India Private tour guide

I (28F) and my husband (28M) would like to travel to India for a portion of our honeymoon. We would like a tour guide who is knowledgeable and can even assist us with choosing places to eat meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) and private transportation.

I would like to do something similar to the following itinerary:

  • Delhi - Leader-led Old Delhi walking & rickshaw tour
  • Delhi - Visit to the Jama Masjid Mosque
  • Agra - Local Guide (Full Day)
  • Agra - Agra Fort
  • Agra - Taj Mahal
  • Fatehpur Sikri - Guided tour

I am looking to do this in 3 days. Does anyone have any tour companies they can recommend? We would like to do this as a couple and not a group.

10K budget turned to 30K?

To preface things, I had a quinceanera with over 150 guests, with a budget of ~50K, all paid by my parents. I did not want one, but they insisted. The venue my parents booked, looked and felt expensive. Half my guests were underage, so we did not invest much into booze.

I had my wedding a couple weeks ago at a restaurant. My initial budget for the wedding was 10K (unbeknownst to my family). When initially discussing my wedding plans/budget with them I was very vague and said "I don't want to spend too much". I also wanted to limit my guest count to 80.

After telling my parents this, they gifted me $20,000 to spend towards the wedding. We did not budge on the wedding guest count/budget, but we did invest more into our guest's experience.

Some things we initially did not plan for, but booked after receiving the $20K (now a $30K budget total):

- Open bar

- Videographer

- DJ

- Passed appertizers

- The highest tier buffet option (we initially opted for the cheapest buffet option)

- Day of coordinator

- Hairstylist for myself, my mother and sisters

I had a good time at my wedding, but I can honestly admit that it did not feel as regal/expensive as my quince. We had a family breakfast after the wedding and we were all debriefing. Everyone had a good time, including my parents (they told me explicitly). I mentioned that I was so happy about the outcome despite our smaller budget, and my dad mentioned "a wedding is something you should be spending a lot of money on tho, it's once in a life time". I don't know what their expectation were, but I can't help but feel bad that I did not optimize their money (even tho I know I did the best I could), invite more guests or increase my initial budget.

Anyone else have some sort of guilt after their parents helped fund their wedding, but not meeting their expectations?

Disassociating during the wedding has lead me to major post-wedding anxiety

Before reading this, please note that I will be seeing a therapist about this, but wanted to find community regarding this topic.

I got married at the end of July. I have been on high alert for the past few months due to the stress of wedding planning. Right before walking down the aisle, as guests were being seated, my nan fell, broke her hip and got sent to the ER.

I noticed myself start to disassociate during the ceremony - thinking about what else could possibly go wrong and if my nan was going to be okay. I remember maybe 50% of the ceremony which isn’t too bad.

Now comes the reception…. a few drinks + tendency to disassociate = disaster. I can only remember the things that were going wrong, and trust me a lot went wrong. I have the worst anxiety about my wedding because I can only remember things that went absolutely horrific and have convinced myself that my guests had a horrible time.

A day after my wedding, I confided in my closest friends to get reassurance that they enjoyed themselves. They told me they did. I didn’t believe them. They sent me so much video/photo poof - and it honestly looked like a blast. It’s upsetting because I also have photo/video proof that I was enjoying myself at the reception. I even have plenty of photobooth photos that I don’t even remember taking.

I spoke to my husband about this, and he said it was the best day of his life. I feel so awful, because I don’t feel the same way about the day, because I only remember the bad aspects.

Has anyone else felt this way?

PEO (Professional Engineers Ontario) CBA feedback

I have passed my NPPE a few months ago. I submitted my application + CBA, and got a notice of proposal to refuse my license shortly after. I was told to resubmit the CBAs where I did not meet the minimum scoring requirements. Unfortunately, I did not receive feedback for all of my competencies (only received a few).

Where can I get feedback for my newly written CBAs or see an example of approved CBAs? Really want to avoid re-submitting a third time.

Is it normal that we are only allowed to choose one song for the processional?

I would like to walk does the aisle to bridal chorus, however, the church that I am getting married in explicitly states that "only one piece is played during the entrance of the bride and her attendants – the bride does not enter alone". We are having a live organ player. The song is about 2-3 minutes long. Is this enough time for my fiance, bridal party and I to walk down the aisle?

Convince me to get a wedding content creator?

I am spending $5000 for professional photography and videography. I budgeted for $6000 in total for coverage (so currently below budget).

I have seen so many brides on TikTok saying they are extremely happy they splurged on getting a wedding content creator.

I’ve inquired it looks like the average cost for 8 hours is $1000.

The only pro I see is getting the content immediately after (my photographs with be delivered in 2-3 months).

Should I save the $1000 or get a content creator?

Transportation on the day of the wedding?

Budget bride here, I was thinking of booking an Uber XL to get from my downtown Toronto hotel to downtown Toronto ceremony to my North York reception. Is this going to be reliable?

Day of Coordinators

Hey everyone, debating whether or not I should get a day of coordinator.

for those who got a coordinator: How much did you pay and do you think it was worth it? What could have gone wrong if you didn’t have one?

for those who did not get a coordinator: Did you regret not having one? Were you able to manage without a coordinator?

Can I put “engineer” as my work title?

Just passed my NPPE (Canadian engineering licensing exam) and finished my application. I submitted the application for review on April 17th. If everything is good, I will get my license within 90 days (July 16th).

I just started a new role as an “Associate Engineer”. Can I update my LinkedIn with this new title, or am I at risk for getting reported as I don’t officially have my P.Eng yet.
