So, I was about to make this user a Moderator of this sub...And this was his response to me. What should I do now?
If you want to get fucked, just say "fucketh" or Fucketh" in the comments. But whatever you do, don't say "navy seals" in the comments.
reddit.comThis sub is set to Restricted. If you want it, go to r/RedditRequest.
After you get the sub, make sure you go into modtools > general settings > privacy tab > community type set to Public
Also, go to old.reddit.com, Subreddit Settings, look for Content Filters...and change this.

ADMIN: I need some help in r/FoundTheJedi please. I need to add mods & remove mods. But I cannot because it has me marked Inactive--even though I am not & check the sub 7 days a week multiple times per day.
EDIT: ADMIN, can you send me a personal chat if you can help me out please.
ADMIN: Niche sub that gets one post per month....and just about all the posts are from me. I use the mod tools and notifications that Reddit gives us to mod the sub, but I still got marked inactive. Seems unfair to me considering how much time I've spent on this sub. Anyway, I need to add some mods and remove some. Can you help me? Or am I really going to have to go make some shit posts for a couple of weeks, remove them, approve them, remove them again?
MODERATOR WANTED. Well, it's been almost 7 years since I became a jedi when I created this sub. Now it's time to pass it on to a padawan.
This is a super niche sub, with almost no content to moderate. The spammers don't even use us :) There's only 1 mod que post every other month in this sub. I did all css and fancy emoji/icon stuff for Old and New Reddit. So the hard stuff is done. All you really have to do now is just when you stumble upon a relevant post on Reddit somewhere else, post it here (hopefully). If you understand the sub and want to use the Force for good, just let me know. I don't want to leave the sub without a mod who understands the sub and why it was created. Without a mod, the sub gets set to Restricted and then gets kicked to r/RedditRequest for some Acolyte. I'm telling you, Darth Malak, has been watching, waiting, and hoping to take over this subreddit. Only you can stop that from happening.
MOD WANTED It's been 8 years. I put in my time (and a shit load of posts) so it's time for another mod to take over. Please step up so the sub does not get Restricted & kicked to r/RedditRequest.
This sub was created almost 2 decades ago to offset all the hidebound rules in r/Funny. This was a niche sub created to give outliers a place to post and readers to see content they could not see on r/Funny. Well, over the years, r/Funny had to change its rules (and Reddit changed its algorithm a couple of times). So our sub did not grow as much nor was it needed as much. Thus, our sub became a sideline. But there are still 11,700 folks here. So hopefully one of you will step up and take over moderation so this sub does not get marked Restricted and kicked to r/RedditRequest.
I've banned only 5 people in the 8 years I've been here. There's not that much work. The hard work was all the posts I made here to try to keep the sub going. And, believe it or not, this sub gets only maybe one spam action a week. Even spammers ignore us :) No, there's not much work here. But if you take it over, you ought to hang around and check the mod que every day just to be sure nothing needs doing.
MOD WANTED It's been 8 years. Had some good posts here..one like every other month haha. But I put in my time (and a shit load of posts) so it's time for another mod to take over. If you understand the spirit of the sub, please step up so the sub does not get Restricted & kicked to r/RedditRequest.
In 8 years, I've banned only 16 users, and the last time I issued a ban was 5 years ago. There's really not that much work here. Most of the work posting the content myself, which you know I did only about once every other month. But that's what nice subs are. They get content every now and again.
What you do with the sub after I leave is your business. But hopefully you'll keep it a gif sub. Gifs are a thing of the past, but there's a good reason why some 12,000 people subscribed here. The spirit of the sub is in the sidebar, but here it is below so you can decide if you want to mod.
From The Sidebar
GIFs of highly awkward white girls or white girls in highly awkward situations. Note: this sub is not a catch-all for r_HoldMyCosmo. This is a niche sub with more specific parameters, so content won't be posted to it as often. This is a safe for work sub.
Two years ago I stepped up and volunteered so this sub could open back up. Now it's your turn. Anybody want to mod this sub so it does not have to be marked Restricted and end up with a 15 yr old mod who doesn't even have a job?
