Joined Salesforce 3 weeks ago, just received a much higher offer — should I talk to my manager?

I joined Salesforce in India in July 2026, at a ₹15 LPA base.

Today, I received an offer from Cisco for ₹24 LPA base. I wasn’t actively looking to leave Salesforce, and honestly, I would prefer to stay at Salesforce because I like the company/role and see better long-term value there.

The problem is the compensation gap — ₹15L vs ₹24L base is significant.

Would it be reasonable to have a conversation with my Salesforce manager about this, despite having joined only ~3 weeks ago?

I’m not looking to make demands or threaten to leave. I’d essentially want to say that I’ve received this offer, Salesforce is my preference, but the compensation difference is substantial, and I wanted to understand whether there’s anything Salesforce can do.

Questions:
Is it too early to have this conversation?
Would this make me look like a flight risk after only 3 weeks?
Is it realistic for Salesforce to do anything about compensation this early?
If Salesforce says they can’t match, would you still stay if Salesforce was genuinely your preferred company?
Would especially appreciate perspectives from managers/HR/recruiters who have dealt with similar situations.

Fractional GTM ENGINEER

Is anyone here working as a fractional GTM engineer while balancing a Full time role at another company

If yes, how did you become a F GTME- what are the hours and pay like?

reddit.com

NEED ADVICE

I just joined a full time job at Salesforce (Revenue ops Program Manager in the Sales Department). I want to switch to GTM engineering in the long run but i want to freelance for a bit before fully transitioning (To get experience bc I’m new to the field)

ideally, I want a remote job that pays in USD.

Is anyone in this subReddit based out of India or anywhere in the world who are also freelancing at a US or UK company (or any other location)

Here’s why you should celebrate if you get rejected for Google Apprenticeship

Ex apprentice here. Only gonna spill the truth so let’s fucking goooo

  1. You have no say in the team you join or the projects you work on. You can be a SWE mapped to an events team as a Project Management team organising events and managing vendors (which is a derail if you wanted to do Tech Project Management) changing teams is a big hassle and since this is a two year program, if you switch mid way it’s not sufficient to learn anything from the new team or build meaningful connections or do anything impact full.

  2. The pay is not as per industry standards and you’re clearly getting exploited. 6LPA is low, even for Google, especially given how much work is dumped on apprentices and how they are expected to work over time and on weekends

  3. Google will (almost) never hire you full time. Yes the JD says you can apply for full time roles during the last three months of the program but apprentices and hiring managers despise hiring apprentices. This three month rule is just a myth. Apprentices rarely convert. Like 2-3 in a batch of 200-250 (only due to strong connects) The apprentice tag ruins your profile rather than helping you. Proof: LinkedIn. Look at the profiles of the latest graduates of the program- most of them are either unemployed or joined smaller companies.

  4. Apprentices are treated like dog shit. No respect at all. Not invited to events, parties (except year end party) town halls, team dinners etc. they are only remembered when work needs to be dumped. They’re also treated like shit by Apprenticeship management team and recruiters.!

  5. Quality of work is shit. Since you’re an apprentice you won’t get access to all the internal tools. Most of the times you’re stuck with grunt work like scheduling meetings or taking meeting notes.

There are many reasons.
I see a lot of people saying they feel bad for getting rejected. But trust me, y’all dodged a bullet. Please focus on full time roles only.

Also I’ll not be replying to any DMs asking me for help bc this post clearly discourages people from considering this. Only if you have valid questions , drop a comment and I’ll answer it publicly.

Good luck!!!

If yes

  1. How did you find this opportunity
  2. How long have you been in this space
  3. What’s your Pay wrt hours (if you’re free lancing)
  4. Are there any companies that hire freelancers (global remote) that also convert freelancers to full time if they perform well?
  5. Any tips to know before getting into this

Things to keep in mind before applying

Hi! I’m a 2026 graduate. Sharing my honest experience here

  1. Apprentices are treated poorly. Not invited for team dinners/offsites/events, etc (there may be some exceptions depending on the team but this is the broader trend)

they are only remembered when work needs to be dumped on them. There is literally no work life balance. We are treated like some external vendors

  1. Each year the cohort size increases so the value of the program falls significantly. Most full time employees complain constantly that apprentices act like college students and shouldn’t be taken seriously. Also because hiring apprentices helps Google save taxes not bc they want to help upskill us which is their secondary motive
  2. The Google apprentice tag doesn’t help. I’ve been unemployed since a few months. Along with so many people I know so please if you have a full time job- keep it. Don’t switch from full time to an apprentice. It’s not worth it at all.

Let me know if you have any more questions- happy to answer honestly.

Why has this come on my feed now?

If she is so concerned about society taking the father or husband’s surname

  1. Why did she take her father’s surname before marriage?
  2. Why did she take her Husband’s surname during marriage?
  3. Why did she revert to her father’s surname post divorce?
  4. Why did she give her Akhil’s surname to the child?
