Toshiba vs WD vs Seagate
Hello, everyone. I was wondering if someone could help me choose a portable hard drive.
I've owned a Toshiba Canvio 4TB for a long time, perhaps for over 4 years, and I never had an issue with it aside from its sensitive plugging (any small movement makes it disconnect). Only recently I started hearing small ticking sounds (I hope this isn't too dangerous!)
I mainly use it for long-term storage and I don't frequently run it, and that's why I'm going for HDD. Also I can't afford SSD anyway.
I now want to buy a new one but I'm very conflicted about these:
Toshiba Canvio Basics/Advance 4TB
WD elements
Segate One Touch
Seagate Basic
But I always hear that Seagate has high fail rate and I see more complaints from this brand than the other two. However, I saw some people recommend it because Seagate uses a "detachable USB bridge" and that makes it easier for data recovery? But I'm clueless about all of this.
I tend to trust Toshiba more but I wanted to hear the experts' opinions and what brand do you receive issues from the most?
