grateful but also p*ssed

I’ve been on O for the past four months and have lost 20lbs. I am grateful it is working for me, however, I am also p*ssed. I struggled with my weight my whole life, have Hashis and insulin resistance. I lifted heavy weights regularly, got in my steps, limited carbs and ate very little. Despite the above, I had a pre-D AC1 and impaired glucose/insulin response, and just kept slowly gaining weight year after year. I complained about how frustrating this was to my Dr and she made the offhand comment that if I didn’t have such a healthy lifestyle, I would likely be a diabetic. My naturopath suggested I try O. I’ve had no side effects, its reduced my swelling and inflammation dramatically, and I’ve effortlessly lost weight. I eat more now, exercise less (still stay active, just not obsessively) and can tolerate eating carbs. I am happy that what it is doing to manage my blood sugar seemed to be the missing key for me, but really depressed about the years I spent struggling and obsessing for nothing. I have another 10lbs to lose to get down to my pre-Hashi diagnosis weight and then will maintain. this drug gets a bad rap but considering all of the benefits im happy to be on it for life if that is what it takes. its been a really insight into how easy it is to exist when you are metabolically healthy/normal.

Does lowering dose stall progress?

Talked to my doctor yesterday about lowering my dose from 1mg to 0.5mg because I've gotten pretty bad acid reflux that's been making my anxiety go crazy. He told me it would stall my weight loss progress if I go down and prescribed me some esomeprazole.

I looked into it and am just scared to start a new drug that may not be good for me just to treat the symptom of another. I didn't have the reflux issue until 1mg and now I can only eat around 1500 calories in a day due to fullness. I know weight loss is the ultimate goal but I feel like my daily life is not improving as I just fight through it all.

Has anyone still had success on the lower doses? I'm losing my mind here not being heard. I don't want to take my next dose.

Stomach bug lingering effects?

Hello! So I've been on ozempic since February. Started on .25 and very slowly made my way to 1 mg by April. I've never had any negative side effects except the occasional upset stomach if I ate something too greasy. At the beginning of June I caught a stomach bug that my toddler brought home from daycare. I felt somewhat better after a few days so took my shot like normal. That was a big mistake because it wrecked my stomach!! I skipped the next week and then the 2 weeks after that just did a smaller .5 dose (which felt good no issues). It's now been more than a month since that stomach bug and I thought I was completely fine so I took the 1 mg shot this past Wednesday and once again my stomach is a mess. Sulphur burps, gas pain, diarrhea, some nausea. Is this how I will react now to 1 mg or is it possible my stomach is still healing even though it's been a long time? I don't know if I should just push through the pain and continue 1 mg in hopes my stomach gets back to normal or go back to .5 mg for a month or so. Has anyone else dealt with this?

Thank you!

Issues with GetRaven [Canada]

I signed up to get Ozempic recently with GetRaven and things were generally going well. Shipment showed up packed with freezer packs and the medication was doing its thing. Good times!

Cut to this month, and my pen was sent via Canada Post just before Canada Day. This made me a bit nervous as it seemed like the shipment would be stuck in transit for a day, but I assumed that the company probably thought of this and had taken precautions to ensure it was kept at the correct temperature, even if it got stalled due to the holiday.

The delivery came just after Canada Day and I got it directly from the postal worker at the door, so it didn't sit on my doorstep in the sun at all. The first thing I noted was that the package was warm to the touch. Not great. I opened it and the freezer packs were completely melted/warm like they had been sitting in a hot vehicle for a while.

I quickly Googled temperature ranges for Ozempic and what to do if it goes above 8°C. Found out that it's ok as long as it doesn't go above 30°C. However, the temperatures in my area had been over 30°C for a few days by that point, and if it was kept in a vehicle for the holiday, it likely got hotter than that inside. Based on this, it seemed very likely that it had been over 30°C during part of transit so I reached out to Support to tell them what happened and to see what they could do.

The response I got today basically said that the Ozempic had been shipped with freezer packs and it probably didn't exceed the 30°C limit, but if I *really wanted to* I could call their Pharmacy team. I called them and gave them the story again. The person I spoke to gave me the spiel about freezer packs and said that they couldn't prove that the pen had gone over 30°C during transit. They said that if it *had* exceeded that temp, as long as it wasn't cloudy the Ozempic wouldn't be dangerous to take. Just less effective.

I responded and asked if they were telling me I should take the medication that I had paid a fair bit of money for, even though they couldn't guarantee it would be effective given the circumstances. They got really defensive and said that they were just giving me information and options, but that if I was *really uncomfortable* they could ask Support to send me a new pen.

I responded that the whole reason I reached out to Support was because I strongly suspected that the pen had gotten above 30°C in transit and was concerned about taking it. They got defensive again and said that they didn't know what I had discussed with Support already. I explained that I wasn't trying to be a jerk, but felt like I was being bounced around from department to department.

Ultimately, they decided to send me a new pen and hopefully it'll be shipped correctly, but the whole experience has left a bad taste in my mouth and I think I'll probably end up canceling and going with a different service.

Has anyone else had issues like this with GetRaven or another telehealth provider? Are there any in Canada that don't ship with Canada Post? I don't want to have to argue with customer service to get meds that are shipped at the right temperature again!

Do I need separate needles for drawing the medication?

Another question…

There is such a small amount in the vile I was sent. How do I get the medicine into the syringe? Do I need to have longer needles? Do I need separate needles for drawing the medication and then a shorter one for injection?

So I would love the feedback from real users on what issues they have had while using ozempic.

