Mower wont start

Yesterday my roommate tried to mow the lawn but it was very damp and humid. He got a little done and the mower just stopped.

Now we cant get it to start normally.

In the video I took off the air filter and it seems to start and run for a little but then it spits out some liquid and stops eventually.

I have cleaned the air filter but that didnt qork, it wouldnt even go if the cover was on but as soon as I take both that and the fulter off it does start like in the video.

I am not savvy with mowers but figured its worth seeing if anyone knows why its not starting.

Its been good the rest of the season and last year we switched tp ethanol free gas because other gas was gumming up the carburetor leading to us needing to get it cleaned.

If this is something we can fix without a professional I wouldn't know where to start.

Any help is appreciated.

Thoughts as a new PSE

I recently left Walmart to work at a post office as a PSE SSDA in a city 20 miles away from me which isn't a bad commute. I had orientation at the end of June and so far am in my training window.

Its a lot of stuff to learn but I'm getting the hang of it, everyone in my office is really nice and they are all super happy to have the help and say I'm picking it up quickly. The days also don't feel stressful, obviously there's a lot to learn and do, but compared to Walmart its a lot less hectic.

Right now it looks like I average 32 hours, but everyone else says I should see 40 easy, I imagine its because I'm new and they are easing me into everything before piling on more hours (at least I hope so, the other PSE is getting 6 day weeks so I see no reason why I wont see more hours)

I understand not every office is the same but I lucked out it seems, heck my first day shadowing the postmaster was on the floor the whole day and I just thought she was a really nice supervisor, didn't even think it was the freaking postmaster.

Just wanted to talk about it since I've posted before about concerns and questions when I got the job offer.

Not sure what plan to go with (still waiting out as much of the 90 days as possible)

Hi,

Like a lot of people coming here now and in the coming days/weeks I was on SAVE until that got axed. Currently I am gonna wait as far into the 90 days I have (I got my notice from MOHELA) before I switch off SAVE to save myself a little money with the time I have.

I recently switched jobs from full time at Walmart to working for the post office, Its actually a big move for me but so far it looks like its gonna be better financially for me and I think it actually lets me qualify for PSLF.

Looking at my options the RAP has the lowest payment on the calculator with $89 monthly payments. My loans technically qualify for PAYE but that's $98 a month and IBR is $147 a month.

At face value, RAP is the choice for lowest payments right now and if my new USPS job qualifies me for PSLF it may be the best choice since I could still earn forgiveness in 10 years instead of 30. But I wanted to see what other people think.

I know my situation isn't going to be exactly the same as another persons but I figured there are people out there who can at least offer some advice. Currently I'm leaning towards the RAP even if I'm not thrilled with it because its being forced down people's throats by the big ugly bill.

Finally promoting to customer, should I cash out my PTO manually?

So after 4 years of working as a cap 2 associate I started to feel burned out and overworked so I started putting in applications to try and get away from Walmart.

Surprisingly I got a job offer for the post office in a nearby city. Its pays $21.44/hr which is significantly more than I make at Walmart, and I got hired under Covid era pay and never left so im making a little more than $17/hr.

The job isnt technically full time but can be wirking 6 days a week and get 40+ hours depending on office needs, but im hoping that they work me enough since its a city office. I just needed something to get out.

My last day is the 24th of this month and orientation for USPS is on the 29th.

Should i put in pto to cash it out so I see it asap?

what are new PSE SSDA hours like?

I made a post a few days ago about being offered a conditional job offer as a SSDA.

I currently work full time at Walmart for around $17/hr and the SSDA position pays a good deal more at $21.40/hr

I read that PSE SSDA wont guarantee 40+hrs a week but the amount varies, I've seen people say that they will work you a lot and its common to see over 40 hours a week, and some say they hardly see any hours.

My assumption is that it varies by post office due to the size and if its rural, local, or city post office. The one I got the offer for is a city post office in a small city with a population near 30k.

I went and did my fingerprints and I talked to the post master, they seem nice, building is nice. I also asked one of the other PSEs who has been there about a year that was working what their hours look like and she told me she regularly gets 50+ hours a week outside of peak season.

I'm hoping this ends up being a good change for me, because I'm burnt out at Walmart and under payed for the amount of crap I have to do. I don't expect the post office to be perfect but anything seems better than retail.

My pulls from Chaos Rising Release

I picked up a bunch of Chaos Rising on release from my LGS at pretty good prices. Ended up with a Booster Box, ETB, Booster Bundle, 3 Pack Blister, and 5 sleeved boosters. I also stopped by my Walmart on the way home and picked up 5 additional sleeved boosters for a total of 64 packs of Chaos Rising.

I no longer need to open chaos Rising because I think my luck peaked.

The SIR and first Gold Greninja where in the 5 sleeved packs from Walmart. 2nd Gold was in my booster box alongside the AZ SIR. The Cinccino was in the ETB.

From what i've seen the pull rates arent actually better than the other Mega Evolution era sets, but Chaos Rising treated me really good!

Any Navy Federal employees have insights?

I am currently in the process for potentially working for Navy Federal through the contractor Tential in Winchester, for reference I live in Front royal and work at Walmart right now.

Walmart has been sucking out my soul in addition to the department I work being physically demanding. I figure I have nothing to lose trying to do something different like a call center, and I fully understand its not all sunshine and rainbows but I see mixed experiences with Navy Federal.

Anyone worked there or currently working there know what its like? Is there a good chance of converting from Temp to Full employee in the call center? I hear the benefits are good if you do but Walmart does have pretty good benefits too, its just that I really cant take it with my team being understaffed and overworked in a physically demanding job, it kills both my physical and mental health and I feel like sitting at a desk all day taking calls is preferable to what I do now. It also helps that it pays more.

Cap 2 burnout

So I work Cap 2 and our trucks range from like 1800-3400, the usual is in the 2000s with some outliers like the very rare 16k or less trucks. Recently our team has been losing people and our more experienced team lead got fired after an internal investigation (never got a concrete reason and never will since they cant say and its all hearsay and rumors).

Since then we finally have 2 team leads again, one tries their best and is as helpful as they can be, and the other one is still learning and getting a feel for the role but I guess its better than not having a 2nd team lead. But overall our team is hurting for people, with team leads all together our team is 12 people but one of our better throwers for truck is already on his way out so its basically 11 people now.

Management hasn't been able to hire on new people because a month and a half ago now both overnight coaches left/went on LOA and aren't coming back and some overnight team leads either quit or got fired. So our Cap 2 coach has to work nights but without them they where not working on hiring us new people.

Now apparently according to our store manager they have figured out a way to get us a lot more people, they have told our TLs and others that they want Cap 2 to have 10+ people daily when right now we average 4-6 not including TL. Because we are supposed to be able to unload the GM truck and do Frozen Dairy and unload and down stack grocery remix, refill water and stock paper, pets, and chem. They expect Cap 2 to do so much work and they have us waste an hour every day to do a 2pm zone that does nothing because its just gonna be a mess shortly after we go back to start unloading.

Anyway, latest news is they have 2 different daytime coaches working on hiring people for our department which is great but right now we struggle and trucks can be done anywhere from 5pm to as late as 8pm depending on staffing numbers, which bay its in and truck size obviously.

I am currently having problems disconnecting from work because of all the stress so I am gonna start therapy using the mental health benefits offered through the company since I am so stressed these days.

I need the job but not the stress and I guess I made this post just to vent and get some sort of comradery from others who also go through this kind of BS.
