Playhub Metadata 1.4.0 - The biggest update ever is now available

Now the circle is complete.

Playhub Metadata is now able to visually transform a non-Steam game into a Steam game with:

  • Full working Activity page, with official Steam post coming from the developers (news, updates, hotfix, events, and so on). And you can also add non-Steam game activity to your home screen in the "What's New" section alongside your official Steam games.
  • Your stuff page that integrate XBOX Achievements and RetroAchievements;
  • Community page with contents coming from IGN, YouTube and RAWG;
  • Game info page with all the metadata you need (description, developer, publisher, release date, features).

This is a giant step in integrating non-Steam games. Now I will seriously rest guys.

Here's the usual What's Changed lines:

What’s Changed

  • Added a full native Steam Activity section for non-Steam games, Playhub Metadata now tries to match games with Steam events and show them directly in the Steam game activity tab.
  • Added support for multiple Steam activity/event types:
    • Minor Update / Patch Notes
    • Regular Update
    • Major Update
    • DLC Release
    • Loot Event
    • Perks Event
    • Challenge Event
    • News
    • In-Game Event
  • Added native Steam news/event opening, activities open using Steam’s own event viewer.
  • Added Show activities in Home, allowing Playhub Metadata activities from non-Steam games to appear inside Steam’s Home What’s New section.
  • Added Home activity controls:
    • Number of games in Home slider, from 1 to 6.
    • Most recent, to restore Steam-like recent ordering.
    • Shuffle, to refresh the Home selection with different games.
  • Added per-game Steam Activity Metadata controls, allowing you to refetch or remove the Steam activity association for a specific non-Steam game.
  • Added source icons for Community content:
    • YouTube content now uses a YouTube icon.
    • IGN content now uses an IGN icon.
    • RAWG content now uses a RAWG icon.

Improvements

  • Removed automatic background activity refreshes while browsing Steam, activities are now updated manually through the dedicated Update activities button.
  • Improved activity refresh feedback, the plugin now shows which game is currently being updated.
  • Improved background task feedback, notifications are now shown when background activity updates start.
  • Improved Xbox achievement progress sync feedback, background progress synchronization now shows a notification when it starts.
  • Replaced the previous achievement display with a cleaner unlock-based view, achievements are now shown in descending unlock order and more achievements are visible at once.

Playhub Plugin - Launch Curtain 1.5.0

It's time to update Launch Curtain!
Be sure update it in the Playhub Plugin Store on Playhub or manually download the zip and install it with developer mode from Decky.

Here's the last release

"Wait what is Playhub?!"
Please check the project repository here to find all the details.

What’s new

  • Improved Launch Curtain stability while games are starting, the curtain now stays more consistently above splash screens, launchers, helper windows and short-lived PowerShell windows.
  • Reduced tiny startup flashes that could appear while temporary game windows opened or closed behind the curtain.
  • Improved the native Windows overlay behavior without changing how games are detected, launched or closed.

Improvements

  • The curtain no longer briefly drops and re-raises its topmost state to stay above other windows.
  • The overlay now uses a more stable Windows topmost refresh method, helping it remain visually consistent during noisy PC launch moments.
  • Steam Big Picture focus recovery from the previous working build is preserved, so controller input should still return correctly after quitting a game.

Playhub | A new Windows app to streamline HTPC setups with Decky and Steam

Hey everyone.

I wanted to share a project I have been working on called Playhub. It is a native WinUI application designed to make running a Windows PC in the living room a bit more seamless, mimicking a console experience without losing desktop flexibility. I just released version 1.1.1 and I am pretty excited to finally put it out there.

The tool manages DeckyLoader on Windows from a single interface, handling developer mode toggles and version updates without needing PowerShell commands. You get full access to the official Decky store for things like CSS Loader, Tab Master, SteamGridDB, and many others, plus my own curated plugins that are built for Windows. Once installed, in Steam Big Picture, just press CTRL+2 on your keyboard or Home+B on your controller to open the Decky menu (just remember to disable the Xbox Game Bar so it does not steal your Home button input).

