It's being widely reported that apparently Asmodee have put out an email to retailers telling them they can order the SPCs and dispatch will be mid July time. God help us all. Who is getting in line for one of these?
Just picked one of these up for £300, definitely my biggest purchase so far. I'm hoping that with the impending 30th set this will see big increases, I'll probably hold and then hopefully trade it towards a big card I need. Do you think I got a good deal or did I waste my money?
I have someone that wants to do a straight swap with me (3 of my cards for 3 of theirs) but we are wanting to do it online as we live too far away from each other to meet in person. Is there a way to do this via a platform that would offer some form of protection like eBay or something? Wondering if anyone has any suggestions or has done something like this before?
I have now completed the FP1 and 2 sets so I'm moving the highlighted cards into a new page to complete the full image, so I now want to put 3 new cards of the Kanto starters in their place.
I already have the 151 IRs on a different page so I can't use those, so any other suggestions that are not the 151 IRs or the FP1 cards would be much appreciated!

Personally I have started to add some Black Bolt to my collection as I feel it's an amazing and underrated set with an insane amount of great cards, and still sitting at a fairly attractive price. You can grab PC ETBs for not a huge amount more than a normal one and it doesn't seem to ever get restocked. Not sure when it goes out of print officially but I would imagine it is due a huge bump in prices when that does happen. Interested to know if other people have the same views?
Yesterday my cat Coco (Tuxedo) escaped, she is very much an indoor cat and very timid. My other cat Tifa (Calico) was here the whole time. Coco found her way back last night but ever since she has become brave enough to leave the nook she hid in behind my bookshelf, Tifa just hisses and growls at her. It's like she doesn't recognise her scent now at all. They are sisters and have lived together for all their 1 and half years of life. Does anyone have any advice or should I just let them figure it out themselves? They are currently in the same room but Tifa is just giving Coco death stares constantly and when they get too close the hissing and growling starts. Pictures attached from happier times.
I've been having some terrible luck lately to the point I've opened over 160 packs of Ascended Heroes and not hit a single SIR, I then purchased so much Chaos Rising (1 PC ETB, 3 regular, 20 single packs, 2 triple packs, 2 booster bundles and a check lane blister) and the bad luck continued with no SIR.
Was on WhatNot the other day and won a free pack of Chaos Rising from a giveaway which arrived today, and I've just pulled this absolute beauty! So happy that my dry spell is over and the fact it was a single pack that I won makes it even sweeter.
I know it's not the most valuable card but it's definitely going in the PC as the artwork is so nice.
My favourite card so far and finally an IR that isn't Chespin from this set I've pulled 5 Chespin and 2 Sligoon IRs
Really happy with the Chespin pull already. Have so much left to rip so hoping for the froakie, frogadier and of course Greninja!

I'm about to get a decent chunk of money and I've been thinking about putting some of it into some sealed to hold for a few years. Just wondering what people think is the best choice to buy and hold right now?
I'm not looking for a quick return, I'm probably gonna hold for 5+ years so looking for something that will continue to appreciate each year and hopefully be easy to liquidate once I'm ready. Probably gonna drop about £1k total on this so there's quite a few options in that price bracket.
Should I just grab like 3 PC Ascended Heroes ETBs or maybe grab a booster box of an older set? I feel like the ship has sailed with 151 as the entry price is so high now that the ROI is probably not going to be as high as a brand new set like AH, but I'm happy to hear others opinions on this. I'm assuming that it might be hard to sell an ETB that costs over £1k, and maybe something like a booster box would be more desirable due to the large number of packs?
I know that no one has a crystal ball and I know that taking investment advice from Reddit is dumb, if the market crashes and I lose my money I don't care, I'll just rip and enjoy, just interested to hear peoples thoughts. Thanks in advance!
You may remember a few days ago I posted about completing my Kanto starter binder page. Well after several great suggestions I decided to go with the original base set cards to complete the page and here is the final result!
How do you think it looks? Should I keep them in this order or should I perhaps change? I think it's cool as it goes oldest to newest so I'm pretty happy with it but also open to suggestions.
I finally have all of the Mega Attack Rares. Had to buy them as my luck has been terrible (see 0 SIRs for confirmation of this) but I will continue to press on!

