What’s something you spent years chasing before realizing you didn’t actually want it?

It’s strange how easy it is to spend years working toward something because you assume it’ll make you happy, successful, or fulfilled. Then you finally get close to it—or actually get it—and realize it wasn’t what you wanted at all.

Pre-Shot Routine

I’m a pretty good golfer (5 handicap), but I don’t really have a pre-shot routine. I basically just get behind the ball, pick a line, step up, and go. No waggles, no half-swings, nothing.

Anyone else like this? Would you recommend adding some sort of pre-shot routine, or is there no reason to mess with it if it works?

Balls

Do people really have a strong ball preference? I’m a 5 handicap with 118+ mph swing speed, and I’ve always just played whatever tour-level ball I could get.

But can good players actually tell a meaningful difference between similar balls? For example, something like a TP5x vs. a Chrome Tour X. How much does ball choice really matter at this level?

Blades

What’s your experience been since moving to blades?

I feel like blades have a stigma around being extremely unforgiving, but I’m curious what blade players think non-blade players get wrong about them.

What’s your argument for playing/recommending blades, and what type of player do you think should actually consider them?
