How do I stop feeling stuck while my brain’s running a mile in a sec?

Recently decided to do a career switch to a completely different field. I have so many things I’m supposed to be learning right now but my brain decided that it’s just the time to watch all marvel movies in a chronological order.

I’m supposed to be learning the basics/fundamentals to few topics but my brain is thinking far ahead about stuff I don’t even know in the subject. I should be learning the basics to be able to even understand that first. My brain just refuses to get off that train.

How do I stop doing that?

How does one build a “lab” and do self-made projects?

Lately I’ve been into SOC and I see people on linkedin post projects(?) like “how I detected ___ using ___ tool.”

I came across a few terms saying things like “made a homelab”, “I built my home lab” and what not. Is it just making a VM? Or is there more to it?

And how to do you make self-made projects? Do you “fake” attack your own device and analyse it in a different VM?

I really want to start making my own portfolio(?) and I don’t really have a clue on how to start one?

For cybersecurity recruiters -

As someone who’s just starting out and looking for intern/full-time roles in SOC, what do you usually look for in a resume? What type of resumes immediately stand out from the rest?

Do I come back or stay back as a Fresher? Read context:

Ever since my dad got a really good job in Dubai, we (me, my mom and my brother) have been going back and forth for several years now. Since 2021, we lived in Dubai for 4 years until the recent issue (I did my undergrad and masters there). Due to certain circumstances that I will not elaborate, I’m thinking of going back to Dubai to live with my dad.

I recently graduated and I’m working on my certifications for entry level security operations/blue team roles. Sure it is easier to find intern options back where I’m from but I really don’t want to live here (not because blah blah Dubai is fancy and stuff but more on how I feel independent there rather than where I’m now).

So now my question is: Would that be a stupid decision? because I know how brutal it is to be a fresher who’s looking for jobs in Dubai. What do I do? I mean I could always look for remote jobs from my country but I want to experience office environment.

[Hair type- 2b?] I’m confusion. My first doing a routine.

https://www.reddit.com/r/curlsofindia\_/s/JPGTAlIb30

I’m back again after trying out a routine suggested by some. The first pic is right after styling (not dried) and the second is air dried. My first time ever doing a routine. What am I doing wrong? Why does it still look super frizzy and puffy after air dried? Why are there curls only at the bottom? Did I scrunch it wrong?

I have a few doubts as well:

  1. Do I have to apply leave in cream while I’m in the shower? I mean like right away once I’m done with conditioner. Or do I step out and spray water and scrunch once I’m out and in my bedroom?
  2. Was I supposed to apply oil right after curl gel while my hair is still wet?
  3. Is it right to scrunch out with cotten towel in the end? Or is that why my hair is still frizzy?

I have both my bachelors and masters in criminology and criminal justice. I have heard that to get into digital forensics, I would also need to be knowledgable about aspects in cybersecurity. I have a slight idea about what I need to know but I’m not sure to what extent.

If anyone is in the similar field, tell me what I need to be learning? Currently, I am learning like the super beginner terms in network basics. Took me a while but I managed to download unbuntu linux on my laptop. I’m not sure where to go now. Would really appreciate if anyone could guide me through step by step :(

Also are there any certifications I should know about too?

I was racking my brain through what possible career options I can go for after my Msc in criminology. I was feeling super overwhelmed but recently I came across cyber crime investigators. It immediately felt like “AH HA! I really wanna do that.”

As you know already know, I’m slightly starting to regret my degree. Is it still possible to go into this without having any background in cybersecurity or computer science? Can I make it up with learning the skills required?

I’m 23 and I would really appreciate if someone could guide me through this. What skills to begin with and which should I prioritise first for an entry role? To be honest, any help would be appreciated.

(Btw before I begin yes the frizz is crazy and I have hard water and currently in the process of getting a filter)

Like about 2-3 years ago I had straight hair I swear like pin straight hair. I have no clue what happened and how. I am not even sure if it’s wavy or curly. My cousin told me I may lie in between 1C or something.

This is my hair air dried fresh out of the shower. Is it possible for your hair to get wavier as you grow older? I have no clue how to manage this and make it look less frizzy. I have heard about “fix my curls” products a lot, are they any good? Please suggest an affordable routine I can follow.

I do have both my bachelors and masters degree in psychology and criminology. Recently I found myself super overwhelmed with what to do and boom I found out about cyber investigations/digital forensics/cybersecurity (I don’t know what definitive name to use). It felt like a real “AH HA!” moment and I really want to get into that.

As you can tell, I don’t have any background or knowledge in CS or IT side. I was hoping someone could guide onto how to transition. Would also really appreciate if someone who’s already in that field to guide me.

Edit: I am looking at some stuff and would not having a degree in CS or cybersecurity, make it difficult?

My qualifications are bsc psychology with criminology and msc in criminology with criminal justice (which I did not do in India). I came back to india and my options feel so less. My relatives are telling me to pursue law school. I’m really not sure about studying again because adhd :( Others are saying join police and try for IAS.

Why did i have to pick a subject thats so niche? I should’ve just shut my mouth up and went with business or IT.

I am South Indian. I pretty much grew with a lot of influence around Bollywood and Hindi in general. I took Hindi as my second language in school until 10th grade. Right now, it’s been what 6 years? I think. I am still a bit knowledgable with Hindi words and I can speak quite well if you give me a bit of time to think and structure it in my mind. I understand Hindi 100% but just struggle here and there in speaking it.

I really want to learn Marathi because everyone from my nani’s side are all from Pune (born and brought up). For my nani’s sake, I want to learn Marathi to surprise her.

Where do I even begin?
