro to the lowest dose of Ozempic. I figured I'd maybe gain a few lbs but then things would right themselves...I was mistaken and have now gained about 20 lbs in 2.5 months. (It should also go without saying that my doctor obv isn't great w/ all things GLP1 but that's a conversation for another day....)

I'm trying to titrate up to the 1mg Ozempic before making the swap back to Mounjaro, but now my insurance is being wonky. I never had a single insurance issue with Mounjaro, but after only 2 months on Ozempic (2 pens - 4 .25 shots, 4 .5 shots), they're now unwilling/unable to fulfill my prescriptions for some inexplicable reason. My 1mg shot can't be filled until Sept. 4 and my .25/.5 shot can't be filled until August 30th. I have valid prescriptions in for both as well as approved PAs for both.

Any idea why/how this is happening? Anyone else experiencing something similar?

I'm T2 diabetic and obese, so it's not as is I'm trying to get Ozempic through some illicit means or something. I lost a good 60lbs on mounjaro but gaining 20lbs of that back over the past 8 weeks has been ... not ideal. So now I'm anxious about ostensibly not having any shots whatsoever until the end of the month, you know?

Anywho, that's all - thanks for any feedback/advice!

Ozempic 0.5mg is making it hard for me to eat.

I started with 0.5mg this week, and since then I haven't been able to eat anything. I feel a bit weak and hungry, but I can only eat a tiny amount. My weight's going down, but it seems like it's muscle. I'm trying to prioritize protein, but I just can't eat anything – only water or electrolytes. Last week I was complaining that 0.25mg wasn't doing much, but 0.5mg turned out to be too much. I'm still strength training without issues, but yeah, I'm really weak. What should I do? Any tips or experiences you can share, and how did you get through it? Should I go back to 0.25mg? I've only lost 3.5kgs so far (in 5 weeks).

Feeling hopeless after being hopeful

SW: 431, CW: 398, GW: feeling good.

I started ozempic about a month and a half ago- recently on .5 and will be for the next month. On the .25 I lost the 30-ish pounds and was feeling amazing. I’m pairing the ozempic with gym 3x a week (when I can), and an aggressive calorie deficit (tdee: 2400 calories, my goal has been 1800 but have been hitting under- been drinking close too 100 oz of water a day and focusing on protein).

The last few weeks the scale hasn’t moved and no noticeable body composition has changed either. It feels like I’m working really hard to get these pounds of and between some days it goes up. One morning I actually weighed in at 394 and was ecstatic but have been weighing at 396 and above since then.

I know .5 is introductory still and the major loss hasn’t come yet but I can’t help feeling a little miffed. On the .25 I had been losing weight every time I stepped on the scale and it seems like since starting the .5 nothing has changed.

Just looking for some guidance or a kindred spirit who has gone through the same thing and came out on the other side! Am I doing something wrong? Should my calorie deficit be greater?

Overall I’m very excited and happy for where I am- just wishing the weight would keep falling off.

Ozempic as a weight loss support to diet and excerciese

I was wondering if Ozempic can be a reasonable weight loss support for someone who eats exercises and eats relatively healthy, but perhaps bit too much, snacks too late in the day or ...

I am not sure what gives, I was actually borderline anorexic half of my life to the point where people expressed concern. Then I entered my 30s and now, towards my 39th, I went from 75 (65kg at low point) to 95+ kg. It is relevant to say that I am a tall guy, around 192cm, meaning I am not obese.

However, I gained a lot of visceral fat, and it all accumulated around my belly and, while I gained muscle over years in gym and kickbox training, I still do look somewhat disproportional. I feel I started to look a bit like a buoy and people that meet me on the street ask me when did I gain all this weight 😄

I really train a lot, run 4-5 day a week, spend atleast 3 days in either a gym or Muay Thai training, I do cook at home and eat a lot of vegetable and try to prioritize protein. but I do sometimes fall off the wagon. and then eat the wagon. Every once in awhile I will go on carb-a-palooza binge, esp when traveling, but eventually get back in order.

The problem is that a dial is still stuck on 95kg and at best it falls down to 90-92 kg, much of which is water loss.

I used to drink a lot, now I try to do it only twice a week.

