Do you have any New Ideas for a Twists or Advantages or any old ones you want to return for the Open Era?
Okay quick background this is for a video that I'm working on that should be out in the next month or two. Where I am making a wish list of what I would like to see in the next seasons of Survivor and I would like some of your ideas and I will credit you if I like your example (please say if you would like to be anonymous). Now please as much as I hate to say it please be realistic so no saying longer game or new locations as production unfortunately is locked in at Fiji for 26 days besides that I am open to any ideas for old Advantages/Twists or any new ones you have come up with in your minds or even if there are any you want scrapped I just want to see the communities opinions so I have more to go off of than my own ideas.
Thank You :D
(Low effort) Adrian Monk is one of the best tragic protagonists of all time
Okay so Monk the detective series from the early 2000s has a masterclass protagonist in Adrain Monk, who is a ex police officer turned detective after the death of his wife Trudy. Now what makes him truly unique is after his wife died Monks OCD increased as well as development of PTSD both increasing his long list of phobias. Now you may ask so how is he a detective and the answer is it’s because he can’t help himself he notices any slightly off detail in a need to make sure everything is organized and tidy. Though these quirks help his work it still annoys his assistant and colleagues as it makes him organize any non crime seen areas and beg for a wipe when anything could be considered dirty. There is also the fact that due to being a ex police officer when needed he will get over his fears to save the day and be able to keep a running pace, use weapons and fighting techniques.
The show using all of this info does its best to show that he is a sympathetic person as said before his wife’s murder is the one case he can’t solve (it gets solved in the finale of course) and she was one of the few people that truly understood and loved him. Monk had an absent father and emotionally distant mother which caused a majority of his issues. But the most sympathetic thing about him is that he understands that he can be a issue there re multiple times where he has to ask someone to pull him away from something because he can’t stop it, which fully completes the character for me.
Monk is so well, written because he knows that he is broken and has all of these issues but he simply can’t fix them due to his trauma. This makes the more dramatic episodes so good especially when faced with adversaries that know something about his wife or more importantly messed with them, for example Dale the Whale made Trudy’s life suck before her death. Making Monk step out of his normal personality and get a little more cocky when he beats them due to his love for his wife, another great example is when Monk visits the man who supposedly killed his wife he turns off the morphine before turning it back on for Trudy. Monk despite being broken uses his abilities and what he believes Trudy would want to go out and make the world a better place by solving the cases he can to catch the killers he can to make up for the fact that he can’t solve his wife’s murder which is such a good tragic character and no one ever brings him up in discussions.
Thanks for reading my midnight rant
Entire account dedicated to dog hate
Like I’m fine if you don’t like dogs or cats or whatever, but it makes me so angry and sad to see people dedicate so much time to hating on them like you really don’t have anything better you could be doing.
In Among Is 2026 they actually made a show out of a game that was popular for like 6 months 5 years ago, this is because…. Guys it’s been 5 years since quarantine what happened?
In Rally Caps (2024) a family sends a traumatized kid who does not want to play baseball to baseball camp, after his father who was great at baseball died. This is because I watched this movie when I got heat stroke on a cruise and somehow it was the only interesting thing on the cruddy tv stations.
Who would win this final 3
I mean they all look like first boots right?
I created a Balatro addict
So for Christmas this past year I got my dad an Xbox with gamepass and told him to try out Balatro, first couple days he asked me for tipis or ideas, a week later he told me about the strategies he watched and read about, two weeks later he gets it on his phone and now he plays it wherever he goes, like whenever we are resting somewhere I will see him pull out Balatro and play it even when we are watching TV instead of doing work he is Balatroing. This is the most addicted he has been to a game since he got Stardew Valley and beat it multiple time on his phone (I think he is a legend for that). I am scared to look at his hours because over 2 years I got 500, and I feel like he is going to surpass me soon if not already,I have created a monster.
Gamoverse fails as a Pilot and we need to stop ignoring criticisms of indie shows
Okay bear with me this might be a long one, to start no hate on creators for putting their wonderful time and effort into these shows I respect that so much as someone who wants to be a screenwriter. However Gamoverse fails as a pilot as in the first few minutes we meet Gobbles now the context to why Kit and Koboodle have Gobbles isn’t given in the pilot it’s in the trailer. This frustrates me as a pilot is supposed to introduce the concept of the show and the characters that the audience is expected to follow with a little background explaining why and how. It can’t be a pilot if a crucial story detail that effects the series is shown in the trailer, the pilot could of been Kit and Kaboodle trying to prevent Gobbles from completing his game interdicting us to these 3 characters and their aspects and personalities. Continuing on we get way too much backstory for Kit that should be saved for later episodes and not all revealed right away you need to keep your cards hidden when telling a story, and get us interested in a character before revealing all of their lore. If you wait it makes a much more interesting story waiting for new information to be given to us the audience. This pilot felt like an episode one not a Pilot which is fine but then it should be called Gamoverse Episode 1 on YouTube and not the pilot as it is not one.
To continue we need to stop getting mad whenever anything indie gets criticized, because to improve requires being told what sucks. So don’t die on a hill for it also though I already have seen online this toxic culture that surrounds all indie shows of “guys people are hating on this” when most of it is constructive criticism or someone explaining why the show is just not for them. Like I’ll point out that some of its humor seems trapped in the hellscape that was 2010s lol wacky gamer humor, which as someone who grew up during that time period I personally think it felt dated, but I understand the show is a full fledged series based off of a web series from that time period. I also disliked the credits as they felt I’ll be it in a lesser way like The Mario Movies or Ready Player One in the sense of pop culture reference makes brain go I know that, and seeing people post about how they recognize it = good. Like I get it’s a show based off f video games but I feel something slightly more creative could have been used.
Though my final thought also comes from the credits in the fact that they immediately advertised merch, and Glitch’s whole thing of buy merch to make sure show is made. This makes me so angry because you are a studio you should not be implying if people don’t immediately buy products from a “pilot” that the show will not be made, I also just don’t like how with all of the recent pilots that they had a billion pieces of merch lock and loaded to go. It feels like that it’s less about the pilot or episode and more about making money from products. I think all of this ties into the antic criticizing in the fandom spaces due to the fact that Glitch somewhat weaponizes fan interest, to keep production of these series up. Causing any criticism good or bad to be viewed as hate which just puts a bad taste in my mouth.
Overall the first episode was like a 6.5-7/10
Thanks for reading my rant about this show, please do not drag any fan service discussion into this because I find it cringe yes attractive protagonist look attractive in swimsuit it has no story effect on the show it lowkey does not matter and is terrible criticism.
