Insurance problems

Hi all! Super frustrating ozempic issues lately and wanted to see if anyone else was in the same boat. Essentially, I was on Mounjaro for a year and a half and it was great but then I totally plataued. In the (foolish, I now realize) attempt to switch things up, I changed to Ozempic, but "had to start at the base level," so I essentially went from the highest dose of mounjaro to the lowest dose of Ozempic. I figured I'd maybe gain a few lbs but then things would right themselves...I was mistaken and have now gained about 20 lbs in 2.5 months. (It should also go without saying that my doctor obv isn't great w/ all things GLP1 but that's a conversation for another day....)

I'm trying to titrate up to the 1mg Ozempic before making the swap back to Mounjaro, but now my insurance is being wonky. I never had a single insurance issue with Mounjaro, but after only 2 months on Ozempic (2 pens - 4 .25 shots, 4 .5 shots), they're now unwilling/unable to fulfill my prescriptions for some inexplicable reason. My 1mg shot can't be filled until Sept. 4 and my .25/.5 shot can't be filled until August 30th. I have valid prescriptions in for both as well as approved PAs for both.

Any idea why/how this is happening? Anyone else experiencing something similar?

I'm T2 diabetic and obese, so it's not as is I'm trying to get Ozempic through some illicit means or something. I lost a good 60lbs on mounjaro but gaining 20lbs of that back over the past 8 weeks has been ... not ideal. So now I'm anxious about ostensibly not having any shots whatsoever until the end of the month, you know?

Anywho, that's all - thanks for any feedback/advice!

Inquiry about dog's energy/demeanor/behaviors post-chemo

Hi! My dog was diagnosed with lymphoma back in December, underwent a full L-CHOP chemo protocol through late April, and was seemingly doing super well throughout May. In early June, though, he started having some bilious vomiting issues and we were able to get that under control, but I feel as though he's been sort of lackadaisical ever since and sort of listless.

I've also noticed that he's started bedwetting a bit and I've noticed that his gait has slightly changed, like his back legs are a bit weaker than they used to be. He's been to his oncologist 2x, an urgent care clinic, and a holistic vet over the past 2 weeks and has had bloodwork, ultrasounds, urinalysis, thorough physical exams, pancreatitis tests, etc.- and nothing was particularly noteworthy or a cause for concern (though, separately, his oncologist did notice a very small hart murmur back when he was first diagnosed that somehow seemingly went away for 6 months, and now, at his most recent visit, it was "louder and more noticeable than it had been before). The oncologist said that he has "the organs of a senior dog," that his stomach lining was "thicker" than normal (she thought maybe gastritis), and that his urine was "dilute," but chalked that up to his age and th fact that he had been on subQ fluids just prior to his urine being tested.

When he was on chemo and multiple pills and supplements at a time, I would chalk up any lethargy or other issues to the cancer or to side effects, but if he's reportedly in remission, I thought he wouldn't be as ... slow? Quiet?

I've also noticed that he's been a little more agitated than usual, his appetite is wildly inconsistent - he'll turned down foods he normally loves and then voraciously eat something else an hour later - and that over the past day or two, he's start nibbling/chomping/itching/biting/scratching at a spot near his crotch/groin/in between his thighs. I actually was lightly petting/patting him on his behind and let my hand go in between his legs and he sort of instinctually sat down, which I also found unusual.

Anywho, I feel like the doctors are sort of starting to lose their patience with me - he's 14 with a seizure disorder and heart murmur and just underwent months of chemo, countless medications, supplements galore, etc. I know he's going to be tired and not at the same energy level but I just want to make sure that that' it - he's just tired, not that there's something else going on that's underlying and somehow gone unnoticed or undiagnosed (diabetes, kidney issues, bladder issues, UTI, prostate problems, Cushing's, etc). Hs lymph nodes are still undetectable, but I've also been very anxious that the lymphoma could've spread and none of the doctors have detected that, but I'm not sure.

Any ideas/thoughts/feedback/advice would be wonderful - thanks, all!

Plateau, medication change, and now weight gain

Hi all - I was on Mounjaro for about 18 months and it was great. I lost about 50 lbs, my A1C dropped, my cholesterol and blood pressure lowered, etc. However, I barely lost any weight at all for the past 6 months or so, so my doctor and I opted to move to Ozempic to try to shake up my metabolism and see if introducing a new drug might help boost the weight loss and help reduce the food noise again.

Alas, I was on the highest dose of Mounjaro and then had to start with the lowest dose of Ozempic, so I knew the shift wouldn't be ideal, but it seems to have done ... literally the opposite? I feel like I can't stop eating. I've probably gained 5lbs since starting Ozempic.

I knew the Mounjaro was helping with the appetite suppression and at least I wasn't gaining weight, so now I'm wondering when/if I should try to change back to Mounjaro? Or just try to ride out the Ozempic and titrate up and see how it works on the higher doses?

I was feeling so great after initially losing the weight, and then I just plateaued for 6 months, so to now start gaining weight on top of that? It's obv. pretty frustrating.

Would love any advice/tips/ideas you all might have - thanks!

Looking for recommendations!

Hi all!

