Starting My Upsc Preparation

Hi everyone,

I'm planning to start preparing for UPSC CSE from scratch, and I'm looking for the best English-medium resources. I'd really appreciate recommendations from experienced aspirants.

A few questions:

- Which English YouTube channels are the best for UPSC preparation (GS, Polity, History, Economy, Geography, Environment, Ethics, etc.)?

- Are there any complete free lecture series that you would recommend?

- What's the best strategy for solving PYQs? Should I start them from the beginning or after completing each subject?

- Which NCERTs (Classes 6–12) are essential?

- How do you manage current affairs and make notes effectively?

- Any websites, Telegram channels, or free resources that you found genuinely useful?

A little about me: I'm an engineering student entering my 3rd year. My plan is to use my 3rd and 4th years to build a strong UPSC foundation with consistency while managing college. After graduation, I'm planning to take a one-year drop dedicated entirely to UPSC preparation before attempting the exam. My medium is English, and I want to make sure I'm following the right resources and strategy from the very beginning.

I'd really appreciate your suggestions on the best YouTube teachers, study resources, and preparation strategy. If you've followed a similar path during engineering, I'd love to hear your experience as well.

Thanks in advance!