It also includes a Gaming Mode that boots the PC directly into Steam Big Picture, keeping the standard desktop out of sight. Additionally, Playhub parses and imports Xbox app, Game Pass, Microsoft Store games and local EXE into Steam as shortcuts with their proper artwork.

You can also backup your Steam artworks library, and even download the Playhub CSS Loader theme profile directly from the settings. The code is completely open source and the program is totally free. I built all this for myself and I just want to share it with the world.

You can download Playhub here: https://github.com/LoZazaMastro/Playhub

Nuvio loads metadata really slowly in collections

Hello,

I've got a problem, when I navigate inside a specific collection (any collection, doesn't matter what) the metadata loading doesn't appear for all the movies/series. Sometimes it shows logos and description, sometimes not, only posters are shown correctly. If I try anyway to open any movie/series that hasn't still loaded the metadata, it usually takes about a minute to load the page to just visualise the streaming options. Anyone else is facing the same problem?

I'm using Nuvio 0.7.9-beta on Android TV Nvidia Shield. I've only got cinemeta and opensubtitles V3 (and another one, if you know you know). I don't have debrid.

I tried to uninstall and install:

- the add-ons

- the collections

- the entire app

I tried to:

- use one add-on only (cinemeta or aiometadata)

- use one collection to see if it was a massive load problem

- delete cache

- force close the app from the app settings

The same thing happens also on my Pixel 6 Pro with the Android Phone version of Nuvio, and on my LG C3 with the ipk of the last version available.

Movies and series outside collection don't have this kind of problems.

Playhub 1.0.1 is available now!

That was quick! 1.0.1 is already out.

Honestly, with any brand new app the first little while is just ironing out small stuff, and you all helped a ton catching things.

This one is mostly Gaming Mode getting fixed. Switching modes now works like it should, settings save on their own, and uninstalling Playhub cleans up Gaming Mode too which is a thing I didn't think about before. Plus, the Playhub CSS Loader theme is built right into the app now and works properly.

If you're on 1.0.0 the app will ping you about the update. Just download the new version from the releases page here and run the installer again (you will see 1.0.1).

Thanks a lot for the feedback, keep it coming.

Cheers!

Meet Playhub | The new Windows app for DeckyLoader, plugins, Gaming Mode, and Xbox Game Pass

Playhub version 1.1.1 is available here!

This is the project I've been working on for a long time. A bit nervous, very excited to finally put it out there.

You already know the Playhub plugins. Well, now there's the app they were always meant to live in.

Playhub isn't just a Decky installer. The idea is to turn every Windows PC into a console.

For as long as it's existed, DeckyLoader has basically been a Linux and Steam Deck thing. On Windows it was always looked at with suspicion, like it didn't really belong there or wasn't safe to touch. Playhub changes that.

DeckyLoader is a big part of it, but it also gives you a proper Gaming Mode, brings your Xbox and Game Pass games into Steam, and pulls everything together in one native app. No scripts, no messing with Decky developer mode, no dragging zip files around.

Here's what it does:

  • Installs DeckyLoader | Let you check status, enable Developer Mode, install, update or remove the build you want, all from one page.
  • Plugin Store with one-click install / update / uninstall for the Playhub plugins (Launch Curtain, Now Playing, Playhub Metadata, ThemeDeck, Weather, TrailerHero, Quick Settings, Playhub Surround). No manual side-loading.
  • Gaming Mode | (IMPORTANT: INSTALL THE COMPANION PLUGIN) Boot straight into Steam Big Picture like a console, and jump back to the desktop whenever you want. (The gaming mode plugin that you find in the Gaming Mode page is required to exit from Game Mode, install it!)
  • Import your Xbox, Game Pass and Microsoft Store games into Steam as real shortcuts, with the right artwork.
  • In Settings you can install the Playhub CSS Loader theme, backup / restore your Steam artworks library, and personalize the app.

Plus you can access the DeckyLoader official store and have access to all the plugins catalog (TabMaster, CSS Loader and much more)

To access to DeckyLoader once in Steam Big Picture just press CTRL+2 on your keyboard or Home + B on your gamepad.

It's free and open source.

Honestly, going from editing config files and running scripts to just opening an app and pressing Install still feels a little unreal. This started as a couple of plugins and a stubborn idea, and seeing it turn into something anyone can download and use means a lot to me.

