What's the deal with my apples?
I have two backyard apple trees - no idea what type or anything they are, they were here when I bought the house. Are these markings some sort of disease, or just something with the way the apples grow?

I was just gifted an Anova Precision Cooker 3.0 for my big 30 birthday. I've heard tons about sous vide and seen plenty of videos, but never gone deep into the research on recipes and methods. I've wanted one for a long time, but have no clue where to get started.
What are some "sous vide for dummy" recipes to get my feet wet? I have a vacuum sealer and a large pot to use as a container. Thank you!
A family member is considering getting their roof replaced by Alliance Exteriors. Has anybody dealt with them or bought a roof from them? Positive or negative experience?
I'm adding some Cat6 runs to rework where the modem/router are located in my house and used an old work plastic box. The kind where you screw it in and the two tabs 'hug' the back of the drywall. Do they make wall plates for those boxes that kind of 'cup' the box so they can sit flat on the wall? Or is there another solution that I'm just totally missing?
I'm getting a drop ceiling (2x2) put in my basement, and I'm looking for lighting options. It's a fairly short basement ceiling - I won't know the exact height until after the ceiling track is installed, but it should be right at or slightly above 7 feet. The main room is rectangular with a single pillar. There are some other areas off of the main room (closets, parts of other rooms, etc) but I'm not worried about those as they have their own lighting. Just looking for the best options for lighting up the room. Leaning towards wafer pucks over panels, but not sure about 4 vs 6 inch, number, spacing, etc. I would prefer something that can go on a dimmer.
Thank you!
(all measurements in inches; the 208" is not a wall but just a measurement for how far the pillar is away from that wall)
So I'm actually running a pair of Cat6, but figure this would be the place to ask.
I'm trying to run 2x Cat6 cables down into the basement through an exterior wall. Two questions:
Is there a good way to get the hole drilled through the floor (inside the wall) without requiring drywall repairs? I can't come straight up from below as the basement has a finished wall and I can't get a drill + bit angled in there. I tried an 18" installation bit from the top, but I can't quite get enough angle to get down into the floor board.
Obviously the exterior wall has insulation so I can't just look in there and see the hole (once I eventually get it drilled). What's going to be the best way to fish the wire up (or down)? On hand I have a 5' flex glow rod.
Thank you!
I have a couple of outlets in my basement where the outlet is very loose. Looks like whoever did this reno mounted the boxes flush to the stud instead of flush to the wall. How can I fix this?