So I was told I’m pre diabetic and that ozempic is a good option. I have heard so many stories from post on Ig and tic tok but wanted to hear feedback from actual users on what to expect, what to plan for, and what to do and not do.

Weight Loss on 4 mg

I have completed 30 days on 1.5 mg and now 3 weeks on 4mg. Overall, I have seen < 3 lbs of weight loss. Is that typical for other people? Should I be expecting better results on 9 mg or should I consider moving to the wegovy or the zepbound injection?

Anyone else only have a subtle response to ozempic?

I read a lot of people saying they can't eat enough and feel super full and lose weight quickly.

I'm on 1mg but it seems to only have a light effect on me. Like maybe I get full slightly quicker but I still can definitely over eat, still snack, still have cravings. I've been slowly losing but I feel it's due to my calorie tracking. I still need to use will power and struggle at times, I was hoping it would be more of a support

I'm curious if anyone else feels the same? And did it eventually build to a bigger effect with time or an even higher dosage? I'm wondering if I'm just a slow/non responder, as rybelsus also had no effect for me.

Anyone Have Success With Symptom Relief After Lowering Dose?

Hello everyone, just was curious to know if anyone has success with symptoms when reducing their dose. My body pretty much got used to the tummy troubles but once I started taking 1mg about 6 weeks ago, I have had really bad acid reflux. I spoke to my doctor about it because I've never had it in the past and came in with worries of chest pain. After being checked we chalked it up to reflux and he advised I watch what I eat (some foods make it worse), smaller meals, the usual stuff associated with slow stomach emptying that I already know. It made sense so I didnt press.

Unfortunatley, as I go on, I feel like its gotten worse. After every meal I feel the creeping feeling that leads to chest discomfort (its not a sharp pain but its enough that it really triggers my health anxiety.) Its been the worst this week. Somehow, even knowing what it is doesnt help and my mind always puts me in a weird place. I took a single bite of food for dinner and felt like I had an anxiety attack and started crying. I work with a dietician and I simply cant meet her expectations for protein and calories in a day and I have been physically forcing myself (maybe causing me to feel worse) to get to around 1700 average. All of it is driving me crazy and its just been hard navigating as food used to bring me joy and I feel like its slowly starting to cause me fear. I dont want to develop that bad feeling. I'm working hard to make good food choices but I've been struggling.

Smaller meals, walking afterwards, staying hydrated, I'm doing my best and yes those things really help but the feeling persists. Its affecting my daily life/work because my mind is always hyper focused on it until the feeling goes away.

I made an appointment to follow up with my doctor next week and hopefully he will agree to lower my dose back to 0.5. I know its best to talk with my PCP about this, but I also just want to hear from people who have been there. Just wondering if anyone else has had success with this or is this just something I need to learn to deal with? I'm on Ozempic for weightloss but also to help manage my T2D and my doctor was very happy with my blood work last time I saw him. I intended to ask him to lower my dose then but I was so proud I decided to just power through it. But I'm tired of it x.x

I researched over the counter medicine options to help with the reflux but they only seem to be short term relief or I need to be careful cause they block absorption of other meds. Some even say to consult a doctor first so I feel stuck. Thanks to anyone who read all this and has any advice. :)

Replacement for Tirzepatide and Additions

I am 43M and have been taking Tirzepatide/Pyridoxine (3mL Vial) Dosage: 6.375mg for 5 months. I was 195lbs and am now 185lbs. I am fairly happy with the results so far in terms of curbing my appetite.

I would like to find a replacement to curb my appetite and target fat because I am more depressed, have less energy, and really crave sugar after taking TIRZ. This has been documented in some patients

https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10960895/

https://archive.ph/2025.11.15-194526/https://www.thecut.com/article/glp-1-weight-loss-drugs-ozempic-sex-drive-side-effects.html

I have taken taken generic compounded semaglutide from the telehealth company called Ro. It did not work.

Any advice?

What's with the food noise?

Started my way up from 0.25 , now at 0.5 mg. Not many side effects, no difference either. Now after 6 weeks when I jumped to 0.5, the food noise is back, I am eating good enough with negligible difference in my weight.

How do I understand this?

I quit, but maybe I should go back?

I had been on the oz for 5 weeks. During my first week at 0.5mg I ended up in hospital with dehydration. I had a sleepless night of diarrhea, muscle cramps, chills, dry mouth, racing heart rate, basically all symptoms of dehydration other than I was still urinating. This really freaked me out and I knew that I couldn’t be asking for a ride to the ER every week from my family. I admit that I wasn’t taking electrolytes. I assumed that I was eating enough to keep my levels up since my appetite hadn’t changed drastically.

Just weighing out the pros/cons here:

After a week the medication was out of my system and my sugar cravings came on strong. I had a binge and that led to flare ups of 2 conditions that had previously been controlled while on the medication. Maybe it’s worth it to go back just to help those other conditions?

The injection really freaks me out. I can hardly believe that I did it myself for the 5 weeks that I was on it. I used to faint at the mention of a needle. I also feel the stigma around being on the medication. I have 20-30 lbs to lose, so I’m not deathly obese. I’m 5’2” female, currently 188 lbs ish.

I wasn’t having terrible side effects. The night of my injection I would have diarrhea. Then I would have heart burn/burps mostly. Not much nausea. No vomiting. Slight constipation was managed with magnesium at bedtime.

I have a pen with a .25mg dose in it, plus a brand new pen. So I could start again right away. I would obviously talk to my prescriber about re-starting. I used Felix in Canada, and they have already sent me an email offering a re-start appointment at no fee.

Not really expecting any replies. Just needed to talk it out.
