I’m planning a solo trip to Minneapolis to visit Paisley Park. Any hotel recommendations are welcome. I’m torn between the Lofton and Hewing but am open to others. Thx!

Getting strength back

My mother had a mild stroke in early April. Since then she feels weak most of the time. Everything else has improved. How long does weakness linger?
Is this normal? She is strong physically but feels “weak as water” sometimes. Can this be helped? She has started PT twice a week.

I’ll miss her

Late last year I agreed to keep a senior foster dog age 10 that nobody would adopt. She had a heart murmur, was deaf and cataracts. Eventually she was diagnosed with cushings disease but we never got her meds exactly right.

On Friday she didn’t eat and seemed very lethargic for a couple of days. She also didn’t drink much water on Friday. Saturday morning I took her in. They drew blood and did a scan. Her gallbladder was bad as were her liver numbers. She had a UTI too. They told me today was the day I’d lose her.

I was alone but the lady who knew me and Penny was there. I cried. Brought her home for several hours until she came to pick Penny up. At first I thought that was crazy. But today I recognized it was a good thing. I got to watch her be uncomfortable. If we had gone in days earlier when she was still eating a drinking the decision would’ve been much much heavier.

It was sad but one thing that’s helped me think through this is AI. One amazing line has made a difference for me…

You didn’t take away good days she still had.

Perhaps this will help someone else.

I don’t plan to get another dog or foster. But Penny was amazing and I’m glad to have had her in my life.

La Tia Paisa

We are here today and the food was divine! It’s traditional and family inspired Mexican food and it’s made to order. The ingredients were fresh and the food was hot. The birria tacos were the best I’ve locally. The restaurant is on green springs.

My mother had a mild stroke recently and has required my attention. I’m an only child with only senior relatives so the physical requirements are all mine. I’m so tired. It’s been a month and she’s recovering but my job…I’ve made so many mistakes. I wasn’t expecting this. I know I’m not a failure at my job but it feels like it right now. Has anyone had this experience?
