I've been an engineering TW for 8 years and have been tasked with coming up with an independent development plan for my career. I have the resources to enroll in classes to further my skills. I have previously taken AutoCAD and Inventor courses and my current job has me creating installation instructions via AutoCAD and Word/Adobe. Because I've only ever worked at the same place since college I worry that my scope of skills and knowledge is limited and if I were to seek employment as a TW elsewhere I wouldn't have the competitive edge I'd like.

So, I would love to hear from other TWs if there were any courses you took that you felt were beneficial for your career growth and versatility. My educational background is in biochemistry and research papers and I kinda fell into engineering TW out of college. I've mostly learned on the job as far as engineering drafting standards go without having formal engineering education. Thank you in advance!

I'm a lifelong cat owner who recently lost my cat to genetic heart disease and my bond with her was so special because it felt like she chose me. When I adopted her it was in San Diego where the shelter had a large open playroom of a bunch of cats walking freely. All I had to do was walk in and she ran right up to me and licked me. I knew she was the one.

I'm now looking to adopt another cat but have never been to the shelters or rescues up here. All of the pictures I see of various places just show the cats in little locked boxes where I assume you just get a first impression by asking an employee to let you greet them individually.

Does anyone know of any open playroom shelters, OR have personal testimonies recommending a specific shelter they have been to? Does it really not matter if they are in individual little quarantined areas for you to get a vibe on whether the cat you meet is one who chooses you?

Our current manuals are either all in AutoCAD and printed out into PDFs from there, or are in Word and the AutoCAD 2D illustrations are copied/pasted into Word then printed as PDFs. I'm looking to see what others who make instruction manuals with AutoCAD illustrations use to create and publish. Considering learning Adobe InDesign if that's an easier way to make these documents.
