My cat passed away a week ago, and my aunt thinks I need an intervention because I haven't gotten over it yet. [Bella]

She was 14 years old. I took her in when I was 10, and she lived with me until then. I spent more time with her than without her, and she was a part of most of my life's phases. Cancer took her. It took her when it made her bleed every time she urinated, when she had to take strong painkillers for more than two months, when it forced her to take antibiotics and corticosteroids, painful injections that I had to administer myself. I put an end to her suffering last Tuesday.

Bella died looking into my eyes, yet I stayed in the clinic room for almost two hours holding her body while cleaning the dirt from her paw. She had stopped cleaning herself for a while and the dirt had accumulated. I calmly removed everything and after a long time I forced myself to leave. I also opted for her to have a funeral since the cremation company I hired offered that service. It was very painful, but I don't regret participating in the ceremony; she seemed to be sleeping peacefully. She was beautiful as always, my little doll.

I just want to give a very brief context to my love for this cat, my first cat, the best I could ever ask for.

Today my aunt talked to me and I regret being so honest. She asked how I was doing and I told her I was still feeling very bad, that I missed her a lot, and then she sent me an audio message of almost a minute about how I needed to forget and move on. She said I needed to relax now that Bella was calm and at peace. That I couldn't continue like this, especially since it had been many days. She also said she'd come talk to me tomorrow...

My aunt isn't a bad person, don't misunderstand me or think she's a monster, but I really don't agree with her. I don't even know if I'll ever be able to get over what happened. I'm very fragile right now and I'm not ready for this conversation, seeing where it's probably going. I'm already crying just thinking about it. Do you have any suggestions on how I can handle this situation or what I can say to her? I don't want to be rude, but I'm willing to be firm (but I'll probably cry in any scenario).

My girl seemed to be sleeping peacefully at her funeral, making my last memory with her less traumatic. (second photo, if you're sensitive, don't look)

I had one last traumatic memory; I had to perform euthanasia on her due to bladder cancer last Tuesday, and when I thought of her, I could only remember her vomiting (because she wasn't fasting when she received the first anesthesia), and the weight of that day was overwhelming.

We opted to cremate her to give her a chance to somehow still be with us, and the package we bought offered the option of having a funeral ceremony or not. I almost didn't want have one; nobody in my house wanted to go, and They couldn't accompany me to the euthanasia either, so I understand it's not for everyone, but I'm glad I changed my mind and went at the last minute.

It was very bittersweet, but it made the last memory a little less horrible. If you have to go through a similar situation, it might be worth thinking about. Just saying. Everything is still a mess, and I still feel like I died along with her, but at least I got to kiss my girl's nose one last time.

I have to put my cat to sleep on Monday, I can't accept all this. I don't know what to do.

She is 14 years old and has bladder cancer. She had been in palliative care for over a month, but it became unsustainable to continue. She has stopped eating and is in a lot of pain. It's not fair to her to keep her waiting.

I simply can't accept this situation. Even though she's terminal, I think my mind just ignored that fact. I recently had surgery to remove a tumor from my spine (I found out that the tumor I had there had returned around the same time I found out she had bladder cancer). I feel chronic pain, and my emotional pain hasn't given me any respite either.

I want to stop time.

What the hell do you mean I have to watch my 14-year-old friend, who I've known and lived alongside for most of my life, go to sleep and never wake up?

Everything is painful. Seeing how she has changed is painful. Watching her struggle to pee and it comes out full of blood is painful. Seeing how much weight she's lost is painful. Watching her stop climbing onto the kitchen chair is painful.

I don't know how I'm going to get through this.

Most pet clothes don't seem to suit dogs. 😭

It looks so cute on the cat but so strange on the dog, like the design doesn't fit right and wasn't made with them in mind. This makes me a little upset because I'd like to be able to dress my dogs in a cute way like my cats.

Akane and her thousand suitors

If I'm not mistaken, she's the girl with the most suitors in history. I understand them.

Akane lovers (male edition), what is it about her that hits different for you?

Girls can answer too, but I'd like to hear opinions from men who have her as their favorite. Was it a particular moment in history? Nostalgia? Her personality? What captivated you about her, let's talk about it!
