Do other Google Local Guide get frustrated when their review isn't publicity posted for whatever reason when they basically follows the rules when it comes to writing review?

I wrote like 10 reviews in the last 3 days and saw that 3 are not showing publicly. I followed all the rules, have only pictures attached and also answered those additional questions like wheelchair accessibility, vegetarian, parking and so on.

The trick I usually have to do is delete the review, wait a day and then try posting it again. It's annoying, I don't have this issue at all on Yelp.

Where has been the most random place you left a review for on Yelp? I seen people leave reviews for freeways, clouds, even Yelp error message. I leave reviews for businesses I visited or services I used, parking structure or lot, schools, cities but never like random things. I was surprised to see people leaving reviews for freeways especially since I live in Los Angeles

Is someone line of work or career going to play an important part when you're considering dating them long term? I'm not speaking about people in their early 20's, more toward people in their late 20s and into their 30s. So this can limit out people working at fast food places or regular retail store (certain place I can understand like Costco when looking to move up in the rank). I know the job market right now in the US is not good.

Well it finally happen for me today. I hit the daily check in limit at 25 places on the Yelp app. I think I heard before it was 20 as the limit but today I checked into 25 different places in 4 cities and I finally got hit with no more check for today message LOL

If a man is in his late 20s still lives with his parents, would that be a turn off for you? What happen if the man is solely responsible for all financial responsibilities or they took over the house mortgage. Like in Asian culture, they consider taking care of their parents as a moral duty.

The housing shortage and high price on rent in certain city like LA, New York, DC and is discouraging people on getting their own place.

Like the title said, if someone is in their 30's and never had a long term relationship (longer than 2 years) would you still give them a chance or focus more on someone who had experience being with someone long term?

For those of you who submit Edits to Google when you notice something incorrect, do you ever go back and check the status of your edits, only to see they're still stuck as Pending?

I recently went back to check some edits I submitted for places I was trying to fix, and I realized that some of them are still in Pending status and it been months since I submitted the request lol

What has been your experience with using Yelp internationally? (I know Yelp is not popular internationally)

Since I have to travel a lot for my work, I seen the differences when going to different countries like Germany, Brazil, London, UK when it comes to how people write reviews. I also check the places I go to Google review too since Google is main place for reviews internationally. I'm a big contributor to the Google Map platform.

I have to go to Japan soon so can't wait to get that check in badge and check out some cool Ramen, sushi places.

I think this would be a interesting topic, do anyone integrate Yelp with Google, Facebook or Apple?

When I made my account, I just created mine to my email address. I don't like to connect different platforms together. I think it will make your account vulnerable especially when one of them gets compromise.

So I was reading one of my yelp friend review and I saw they give Coffee Bean 1 less star just because they charge them for iced water (it was like a dollar). Now is it fair for something like this for a business to have a 4 star review for just charging for iced water? I know there can be other things too like credit card fee, insurance or security fee at certain restaurants, only one bathroom and so on.

I always tell businesses on this subreddit or Google to never aim for having a 5 star rating, aim for being above like 4.2 or 4.3 star. But just want to hear if people think it's fair to dock a star or two for little things like this? It doesn't matter if they are a Yelp Elite or regular user or Google Local Guide ... I seen different people with those title dock a star or two for little things. But do you think it's fair?

Basically what I stated in the post topic and also if they seen your review. When you do or they do, do you ask your friends or family member directly about it? Also do you reach to it like voting Helpful or Oh No?

My siblings, friends family, friends and etc would see my review. They usually compliment me on my pictures and detailed review for a place or service.

Would it be a red flag if you found out that a guy has no friends for women?

Do you find tan lines attractive on women dating profile? This would only apply to light skin women since it's more noticable compared to darker skin. But if it's like night and day difference on a women pictures, I consider that a major turn off.

It's like for men where their face is more tan than around their eyes since they been wearing sunglasses all day, you can clearly see the difference.

Do you guys leave a reaction on reviews you read for a certain business? I mostly leave a reaction to reviews from people who are my friends. For businesses that I left a bad review for, if I see another person mentioning the same thing then I would vote helpful

Have anyone else experience their reviews or pictures getting removed months or years later for any reasons Yelp provided? I got an email from Yelp HQ that one of my pictures uploaded was removed due to violating their guideline. In the email, they didn't provide a link to the business, which is horrible especially if it's a like a franchise or have multiple locations.

I actually found the business page and compared it to my review on Google and saw the pictures that was removed was basically a photo in the lobby of a place where you see some other people faces and another picture of the entrance to an office so I think someone reported it. The photos was 5 years old, I'm not mad they removed it ... just surprise since it been years

So I get a lot of friends request from users who barely have any reviews or some who wrote 8 reviews but when I look at them, I see they listed themselves as located in San Francisco but all of their reviews so far have been for places in New York. They also only attach like one or two pictures and never check in.

I don't accept their request right away because I'm already suspicious and then go back a week later and see they haven't written any reviews since the friends request. I left one friend request pending for over 2 months and they still been inactive. So I'm going with they are a spam or fake account. Have any of you experience that too?

How do you feel about Google starting to heavily use their AI Gemini to now scan for patterns of review manipulation, fake accounts and incentivized feedback. I keep seeing anti Yelp users come on this subreddit to basically tell people to use Google because they don't filter or remove reviews but now in 2026, they are heavily using their AI to check reviews.

I seen on their Google Community Page and subreddit of business owner complaining that reviews they consider legit is being removed. Google does have a appeal process though but I don't know how fast or good they are on that. From the business owner posting, it seem like the appeal process is slow or not helpful. My experience with Google is that they are slow on responding to reports.
