A new Playhub update is available.
What's New
- Added Playhub integration editors. Now from Import Games you can select Info on a game and edit Playhub Metadata, ThemeDeck, TrailerHero, and Launch Curtain (complete with Curtain editor), directly in the Playhub app in order to have everything ready once you land in Big Picture.
- In Import Games, if you select Artwork on a game, you can search from multiple sources, not only SteamGridDB, but also PlayStation Store, Xbox Store, Nintendo e-Shop, IGDB, IGN, Steam, AlphaCoders, and iiDB.
- In Import Games, if you select Artwork on a game, under the Banner tab you can access the Perfect Banner editor.
- In Import Games, if you select Artwork on a game, under the Hero tab you can access the Perfect Hero editor.

- Reduced Gaming Mode background work and improved optional installation and removal.

Playhub 2.0.0 is finally available
The biggest Playhub update ever is finally available. Playhub 2.0.0 brings a host of new features. The new Playhub plugin is the center of your everyday experience: it includes Quick Settings and Shortcuts, no longer separate plugins but built right in, and the Plugin Store that brings together every plugin from Playhub, the Decky Store and independent projects on GitHub. Decky itself is now available through Playhub too, with its own tab in the plugin.
The Home screen now also features daily news from major gaming sites in every supported language, along with On this day, an exclusive and beautiful section dedicated to the history of gaming (available in English, Italian, French, Spanish, German, Portuguese, Russian and Ukrainian).
Switching from Gaming Mode to Desktop Mode, and back, no longer requires restarting your device. There are also two new Playhub screensavers for Steam, Playhub Circles and one from the latest TrailerHero update, along with new animations and new customization options. The code has been cleaned up, and the Playhub Dashboard and Steam's Quick Access Menu are more reliable in Gaming Mode. The Playhub profile for CSS Loader has been updated, and a new one has been created specifically for Steam's new Big Image mode.
What's new
The new Playhub plugin
- The first time you open Playhub 2.0.0, a welcome tour shows you what's new with animations and short explanations, one tab at a time.
- Quick Settings and Shortcuts are now part of the Playhub plugin. Your existing Quick Settings profiles are imported automatically.
- Added a dedicated Playhub tab to Steam's Quick Access Menu, organized into Control Center, Plugin Store, Video, Audio, Graphics, Controller and Decky, plus Settings.
- Control Center: open the Dashboard, switch between Gaming Mode and Desktop Mode, and choose which mode your PC starts in.
- Plugin Store: discover, install and update plugins without leaving the Quick Access Menu.
- Video: adjust brightness, resolution and refresh rate, with HDR controls where supported.
- Audio: adjust output and microphone volume and switch devices.
- Graphics: Lossless Scaling and the Radeon features available on your GPU, with per-game profiles in each game's options.
- Controller: see the connected controller and setup the navigation feedback in Steam Big Picture.
- Decky: for the first time, Decky is part of the Playhub plugin and moves into its own Playhub tab. You can bring its shortcut back to the Quick Access Menu at any time from Settings.
- Settings: reorder or hide tabs, choose what appears on the Home screen, check device information and create diagnostic reports for every Playhub plugin and for Gaming Mode.
- Shortcuts: in Settings, choose the order, visibility and icons of Steam's own Quick Access tabs and plugin shortcuts.
A Home screen with something interesting to discover
- On this day: Playhub replaces advertising with gaming culture. Steam's Recommended tab on the Home screen, full of ads, gives way to the history of video games, one story a day, all year round. Each story is about a game, a person or a studio that shaped gaming history, with its date and year and editorial images. Press X and Y to move back and forth between dates and read the stories of the days before and after. Do you have the game of the day? Just click on the first card to go directly to the game page and play it!
- Gaming news: headlines from your country's major gaming publications, right on your Home screen, with images and links. Each article opens in Steam's built-in browser, for a reading experience that never leaves Steam. News updates automatically, in real time, every time the tab refreshes.
The Playhub Plugin Store, now in Big Picture
- Discover plugins from Playhub, the Decky Store and independent projects on GitHub, all in one catalog, then browse, install, update and uninstall them from your controller, without leaving Steam.
- Every plugin has its own page with description, screenshots and release notes.
- Filter by source or installed plugins, sort by name, release or last update, and switch between list and grid views.
- Update everything at once with Update All.
Gaming Mode and Big Picture
- Switch from Gaming Mode to Desktop Mode, and back, without restarting your device.
- Gaming Mode now has its own animation at startup and when switching modes. Choose a custom color, then adjust hue, saturation, black level and opacity, with a live preview.
- Date in Steam's top bar: today's date now appears next to the clock, in the format you prefer. You can turn it on or off in Settings.
- Added two Playhub screensavers for Steam. Playhub Circles shows soft, moving circles with the time, the date and, if you use the Weather plugin, the current forecast. The second one comes from the latest TrailerHero update.
- Added Restart in Gaming Mode and Restart in Desktop Mode to Steam's power menu.
Steam version backup
- Steam version backup: save the Steam version you're using now and restore it if an update causes problems. Playhub closes Steam automatically before backing it up or restoring it, and turns on Block Steam updates as soon as you restore.
Import Games
- Added a cover format option: keep classic vertical covers or switch to square covers, as in Playhub Artworks.
Improvements
- Settings have been reorganized: Language comes first, Steam updates sit just above troubleshooting, and Update Playhub comes right before About.
- Updated the Playhub profile for CSS Loader and added Playhub (Big Image Mode), a new profile for Steam's Big Image mode.
- The Playhub Dashboard has a refreshed look and opens faster and more reliably.
- Cleaned up the code and improved the reliability of Steam's Quick Access Menu in Gaming Mode.
- One support report now includes Decky logs as well, ready to share.
Fixes
- Fixed a black screen with sound only when turning on the TV or monitor after starting the PC in Gaming Mode with the display off. This should also solve many black screen issues with game streaming tools such as Vibepollo.
- Fixed Steam artwork backup and restore freezing the app during large copies.
- Removed a PowerShell pattern that could trigger false antivirus warnings when Windows starts.
- Fixed double scrolling in Settings > About.
You can update to 2.0.0 downloading the installer from Github right here (the update from Playhub 1.3.0 is not allowed since the new installer exceeds 1 GB, it's been fixed in 2.0.0).

