I flew yesterday from Helsinki to Copenhagen to Oslo to Newark, NJ. The extended itinerary was the result of SAS cancelling my original flight (Helsinki -> Copenhagen -> Newark) and it being the only option. I got to Newark and was told my bag was still in Copenhagen. I filed a delayed bag report and asked that the bag be delivered to me. Last night I got an email from FedEx with tracking information. The FedEx website states that the “package” is 25lbs when I know my bag was over 50lbs. Should I be concerned that the bags been tampered with? It also stated it’s being sent via Priority Overnight but in checking the tracking info this morning, it still just says “label created”. What should I do?

Just saw an ad for the Kylie Jenner Meta Glasses and as a woman, I truly cannot think of enough pros to outweigh the cons. Outside of applications similar to the “Be My Eyes” app (allows the blind and visually impaired to receive assistance from people all over the world) and uses for the elderly/disabled, they just seem more dangerous than they’re worth. Aside from the obvious privacy issues, I feel as though they’re just a way for Meta to normalize involuntary participation in data farming and take advantage of wearers “willingness” to record the world around them. Meta’s business model revolves entirely around collecting, manipulating, and selling data so the glasses format just serves as the means to an end. Doesn’t matter how innocent the intentions of the wearer are, whatever they capture or input, is being used to improve algorithms and thus tech companies’ ability to manipulate our habits, desires, etc. Someone I know has a pair and argued (literally as we were having a conversation and they were wearing them) “Well if someone doesn’t like it I’ll just turn them off or delete the recording” but that doesn’t matter! Meta already has that info to do with what they will. Other than general AI’s proliferation in our day to day lives, Meta Glasses and similar devices are the greatest example of technology getting ahead of ethics and reasonable control. Would love to know if anyone has any positive examples of how they are a necessary or otherwise “better than not” tool!

My job brought therapy dogs in for us to visit with today as it’s a particularly stressful time of year for us. As I was cycling through greeting each dog, one of the handlers overheard me mention I had a Pomsky and immediately started gushing about how badly she wants one and how beautiful they are. I immediately launched into my standard spiel about how while our girl is VERY beautiful (and knows it too), the person who came up with this mix should be jailed or put in an asylum (in jest of course).

Don’t get me wrong, I love my girl to death and would move heaven and earth for her, but god damn these suckers are nuts. I spared no detail about how our girl shredded our leather couch, can escape any crate/fence/baby gate put in her way, is as spiteful as the day is long, and hasn’t met a substance on earth that she thinks is inedible. This woman was stunned at my description. I wouldn’t change a hair on our little fluff’s body but I do think it’s important to be honest about what Pomsky ownership entails (hehe get it?) I mean you’re getting the stubborn, loud, destructiveness of a Husky with the fierce loyalty, velcro-dog, yappiness of a Pomeranian (and I have one of those as well). Pomskies may be crazy, but they’re our kinda crazy!

So, what do you say to people when they express interest in owning a Pomsky, if anything at all?
