Late fee in gym membership

I am a woman living in the west and wanted to join a gym with a women's only section. I was able to find a couple and was going to join them, however when I went to enter the membership they all stipulate a late fee if you miss a payment.

I understand that late fees are haram as they are considered riba. I also understand though that living in the west majority contracts have late fees, which is why scholars have made an exception if there is a necessity like rent or school costs.

I guess my question here is could my situation be considered a necessity? There is no other women's only gym in my area that doesn't have any type of late fees in the contract. The only gyms that don't have any type of late fees are all gender mixed gyms.

If anyone has any insights on this, please let me know!

Medical careers for non traditional student that isn’t MD, RN, PA etc?

Hello all

I am currently going into my junior year of college and am a supply chain major. How I chose this major I won't talk about however, I have made the decision to enter the healthcare after I graduate.

I have always loved medicine and everything healthcare, however I was never sure if I should embark such a long journey of becoming a MD, and was just not sure what other path I should take. I also am not sure if I should go upon becoming a nurse or physician assistant or any role where you're always on call and work 12-24 hour shifts and all that.

That's why I wanted to ask if anyone here knows of any other roles that require a masters degree since I already plan on doing one anyways (and maybe even PhD though not sure on that yet) that's also in the medical field but isn't as tough as being a doctor or nurse is and by tough I mean being the actual job not schooling. Like being on call 24/7, long hours, residency etc.

I also wanted to ask for such fields of my undergrad major matters or not. I understand that pivoting from business to medicine might require a little more work like completing the prerequisites for schooling but I have already decided on doing that once I figure out what I want to do.

Here are some careers I have researched. If anyone knows them please feel free to share!

Physical therapy
Occupational therapy
Speech language pathology
Audiologist
Pathologist assistant
Perfusionist (though I know this is a very hard field work wise)

If you are someone who went into the medical field as a non traditional student please let me know your experience! And if anyone knows of other fields I can go into please let me know of them as well

Thanks

TIFU by accidentally using the wrong bathroom with a interesting layout

Hi so basically my family was on a road trip when we stopped at a gas station cuz I had to go pretty badly. I (female) went inside and was just in a rush to find the bathroom, once I found it I walked in to the bathroom thinking it was the women’s. The actual women’s bathroom was out of order and somehow I thought the bathroom I was walking into was for women’s no idea where the heck my head was it but yeah. It was a single stall bathroom so no one was in there.

I went inside and did what I needed to do when I saw there was graffiti on the wall and I was like hmm never seen that before in the bathroom. It wasn’t till I walked out that I realized oh shoot I just used the men’s bathroom.

It’s not really the fact that I used the wrong one especially since the women’s was out of order and I had to go pretty badly, what’s kinda bothering me is the fact that in the bathroom there’s the toilet on one side towards the left then the sink then opposite of that wall was a mirror facing the toilet. In the moment I didn’t even see it cuz I had to go but after I saw the mirror and was like interesting a mirror facing the toilet, though I didn’t think anything of it just thought it was a normal mirror.

But now as a chronic overthinker with raging anxiety it’s kinda making me anxious with the mirror being opposite of the toilet, where u can see yourself going. It looked like a normal mirror nothing about it stood out, but idk. I’ll insert an example photo in the comments of what the bathroom was like incase it’s hard to tell what I’m saying.

Is my anxiety playing tricks on me or and I right to be kinda concerned. Pretty sure it’s my anxiety I’ve been having a really problem with it lately but idk why can’t help but feel weird about the mirror being placed like that.

TL;DR: did I mess up by accidentally using the wrong bathroom with a weird mirror placement?

BTW for everyone wondering why I’m concerned: Been seeing a lot of weird things regarding people being recorded in secret, for ex saw a video of this girl that had a similar situation with a mirror being placed in a really weird spot like right towards the toilet and people saying it could be a two way mirror, made me think about this and kinda anxious, that’s all!

Is a BS in supply chain worth it?

Hi all!

I am a 3rd year college student majoring in supply chain management and I wanted to ask everyone that works in the industry if it is worth getting a degree in supply chain management.

I have heard a lot about SC. I lot of it is good like stable job, needed so not much unemployment, good pay, things like that. I have also heard a lot of bad which is what I want to ask about. Things like it’s a high stress field, having to overwork, bad work life balance, etc.