Did you ever wanted to put your plugins in the Quick Access Menu (QAM) without the need to open Decky, selecting the plugin and going crazy doing that every time you want to navigate to it?
So here comes Shortcuts, a simple plugin that change your daily QAM usage.
Put your plugins where you need them
Shortcuts brings compatible Decky plugin panels directly into the main Quick Access Menu tab bar. Your original Decky entries stay untouched, while the panels you choose become immediately available beside Steam's native tabs.
Cool tip
You can hide the plugins you pinned in Shortcuts from the Decky plugin settings to avoid any double entry! In this way you should have the plugins that you use the most directly available from the QAM and the others all listed as always in Decky.
Make the QAM yours
- Add any loaded Decky plugin.
- Reorder the tabs created by Shortcuts.
- Remove a shortcut.
- Use the plugin's original icon or choose from the bundled Tabler icon library.
Add and customise shortcuts with 6184 icons available
Open Shortcuts in Decky and select a compatible plugin from the available list. Select an active plugin's name to choose its icon, then use the controls below it to change its position or remove the shortcut.
There are infinite possibilities, with 6184 icons available, a search bar to find the icon you need in a glimpse and categories to help you navigate through this massive library of symbols, logos, signs, numbers, letters, emoticons, and so on.

I just wanted to make a post to thank all of you
As you know, almost a year ago I embarked on the crazy journey of creating an ecosystem that would bring Decky and all its plugins over to Windows, and now, it's actually happening.
Beyond Playhub itself, I've seen an incredible explosion of ideas both inside and outside the Decky team. I’ve had the chance to meet wonderful persons like u/santojon and most recently u/FinFanFandangle, who are building amazing projects like DeckShelves and Nexus Mods, as well as kind people like u/Diligent_Dream_4667 who helped spread the word about Playhub through videos and reposts.
For all of this, I just wanted to say thank you from the bottom of my heart.