To everyone who tried the plugins and kept pushing me to keep going, thank you, really.

Download the last release here or take a look at the Playhub Github repository

This is the initial release, so future updates will fix any bugs that arise.

Playhub Metadata now supports Xbox PC / Game Pass achievements

This is the update I’ve been wanting to make for a long time.

Playhub Metadata can now show Xbox PC / Game Pass achievements directly inside Steam Big Picture for non-Steam games added through UWPHook.

That means your Xbox PC achievements can appear in Steam’s native achievement interface, with progress sync through OpenXBL, alongside the metadata tools Playhub already had.

For setup:

  1. Create an account on https://xbl.io
  2. Open your OpenXBL dashboard
  3. Copy your API key
  4. Paste it into Playhub Metadata
  5. Press Login, then scan Xbox achievements

This is still a community plugin and Xbox/OpenXBL API limits apply, so scans are intentionally conservative. But seeing Xbox PC achievements living inside Big Picture honestly feels like something that was science fiction until today.

If you use Game Pass / Xbox PC games through Steam Big Picture, this one is for you.

You can find the latest release here:

Cheers!

I'm back, and so are the Playhub plugins

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share a very important update about me and Playhub.

After a pretty difficult situation, I had to delete my old Reddit and GitHub profile. It was honestly painful, because a lot of work, experiments, ideas, and pieces of the Playhub journey were suddenly gone.

But thanks to the help of some amazing people from Reddit, Discord, and the community, I was able to recover part of the material and start rebuilding everything from scratch.

I’m also feeling much better now. The whole situation was stressful and overwhelming, but I finally feel ready to move forward.

For obvious reasons, I also had to slightly change my names moving forward:

  • My new GitHub profile is now LoZazaMastro
  • My new Reddit username is now ZazaMastroll

So if you previously knew me as ZazaMastro, don't worry: it's still me, just with new accounts.

My new GitHub profile is here:

https://github.com/LoZazaMastro

The first repositories are now back online:

  • Playhub Metadata
  • Metadata scraping for non-Steam games, RetroAchievements support, and community-style content for non-Steam games.
  • Launch Curtain
  • A console-like launch screen for games, designed to make the transition from Steam Big Picture to the game feel smoother and more polished.
  • Gaming Mode
  • A Windows gaming mode project focused on processes, boot behavior, mouse hiding, borderless window management, and a more console-like experience.
  • Now Playing
  • An audio player integrated into the Quick Access Menu, with support for compatible Windows media players and a fullscreen visualizer.
  • Quick Settings
  • A Decky Loader plugin for quick Windows controls directly from the Quick Access Menu.
  • ThemeDeck Windows
  • A Windows-focused fork of ThemeDeck, bringing game soundtracks, audio atmosphere, and additional media features to the Decky experience.
  • TrailerHero
  • Game trailers directly inside the Steam Big Picture / Decky experience.
  • Weather
  • A simple weather plugin for the Quick Access Menu.

I really want again to thank everyone who stayed close, helped, shared files, searched through old builds, sent me backups, or simply gave me support when I needed it.

This community is the reason why I wanted to come back immediately instead of giving up.

Please remember: always help each other and be kind.

Stay tuned!

ZazaMastro here

Hello everyone,

Last week the company I work for was hacked and I was forced to shutdown some of my accounts due to constant unauthorized access.

Firstly I want to thank all the people who have shown me their affection, which fortunately are the majority.

I've noticed that in my absence, someone has come up with some fantastic lies, like that my posts were flagged as spam by Reddit, or that the plugins I developed, my work, and my efforts were unsafe or dangerous. This is disgusting and shameful beyond belief. The thing that saddens me most about all this is that after all the stress, anxiety, and panic attacks of the past week, I find myself with some veiled attacks on myself after all the effort I've put in.

This community needs support, sharing, altruism, and being better even with AI devs and non-Linux users.

I'll start over slowly. Luckily, I managed to at least recover Launch Curtain.

If anyone has a zip file or folder of one of my plugins saved somewhere, it would be a huge help to share it so I can start from a good base so I can start over.

Thank you so and I hope this will be just a bad memory.
