Accommodation Choices

Just applied for accommodation at UoM and I lowkey regret having 2 of my options as non-en-suites , just wondering how likely it is that I end up getting those ones, is it completely based off of availability or will they prioritise en-suite options. Emailed Uni already and they told me to go on waitlist if i wanted change it.

Dream that I thought was real about Results day

I’ve recently been seeing all these posts about people dreaming about results day or just something related to that day and whilst they were interesting to read I never thought it would happen to me since I can’t even remember the last time I’ve actually had a dream.

Went to sleep last night like usual and then I remember “waking up” so vividly and it was results day ( subconsciously check fed my phone in the dream) and it was 7:30 , so I ended up jumping out of bed and immediately trying to get ready as fast as possible, and then I ended up in the school hall waiting for my results. I then out of habit went on my phone and then I had UCAS open and it had the green banner and the place has been confirmed , in which in my dream state I genuinely thought that this was real and I got in already and I was feeling genuine euphoria. I then decided to click on the screen and what snapped me out of the dream was that for some reason my Computer Science BsC course was called “computer science with Gaming and study about Captain Americas” or something across those lines 😭. That’s when the dream just started falling apart and I ended up waking up in genuine disappointment . Is this what A levels have done to people 💔.

Borderline considering filing a complaint regarding contextual admissions and my need to still obtain this contextual grade

Year 13 home student here who’s contextual (recognised by all my other choices including UCL). On the 25th of June I switched my insurance from UoM to KCL, but before I did this I asked KCL if I was able to do this and also if when I did this , they would also review my current offer, since it wasn’t given as contextual for some reason. They agreed and said that they can look into this once I receive permission from UCAS to switch my places. I managed to get permission and I successfully switched to KCL. After this I’ve decided to contact them again via Kings Apply regarding gaining my contextual grade , in which I’ve given letters confirming I was in receipt of FSM during my time in sixth form and stated elsewhere that my eligibility has been constant. They’ve then decided to just send a generic reply saying that because on my UCAS application the indicator wasn’t there on the National Pupil Database, they can’t but if they believe that this information is wrong I can use my referee to send proof. This was done, and as well as that I decided to contact UCAS directly about my contextual and they said that they aren’t able to change the UCAS application status but then told me that I should still be applicable for the contextual status if I send proof to KCL which I have. I’m not sure what to do and since this is my Insurance , this contextual grade is needed. Any advice is appreciated.

Need help, need to go london but may miss firm and insurance

Year 13 home student here and i’ve firmed UCL and recently changed my insurance from UoM to KCL recently to guarantee a place in london. Whilst i’m trying to stay optimistic I believe i’ve missed my UCL offer of needing an Astar A B due to the A star requirement in maths. KCL offer is Astar Astar A but it’s supposed to be AAA since i’m contextual but KCL Is being very stubborn with this even though I am eligible for contextual and UCL even recognised this.
I just need to be in london no matter what and i’d honestly wouldn’t mind going through go clearing for a decent Uni in london if I miss my offers. What do i do

KCL contextual not being acknowledged

Hi , I was a year 13 contextual student who is starting University sept 2026. I recently changed my Insurance choice to KCL in hopes of changing their offer of A\*A\*A to AAA via the contextual route , since I am eligible for contextual and all my 4 other options took that into account and gave me the contextual grade. However , KCL is failing to recognise my contextual eligibility and keeps referring to the new UCAS eligibility saying that there has to be proof of eligibility for FSM up until the last day of year 11 , which I did have. I’ve explained this to them via Kings Apply as well as providing proof of me currently being in the 16-19 bursary, however they keep referring to the UCAS National Pupil Database and saying that I’m not there, even though I still am a contextual applicant. If anyone knows a workaround to this please let me know since it is essential I get the lower grade requirements for this insurance choice. thank you

Post exam and parents

Been feeling bored and stressed after exams like many people are and I’ve been waiting till I turn 18 in a few days to use my trust fund to go out , not like crazy spending wise but just travelling especially to London and i’m from near Leeds. Problem is that I have brown parents so it’s genuinely so difficult to go out without them constantly asking about where and why and xyz and who i’m going with and for London time is the biggest problem bc trains are like 4 hours travel for there and 4 hours back. What do I do I really need to go london for certain reasons. Does anyone know any tips for just getting away with going places 🫩.

Can i change still?

Can I still change my Ucas Insurance choice , i initially picked manchesters offer of AAA , instead of KCL , because KCL were giving me A*A*A even though I am eligible for their AAA one through contextual but i just quickly wanted to make a choice so i decided not to properly get in contact to change it, so can i switch from manchester to KCL? and also change the offer requirement from A*A*A to AAA. It has been more than 14 days since I made my choice.

Realistically, how far do we think the Edexcel A level Maths A* boundary is dropping?

Last years grade boundary was at 86% , but this paper 1 felt completely different especially past Q8 in terms of accessibility , whilst I know I could have done better in some of those questions , not being able to do part b/c because of part a feels really limiting.

For someone who needs an A* for their Firm choice as well, that paper 1 I only got 70/100 which I think means I basically have to get 93+ on paper 2 and 3 if I want that A*?