The Playhub Plugin Store now brings together Playhub plugins, Decky Store plugins and the known independent projects from GitHub. You can browse, install, update and remove them from the same app, with a badge showing where each plugin comes from.
The new home has a rotating showcase and categories with a fresh selection at each launch. Open a category to see everything in it, or go straight to All Plugins and narrow the collection by source, name or date.
Each plugin has its own page with screenshots, videos, the original description and available release notes. You can switch between a compact list and a grid, and Playhub remembers your choice separately for each category, All Plugins and Manage. Search and filters in Manage apply to the plugins you have installed.

Decky Store plugins and independent GitHub projects are not guaranteed to work on Windows. Their pages in the Plugin Store make this clear and point you to the original developer for support. Just try them first, but don't expect every single plugin will work.

Spotify and YouTube Music now keep more of their previously loaded content ready between sessions. Home and Library reopen sooner, and large collections load progressively while Play All and Shuffle still use the full library.
Spotify also recovers when the audio output changes or becomes unavailable. This addresses silent starts where the track looked like it was playing but no sound reached the speakers. Old library results no longer return after refreshing, disconnecting or changing accounts.

Spotify also recovers when the audio output changes or becomes unavailable. This addresses silent starts where the track looked like it was playing but no sound reached the speakers. Old library results no longer return after refreshing, disconnecting or changing accounts.

Playhub Notifications 1.2.0 is now available
Hello everyone!
A new update for Playhub Notifications is now available.
This release is about correctness. Three separate user reports turned out to share a single cause inside the plugin, and that cause is gone.

Fixes
- Fixed the phantom "Dota 2 installed" notifications appearing repeatedly after every game installation or update. While inspecting Steam's notification descriptor, the plugin was calling the descriptor's own fnTest handler, which is Steam's internal "preview this notification" action; for downloads it is hardcoded to Dota 2 (app 570). The descriptor is now read as data and never invoked.
- Fixed bursts of Friend Online notifications for random friends, including friends who were offline. The same fnTest handler, on the friend notification type, asks Steam to fire a test notification for a randomly chosen entry from the entire friends list.
- Fixed those injected notifications ending up in Steam's real notification history. Steam fills its notification tray before it asks whether to show a toast, so every fake event was written into the genuine history. With the cause removed, the history holds real events again.
- Fixed the feedback loop the fake notifications created: each one came back through the plugin, which triggered another, filling the notification queue in a fraction of a second. The collected logs show over 850 dropped notifications in a single burst. This also covers the reports of Steam becoming unstable while unlocking achievements.
- Fixed the image lookup used for achievement artwork, which could execute arbitrary zero-argument methods on Steam objects while searching for a picture. It now reads plain values and calls only known protobuf accessors whose name refers to an image.
You can update it directly in the Playhub Plugin Store in the Playhub app, or download the zip from the release page and install it via Decky dev mode.

Playhub reporting and project health
Create an issue on the right Github page with all the details
If you want to report a bug, please create an issue on the Github page of the plugin involved or, if it's for the Playhub app or Playhub Gaming Mode, on the Playhub Github page. Do not write on Reddit the problem and just write a simple title in the issues on Github. Describe the problem! Remember, only one person (me) is handling this. Please help me to remain sane and work in the best possible way.
Always provide the logs
Logs can be found in C:\Users\%USERPROFILE%\homebrew\logs\"the-plugin-you-want" Just attach those logs in the Github issue when you open it. To find the Playhub app logs you need to open Playhub and go in Settings > Need a hand? > Create Diagnostic Report. Then just attach that file to the issue.