I have two brother in laws who run their own plumbing business. I personally have never fooled with it and the only thing I know how to work is a plunger. But 2 years ago I saw this sub just sitting there on the reddit administration section for "kicked out mods" due to the black out. I knew this was a good sub and the few people here like seeing the "every two months post". I knew there was no other sub like this super niche sub on Reddit. It actually made me feel bad that no one would step up to volunteer to moderate it. So I did.
Well, now it's your turn. This sub does not need much hands on. I mean, I've literally banned only one person in this sub since I've been here, and that was just 1 month ago. But it does need daily checking. There are no bad people posting here. But you know we get people posting here that don't take the time to understand the sub. They just see the sub title and think, 'hell yeah, I can post a question and get advice'. That's just reddit for you. Hell, if I saw the users here answering and making comments on some posts instead of complaining, I even let some posts like that stay up half a day before removing them. The sub needs some content and activity every now and again, you know.
There's 10,000 subscribers here at least. So there's got to be some of you who know a bit about modding and will step up so this sub does not get stuck with some teen-aged moderator who has never had a real job in his life. I hope this sub can get someone who is patient and who understands there is life outside reddit. There is a type of job that a certain type of person does every single day other than play on reddit. There's at least 10,500 of those people here in this super niche sub. They deserve an understanding moderator. So please step up soon so this sub does not get marked Restricted and kicked to r/RedditRequest.
On that note, don't forget....hot on the left, cold on the right, shit don't go up hill, and don't bite your nails!
It's been a long 6 years. But now it's time for someone else to step up. Yeah, this is a super niche sub. One post like every 6 months. But maybe you can make it something more special. So if anyone wants it, please reply. Otherwise it will be marked Restricted and left to r/RedditRequest.
Looking For Mod To Take Over This Sub. Almost Daily Spam Work Involved.
tldr: I've put in my time. I've done 4 years. Now it's time for someone else to step up. Please.
Howdy! The Memoir sub is the only one of it's kind on Reddit. It's a niche sub...super niche. I volunteered to get it opened back up because memoirs are a special type of writing. This sub gets submissions almost every day, but it has a very low participation rate regarding comments and normal users. Post submitters come and leave. They don't hang around. Usually on Reddit that's a big no-no. Those types of users don't care about your sub and will do nothing to help it. But that is the exact opposite philosophy for this sub. People are going to drop a link to their book, an Amazon link, or some other advertisement. But that's okay. I've never had to moderate one comment here because there's almost no comments. But it's not an advertising sub, per say, and was never intended to be. The votes and readers can decide for themselves what's right for viewing here. I removed posts that got below 0 points. And youtube and spotify links? Come on. There has to be a limit. I'm telling you this so you know what you are getting into. The work here is mostly spam. It's not fun. It's not rewarding. I did it because I knew it was needed and because every now and again you do get something that pops up you enjoyed reading or wanted to look into later. But I always knew the real purpose of this sub was to give new and young memoir writers a safe and moderated outlet.
So I hope someone will step up to keep the sub open. I really don't want to have it marked Restricted to keep it safe after I leave. Restricted means no one can submit any more. It means someone will have to request the sub in r/RedditRequest, and that could take forever before the sub opens up again. So if you're subscribed here (I have crowd control enabled, so I will know if you are and for how long) I hope you will step up and become a moderator here.
Are there any verified-mod Discord Groups? peer hangout rather than support focused?
During the old ModWorlds, I had a great time hanging out with other moderators in the Discord after the event — especially when u/Sodypop hosted that drawing game. It was a lot of fun being around people who understand the weird parts of being a reddit mod.
That was the first and last time I ever used Discord. Now I'm wanting to get back on it and I’m wondering: is there is an existing space where moderators can hang out....verified mods‑only, more of a peer hangout than a support channel, though.
Someone told me about something called ModCoord or something like that. But I have no idea how to find it.
...hoping to see a flair with "Admin Replied" :) Thank you.
edit also, BigSlay is having a mod event today. If you get any info by then, maybe you could pass it on to her to tell us.
