Too many cheap steam games = short attention span?

Games have gotten a lot cheaper. Do you remember how expensive genesis games were? Phantasy Star 2 was around $80. I think that’s over $160 if you adjust for inflation. Virtua Racing and Phantasy Star 4 were $100- which is over $200 adjusted for inflation. When games were that expensive, you only got a few per year. You made it work- no matter how hard or boring they were.
My kids regularly get steam games on sale for $5-$8. Oftentimes, they get bored after a few days and buy something else. I have a family sharing set up on steam with a few family / old friends. Together we have over 800 games. I bet almost all of them have less than one hour playtime recorded.

Here’s a few games that I actually played for more than five hours - xcom 2 - finished the game, mass effect 2 - finished the game. I was really looking forward to jagged alliance 3. JA2 was probably my favorite pc game of all time. But JA3 was missing something, I can’t tell you what exactly. At some point, I gave all my characters sniper rifles and it wasn’t fun anymore. Maybe I should have increased the difficulty. Older games were in some ways, more simple, but more fun. I still remember playing dragon warrior on nes and logging in long play sessions on Civilization 1.

Blood pressure is much better after GLP1 - Reta.

Male - 50’s. My BP was fine- until Covid. Then it gradually got worse until it was so high I don’t like to talk about it. Now it’s 110/67. That’s lower than it was before Covid.

And my blood sugar is better now. I don’t like sweet stuff as much as I used to. I can tell when the peptide wears off and my blood sugar crashes, because I get irritable.

I’ve also lost 25 pounds in about two months. I could probably lose 20 more, then I’ll have to reduce my dose to maintain weight.

Dual agonist vs triple agonist GLP1. Blood sugar regulation and other benefits.

I started out on Reta. Benefits included - blood sugar regulation, much better sleep, weight loss, and lower blood pressure. After losing twenty pounds, I was ready to try something different. I still need to lose twenty more pounds, but I’m not in a big hurry. I’m currently 200 pounds and 6’ tall.

Reta side effects -I was always constipated and weight loss stalled, despite a ridiculous calorie deficit. I switched to tirz. I was able to eat more and was having more frequent bowel movements. However, it didn’t regulate blood sugar as well and it didn’t help with insomnia as well. Keep in mind, I’ve had severe insomnia for over two years and I’ve tried everything aside from allopathic drugs.

So I’m sticking to low dose Reta- 2.5mg every five days or so.

Just ordered my first micro 4/3. OM System OM5.

After pricing telephoto zooms for my A7iii, I decided to pick up the OM5. Now I’m looking for the plastic fantastic 40-150mm zoom second hand. With the built in 2x digital zoom, I’ve got 600mm range in a 1.5lb package. The camera was partially purchased for my daughter who has taken an interest in bird photography. If I really like this body, I might just sell off my Sony stuff that’s just gathering dust. It’s just too bulky to carry around.

High BP from mold?

I always had low blood pressure. After moving to a moldy home, it switched to high BP. Anyone else had this issue? What was the remedy? Moving? We recently did another ERMI mold test. Score went down from really high red to almost green.

I’m in a calorie deficit, but I’m not losing weight.

Yesterday I had most of a slice of pizza, a little coffee, electrolyte drink, a few bites of steak and a little bit of noodles. Normally I would eat more than that in one meal and not gain weight. How is it possible for me to eat such a small amount of food and not lose weight?

Woke up feeling fine. Mowed the lawn. Then I ate an orange and an egg. Shortly afterwards, I was hit with this low energy/ lethargic feeling. Feel like laying down. 4 days since last dose. Two weeks total time on Reta.

Any idea what’s going on?