I feel I live really healthy and plan to keep on working on good diet and muscle gain, and I feel I am very close to being on a marginal calory deficit, so I wonder if a constant low dose of Ozempic could help push the dial a bit further and help me lose weight while not having to sacrifice much besides uneccesary snacks and larger portions that are basically emotional self-medication.

It feels that I could benefit from the slight increased callory deficit to lose the body fat while retain gaining muscle (using a very small doses) and then perhaps try to maintain that weight thru continued effort and good lifestyle. I reckon losing 10kg of fat requires much more effort then maintaining constant weight, and there are motivational benefits of seeing the body you always want to have and all the visceral fat melt away.

Is this realistic or is this completely delusional and not at all how any of this works?

Building better eating habits while tapering off ozempic

Hi All - I am wondering about your thoughts on whether or not it is a personal issue to "build better food-eating habits while tapering off Ozempic"

I am working on a project designed to help curb cravings through the practice of "urge surfing". While I am not personally taking Ozempic, my understanding is that food cravings resurface once the dose diminishes - is this the case (i.e. food noise)? If so, is this something you are concerned about managing?

I was originally pointed to this by my Uncle. He is worried about staying on the medication for life; therefore, he is trying to taper his dose and wants to practice how to manage food noise when it returns for him.

Has anyone else had it stop working after about 6m?

Currently in talks with my Dr regarding switching to another GLP-1 but wanted to see if there's any similar experiences, I feel like by month 5-7 it completely lost efficacy for me, cravings/appetite/food noise all slowly crept back.

Switched from Saxenda to Ozempic after plateauing — anyone have a similar experience?

Hi everyone!

Looking for some feedback on my situation. I was previously on Saxenda from 2023 until late 2025, and unfortunately eventually stalled. I originally went from 205 lbs down to around 160 lbs.

After plateauing, I started Ozempic about 6–8 weeks ago. I’m currently still on the 0.5 mg dose, but I feel like I’m not really seeing much change yet. I started around 195 lbs and I’m currently around 190 lbs, although obviously I can’t tell how much of that is actual weight loss versus normal fluctuations. I definitely don’t think I’ve plateaued again though.

Has anyone here switched from Saxenda to Ozempic after plateauing, or had a similar experience? Did it take a while before you started seeing more noticeable results?

For context, I’m 25F, my current goal weight is 170 lbs, but ideally I’d like to get back down to around 155–160 lbs. I’m 5’4”.

Honestly, I’m probably just overthinking it and comparing it to how quickly/well Saxenda worked for me originally. I’m just curious what other people’s experiences have been

Starting at a moderate bmi

Hi I’m a 23m 174cm 82kgs that’s starting ozempic/wegovy. I know it’s not like an overly high bmi but I have familial hypercholesterolemia so I was eligible getting it in my country. What has been your results at around bmi 27?

Also I take repatha for cholesterol, but I’m really curious to if anybody with FH on statins or pcks9 inhibitors has seen a greater lipid reduction.

I’m really on this for life as I’m predisposed for getting blood clots and strokes. So both me and my doc thought it was a good idea to get it, as the 25% reduction in coronary events is very welcome. I really wanna reduce my risk as much and early as possible.

Weight Loss Stalled on Week #13

I’m on week 13 of Ozempic, started 1mg on week 8.
I’ve been stalled right around the same weight for the past 2 weeks…
What are y’all’s tips and tricks to get the weight loss going again.
My start weight was 244 and I’m currently stuck at 224 🫩
I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong but I try to keep up with my water intake, I’ve significantly cut down my portion sizes while keeping in mind my protein intake. I don’t have sugary drinks except for my Friday morning almond milk latte (I limit my coffee intake the rest of the week) I stopped drinking alcohol when I started this journey but continue to smoke weed, could that be the issue? I’ll still get the munchies but I usually just have a lollipop or chew on gum because I know I’ll get physically sick if I overeat.

Anyone else feeling weird about “Wegovy face” even though you know you’re healthier now?

I’ve lost a good amount of weight over the past few months, and honestly, I feel so much better physically. My joints hurt less, I have more energy, I’m sleeping better, etc. But lately I’ve noticed my face looks a bit more hollow and tired, especially around my cheeks and under my eyes.

Then I started seeing people talk about “Wegovy face” and “Ozempic face” everywhere online, and now I’m probably paying way too much attention to it.

Has anyone else gone through this? Did your face start looking better once your weight stabilized or your weight loss slowed down?