I haven't been able to get anymore first partner boxes so haven't been able to complete the set to complete the full image, I probably will buy the missing cards one day but I'm collecting other things currently and kind of like the idea of having a page dedicated to just the Kanto starters as I'm old and they are my favourites.
Now onto the actual topic, does anyone know of any cool full art cards of the Kanto starters that would look nice on that bottom row I'm my binder?
I don't want to spend a fortune on these ideally, I'm fairly new to collecting although I was massively into Pokemon in the 90s/00s so there is a huge gap in my knowledge of what cards are out there.
Would be interested to hear what cards are out there that I don't know of. I have absolutely no problem with Japanese cards in fact I kind of prefer them so I'm happy if they are JP exclusive cards etc.

Grabbing the Blastoise from 151 and some MARs from Ascended took me over £3k.
Pretty crazy considering over £2k of that is just cards and I don't consider that I have a huge collection or a particularly crazy collection either. I'm mostly getting Japanese cards too for the personal collection and alot of what I have isn't even in Collectr just the bigger ones.
I think this just goes to show that the value of pokemon cards is kind of crazy right now, anyone else surprised to see how much their shiny cardboard is worth?
I just purchased this card on eBay and as soon as I got it out of the top loader I noticed loads of dirty marks on the back even though it was listed as being NM. I looked back at the listing and the dirt is kind of visible in the picture. The listing title says (see description) in it but the description is just AI generated and makes no mention of the damage, it even doubles down on it being near mint. What do? Valid return or do you think it's my fault for not looking at the picture close enough? The dirt only shows in certain light conditions so it was hard to get pics but i think you can see pretty clearly how bad it is. This was a £100+ purchase so is definitely the biggest I've done so far, and even though I don't plan on grading I do feel like if you are listing as NM and for NM price that's what the card should be.
I thought people might appreciate how the set has been for someone who hasn't been as lucky as others with the pull rates, so here is how my master set is looking after opening every single available product for this set minus the Emboar EX box which is arriving next week. I haven't purchased any singles at all so this is how it looks purely from what has been pulled. All products purchased at RRP.
First we had the sticker collections, I only managed to get one of each of these, so the Ghastly, Charmander, Erica and Larry blisters. So 10 packs.
Then we had ETBs, I was lucky enough to get 2 Pokemon Centre ETBs so the first thing I opened was one of those and a normal ETB, I then managed to score 2 more normal ETBs through lottery allocation and a Smyths restock, so 38 packs there.
Then came the mini tins, this is where I struggle to remember exactly how many I got but I know that I got at least 7 of these through Argos and Very, I may have got more but let's say that's at least 14 packs.
Then the poster collection happened, I got one of each of those so that's another 20 packs.
Finally and most recently, the booster bundle and the ex boxes, I got one of each product so that 18 packs total with 4 I still need to open (very delivery is so slow!)
So, that's a total of 96 packs of Ascended Heroes (I think it might be more as I did buy some single packs and more mini tins and potentially another ETB but I can't remember exactly what I got) and these are the results in my picture.
The pull rates for SIRs has been non existent for me, MARs also has been brutal, I've pulled 2 and they were duplicates, and it was Mega Elektross, someone gave me Mega Diancie in a trade hence why I've got 2 in the stats. IRs and EXs seem to come fairly often but I do find that certain products have literally nothing in them sometimes. One of my ETBs had just EX cards and no IR.
Regarding the base set, some cards have somehow completely alluded me (looking at you Kirlia) and still have quite a few Ex cards missing.
I think I am probably done with buying this set now, and will now move to buying singles. How has everyone elses experience been with Ascended Heroes?