I've been hugely into thrillers/mystery/suspense over the years, but got a bit fatigued of the common plots, devices, characters, etc. - think LaPena, Miranda, Kubicka, Jewell, Lally, Riley Sager, Polly Stewart, Nova Glass, Willingham, etc. So I took some time away from these types of books and now want to make my way back into it.

The only catch is that I'd love to find some that don't involve murders, deaths, suicides, and the like. Also, absolutely no animal harm, abuse, etc. If there's a kidnapping or something, that's fine, but I'm trying to avoid anything beyond that. The twisti-er and more character-driven, the better! I know it's a tricky ask bc so many of these kind of books center around such similar plotlines, but something like Kit Frick's "Friends and Liars" could also work.

If you have recs. outside of thrillers, some recent and all-time faves are Gatsby, Owen Meany, and some more recent ones: Dear Edna Sloane, Such Good People, Flight, Terrace Story, Mercury, Goodbye Vitamin, Gallery Assistant, Cattail Lane, and so on and so forth.

Thanks!

Payment/followup advice after potentially being ghosted

Hi all - back in February, I started a freelance editorial gig. I was doing product testing and was supposed to be paid after the "first round," which would then be followed by an in-depth write up, and once that was published, I'd be paid the second half.

However, the testing took longer than anticipated and there were tons of shipping delays, so correspondence/testing was stretched for months. I last spoke with the editor back in late April, after we had a video chat and she confirmed that all of my work was looking good, and she said to be on the lookout for paperwork and contracts from HR.

They never came - and after 3 or 4 followup emails throughout May and absolutely no response from her - I'm sort of unsure how to proceed. She also quasi-ghosted me back in March and I wound up CCing her colleagues and she replied hours later, so I think I'll try that again, but obviously this has now ballooned to a bigger issue, too - how do I (respectfully, firmly, professionally) ask for paperwork/payment/documents and open up the discussion about how to handle next steps and publication?

Of course, I realize now that it was foolish to start the gig in the first place without signing a contract or paperwork, but I also did freelance work with the same company about 3-4 years ago and was paid after publication and there were no issues, so I just assumed this would be the same situation. Clearly, it hasn't been.

Would love any feedback you all have - thanks!

Handling a deceased rodent on my property

Hi all - curious about how to handle a pest issue and wanted to inquire with you all before attempting to remove/dispose myself.

I'm having some issues with a leaking jacuzzi and had a technician come out to look at it. In doing so, he opened up the wood panels that border the jacuzzi and said he'd be back another day to fix it. He came back a week later and whatever he did didn't fix the leak. In addition, he continued to leave the panels wide open, and now I just noticed that there's a deceased rodent of sorts right in the open space underneath the jacuzzi.

I've read that it's advisable to wear gloves and a mask, spray the rodent with something disinfectant (hydrogen peroxide, bleach, vinegar & tea tree oil, etc.), and then put it in a garbage bag, double knot, then double-bag before disposing in a garbage can. Is it safe for me to do like this? How should I then clean under the jacuzzi itself? It's a very cramped space and I'm anxious about handling the rodent or even using the jacuzzi at all because of airborne virus/hantavirus concerns and other safety issues.

Any advice/feedback would be wonderful - thank you!

Moving from Mounjaro to Ozempic - any feedback?

Hi all! I started Mounjaro back in October '24, but over the past 6 months or so, it's basically stopped working to any sort of legitimate level. I mentioned swapping to my doctor and we've moved to Ozempic.

The only issue is that I was on 15mg of Mounjaro for about a year and now I'm on the base dose of Ozempic. Thought I'd post here to just gauge what I should be on the lookout for, any particular changes to b mindful of re: Ozempic vs. Mounjaro, specific side effects, and any other general tips and tricks or best practices.

I felt like a Mounjaro expert, but now that I've moved to a different GLP1 altogether, I figured I should again do my due diligence - thanks!

Numerous jacuzzi issues - please advise

Hi all - dealing with some annoying jacuzzi issues that continually get more convoluted, so I thought I'd reach out here.

Towards the end of last summer, my jacuzzi started leaking - a lot. Only in one corner, but there'd be a ton of water that'd escape, slowly but surely, especially when running the jets. We shut the jacuzzi down all winter and just started it back up again and contacted our usual pool guy to help fix the leak. He "doesn't do jacuzzis" so we contacted someone else, who at first seemed capable, but oddly cantankerous?

He basically said we needed a flat gasket with a raised rim or ridge that will "fit into the groove of the union connection to the pump," mentioning a molded PVC fitting that screws onto the actual pump has a groove in it for a raised portion of the gasket to fit into." He said that a 2-inch sized piece that connects to the "affluent of the pump" would be great. So we went about finding this product, ordered it, and then he "fixed" it.

However...it did nothing, and if anything, if worsened the leak. In the meantime, he's fully ghosted us, and on top of that, he left the siding of the jacuzzi completely open and exposed, so now I've noticed that we have a deceased rodent underneath the jacuzzi. My dog also gets all riled up around the jacuzzi, so I'm concneredn that there might be more animals unerneath, or perhaps a nest (?) or sorts. Anywho, this is all to say that I'd lov some advice here - who do I contact? How do I fix this the leak? How should I safely remove the rodent? Etc.

Any advice would be amazing - thank you!
