Should I play this game to fill the hole Starsand island left?

After the collosal disappointment that was the starsand island "1.0" release, is Palia something that I could get into if I'm looking for a new cozy game similar to what was expected?

Just be brutally honest about anything you dislike about the game. Or anything you like that you think is a standout point.

Some specific things I'm worried about:

-How f2p friendly Palia? From my understanding, only cosmetics are locked behind a pay wall, but are there still a fair amount of free items available? How pushy is the game to get you to buy stuff?

-Are the devs chill? Any controversies I should know about?

-How dependant on real world time is the game? Will I be locked out of some content if I'm only able to play at certain times of day? Do some things take real hours for processes to complete?

Not really worries but preferences:

-Are the characters interesting? Is there marriage and dating and stuff?

-Is the story interesting? If there is one.

-What are horses like? I enjoy having mounts I can get attached to in open world games. And I love horses, so if the horse mechanics are good, that's bonus points.

Refund request denied. Oh well.

Live and learn I guess, thats 40 dollars I'm never getting back.

I had around 10 hours in early access when I bought it on initial release. Above steams 2 hour refund policy, so it isn't a fault of steam. Just my poor financial decisions and hope for improvement.

I'm just making a post to vent my frustrations with the disappointing 1.0 release. I really want to force myself to like this game but I don't know if I can. Anyone wanna commiserate or have any tips to enjoy it anyway?

As someone who never buys books from Amazon and has been importing books from Calibre, is there a point to jailbreaking?

Asking retroactively since I already downloaded KoReader for the sake of it/to try it out, and I don't see the need to use a different UI if my books are already downloaded and I don't mind the look of the default UI.

Am I missing or misunderstanding something? I know all my books I send to my Kindle via Calibre are converted to azw3 format instead of whatever they originally were since it's the only format kindle suppourts, does that mean amazon still has control over them even if they were downloaded to the device? I have them backed up on my pc anyway, but it would be an inconvenience if they disappeared or I was unable to access them from my Kindle.

TLDR: I dislike Amazon on principal and want to use KoReader, but It'd be a hassle to convert and re learn everything again. Sell me on KoReader or educate me if I'm misunderstanding something.

What is your approach to authenticity and how does it reflect in your type?

Everyone assumes 3s are the fakest of the enneagram, but as someone who's definitely not a 3, I refuse to believe there are people out there who are 100% authentic all the time.

By authenticity, I mean how much of your real personality do you let show to who and why or why not? And what defines the real you?

Me personally I do the "accidaintilly used personality A with group B" thing a lot, and it gets exhausting but what else am I supposed to, not overthink everything I say and do because I'm afraid of being known? Everybody does that that's normal healthy behaviour, and anyone who says otherwise is lying.

What are the "Now Playing" notifications??

I just got a notification at the top of the screen where championships normally show up that said "Now Playing Funniest Thing NOMI"...? I'm confusion.

Can other 9s talk about their motivations for "sloth" and what it means to them?

I've always understood sloth in the context of the enneagram doesn't mean literal laziness, but more of a general apathy and unwillingness to take action.

I'm asking other perspectives because, for me, sloth and peacekeeping have always been in opposition. I feel the opposite of at peace when trying to ignore personal problems, but I still try to before doing anything productive if anything productive gets done at all.

There's a lot of reasons why, but the most prevalent and pathetic one is I'll hesitate to do anything unless I think it'll be absolutely perfect. But at the same time, perfection doesn't exist. Therefore, nothing gets done. A chronic case of 'what's the point'-itis combined with crippling fear of failure and rejection. The symptoms are mostly just a lot of self-loathing and anxiety. Not fun.

I'm wondering if this is something I can contextualize with being a 9, some other type, or if I should just slap myself real hard and get my shit together.

"Are you a good person" is one of those dumb kinda meaningless questions, but I'm always interested by how people interpret it.

I'm curious how someones enneagram type would influence their response. And I'm bored. So if you want, answer any or all of the following. Please leave your type in the comment if it isn't in your flair.

-Do you consider yourself a good person?

-What makes someone a good person?

-Do you want to be(by your standards or otherwise)a good person? Why or why not?
