Nobody will service our KwiKool Unit!

I take care of a private aircraft and the KwiKool KHIB1801 unit we use to condition the cabin while we are inside in the hangar is no longer blowing cold air. I have reached out to KwiKool and they do not have any service network and cannot provide any recommendations for repairs and service. We are based at Teterboro Airport in north Jersey, and I've tried calling about 25 local HVAC companies in the area and nobody will even come and look at it. Without this unit the interior of the aircraft climbs to well over 110*f when we're in the hangar and it is extremely urgent we find someone to take a look at this. We're desperate at this point, any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

(FWIW large cabin aircraft don't use freon HVAC systems, so we have no equipment or tooling to work on these KwiKool units otherwise we would dig in ourselves to find the problem)

Feeling like I am forced to feign excitement & interest for my friend despite their crappy attitude.

So, my extremely close friend got me into climbing a few years back in the gym. They had been climbing for about 10 years, and we climbed together 3 to 4 times per week for the first year on top rope, lead, and occasionally bouldering. When the nice weather arrived, I immediately got outside with a guide, discovered trad, began climbing with mentors, and started leading regularly. Meanwhile, they remained indoors bouldering almost exclusively—only climbing outside maybe once a year or so—and we began to drift.

After listening to them talk a big game about all the climbs on their tick list, I soon discovered that they will only climb on top rope outdoors and refuse to even consider sport climbing or following on trad. When asked, they always disparage trad climbing as boring or dumb with no real reasons given, which clearly seems like some type of defense mechanism. I have tried to discuss this in a casual setting, only to be told the same things about it being stupid or dumb or whatever. While I respect their unusual decision to shun any outdoor climbing style other than top roping, I am finding it super hard to be excited about their accomplishments. Their excitement over hanging three times on a 5.11 top rope just builds indifference and resentment within me.

Let me be clear: I do not think trad is inherently "better" than top roping. However, it is so hard to be excited for them hang-dogging a TR, bragging to everyone how they "climbed a 5.11 outdoors" without mentioning the top rope or the multiple hangs, and then giving me grief nearly daily for "only climbing 5.7" outdoors. They fail to mention that my 5.7 is on trad in an incredibly sandbagged area, which is a whole other ballgame when it comes to grading.

I want to support my friend, and I have tried to talk to them on numerous occasions about not bashing my climbing accomplishments, but it continues to fall on deaf ears. I am beginning to feel guilty because their actions are causing resentment-based thoughts to creep in, making me view them as a "poser" or "not a real climber." I don't want to curtail our friendship, but I feel like it might come to a head soon.

Any advice on how to handle this would be really appreciated. Thanks.

Golf R radiator fan compared to GTI rad fan

I recently upgraded from a Mk8 GTI SE to a 20th AE Golf R and I've noticed that the radiator fan on the R seems to be running almost constantly or at least is significantly louder than the GTI was. To ease my paranoia that something is wrong can anyone else chime in about the R fan being significantly louder and running more than the GTI does? TIA

Dingwall Day!

Traded in a PRS I wasn't playing anymore for this gorgeous very lightly used Dingwall NG-3. Got it home and removed the old strings and threw a set of stainless Dingwall 58-170 strings and it absolutely rips.

One week old (to me) Golf R.

Deer jumped the guard rail, nothing I could do to avoid it.

Long time GTI owner about to pull the trigger on an R, is it really that much better?

Long time GTI owner (MkII, V, VI, VIII), and have an opportunity to buy an 8.5 R w/euro package with zero dealer markup. Financially it's completely within my acceptable means, but Im just nervous about my long time dream car living up to the hype I've created in my mind about it. Those who have gone from a GTI to an R, do you have any regrets or was it an amazing decision...