So I wanted to ask, for anyone in the field, would you recommend it? Since I’m only in college and havent worked directly in my field yet, I’m curious to know if you think it’s worth working in supply chain. Please list your pros and cons of working in the industry.

The things that scare me the most about the industry is that there’s a lot of stress and bad work life balance. How would you describe your work life balance working in this industry?

A lot of what I’ve heard especially for the negatives has made me think twice about entering this industry, so I’d like to know more so I can decide if I want to stay on this major or change.

What other majors would you recommend? I’ve seen a lot of people say MIS or CIS-TECH is also good and you can pivot into SC with it too.

Could you also list your college major and the part of supply chain you work in? I’m also interested to know if anyone thinks AI can replace SC roles as I’ve heard many say that too.

Please give me all the insight you can. Thanks!

Slightly higher blood sugar alarming?

Hi all! This is my first post in this subreddit

So in the middle of May I had my routine blood work done which revealed a slightly higher blood sugar level than normal for me. My blood sugar usually stays in the 90s range, and had been for pretty much my entire life. At my last doc visit it was at 102. And it was my fasting level. Not sure if this changes anything but I was approaching/in the luteal phase of my menstrual cycle.

I equated it to having a lot of sweets the day before?? From what I remember I had a little bit of banana pudding and some ice cream after dinner. I’m not sure how much that would’ve affected my levels though.

When my doctor brought it up I just said I had some ice cream the night before and she was like “ah ok” didn’t really pay much attention to it. I have not had my A1C or anything else tested.

For reference I’m 21, 125 pounds, 5’4. No significant history of diabetes I can only recall my grandpas on both sides having pre diabetes but they only got it in their 50s.

Should I be concerned? I suffer with anxiety especially health anxiety so this has been making me a little worried but I’m not sure if I should look into it more. I do plan on changing my doctor, not really a fan of my current pcp. Should I look into it more with my new doctor? Should I be worried?

Thanks all

Mary Ruth Liquid Iron?

Hi all!

Recently found out my ferritin levels on very low at a 6. I’m thinking of trying the Mary Ruth liquid iron because I’m really scared I won’t tolerate pills well with the constipation. I also have IBS C so don’t really need any more of that.

If anyone has tried this, could you let me know your experience with it?

Iron infusion locations

Does anyone know where I can get iron infusions in Frisco and if so how much they cost/insurance coverage? I’ve recently tested for really low iron levels and am thinking of taking the infusion route but don’t know many places that offer it.

Thanks!

Iron Pills and Fissure

Hi all

Ive been dealing with a chronic fissure for a year and a half. Recently I have been diagnosed with an iron deficiency withy ferritin levels being very low. I know that iron supplements cause constipation, and obviously with dealing with the fissure I CANNOT risk being constipated even once.

Does anyone have any experience with any supplements that hasn't caused any constipation and has helped raised their iron level? I really need to get on them but im so scared to start due to this fissure and the side effects of supplements.

Best supplements that don’t cause constipation?

Hi all!

I’m new to this subreddit. Recently had some rout one bloodwork done that revealed very low ferritin (6). Every other iron marker was normal besides ferritin. I’ve been shopping for iron supplements ever since but I am terrified to take them because of the horrid side effects.

I struggle with IBS C and chronic constipation which has also caused me to have a chronic fissure, so I CANNOT afford to be constipated by any means.

Could you guys please recommend any iron supplements you’ve used that hasn’t caused any constipation and just GI symptoms in general? Either tablet or liquid form.

So far here’s the list I’ve come up with if anyone knows anything about them:

Mega food blood builder
Thorne iron
Mary Ruth’s liquid iron

Thanks all!

Mega food Blood Builder Side Effects?

Hi everyone!

So unfortunately I’m new to this community. Recently had some routine blood work done and reveled my ferritin level was at 6. My iron however was normal.

Ever since that I’ve been looking for iron supplements to take but like most people I’m scared of the side effects.

I struggle was chronic constipation and a nasty fissure caused by the constipation so I can’t really risk getting constipated by any means.

If anyone has taken the Mega food iron supplement could you please list your experience? I’ve read it doesn’t cause constipation so if you’ve used it is that the case? Or if anyone has any other recommendations for iron supplements that won’t cause constipation please share!

Thanks everyone!