Playhub 1.2.0 is now available, together with Launch Curtain 2.5.0, Playhub Notifications 1.1.0, News 1.0.0, Proton VPN 1.0.0 and ThemeDeck 3.3.2.
This update gives Gaming Mode its own controller-first alternative to CTRL + ALT + DEL, Task Manager and WIN + TAB Task Viewer, brings the new iiDB Soundbites to Launch Curtain, and adds three completely new plugins to the Playhub Plugin Store.
🧊 Playhub 1.2.0
Introducing Playhub Dashboard
Playhub Dashboard is Playhub's answer to one of the most awkward parts of using Windows with a controller.
It brings the jobs normally split between CTRL + ALT + DEL, Task Manager and ALT + TAB into one console-style interface designed for the gamepad. Open it with CTRL + ALT + P from Steam or while a game is running, then handle your Windows session without reaching for a mouse or returning to the desktop.
Here you can view all your active windows, select or close them.
Dashboard lets you:
- Switch between active games and Windows apps, bringing the selected window directly to the foreground.
- Add desktop programs and Windows apps as favorites.
- Rename favorites and launch them without returning to the desktop.
- View CPU, GPU, memory, network and disk activity.
- Inspect running processes and close an app that is no longer responding.
- Restart Decky Loader with confirmation.
Games use their Steam artwork when available, while regular apps keep their familiar icons. Four-direction navigation, clear focus states and quick animations make it feel like part of a console interface instead of a desktop utility.
Add your favourite apps in order to open them whenever you want also in Gaming Mode.
The update also improves the return to Steam after a game closes. Big Picture now receives real controller focus again, including the visible selection feedback that was sometimes missing before.
A growing Plugin Store
Playhub Notifications, News and Proton VPN are now available directly from the Playhub Plugin Store. A new Support page has also been added for anyone who would like to help the project through Ko-fi. As always, Playhub was, is and will be free and open source.

Launch Curtain can now give every game its own launch sound.
A Soundbite is a short jingle that plays while the curtain is visible, making the transition into a game feel much closer to a real console startup.
Soundbites reminds the good old GameCube, Wii and Wii U times.
You can:
- Search and download Soundbites from the iiSU Database.
- Import a local audio file for any game.
- Set a different volume for each game.
- Adjust every Soundbite together with one master volume control.
- Automatically assign missing Soundbites to installed games.
- Exclude individual games from automatic assignment.
- See which games have a Soundbite and which ones are still missing one.
Soundbites stay synchronized with the curtain, so the game handoff still feels smooth whether the jingle or the game finishes loading first.
Launch Curtain 2.5.0 also adds iiDB Assets, SteamGridDB Heroes, safer bulk tools and stricter protection for existing curtains. Automatic downloads never overwrite an image you already selected.

Playhub Notifications gives Big Picture notifications a new visual and audio identity while keeping Steam's original notification history intact.
It includes seven animated themes inspired by Xbox, PlayStation, GOG Galaxy, Epic Games Launcher, Nintendo, Android and Playhub. Achievement notifications can use their real artwork, every notification category can have its own duration, and volume can be adjusted from 0% to 200%.
The overlay is visual only. It does not take focus or intercept controller, keyboard or mouse input while you play.

This update makes Spotify playback more independent and resilient, fixes the FaultyRequest(INVALID_CREDENTIALS) error, extends surround upmix sound to Spotify, and smooths out source changes across the entire plugin.

What’s new
- Spotify surround upmix now supports 5.1 and 7.1 output with the same per-speaker controls available for local music and YouTube Music.
Improvements
- Spotify playback services now recover automatically after startup and authenticate in the background when the saved account can be reused.
- YouTube Music skips unavailable tracks instead of leaving playback stuck.
- Surround settings now update Spotify’s integrated mixer live, without stopping, reloading or losing the position of the current track.
- The LFE channel uses a restrained 120 Hz low-pass mix with additional headroom, preventing bass from being redistributed excessively across the main speakers.
- Stereo and surround playback now share consistent headroom, avoiding sudden volume jumps when Spotify upmix is enabled or disabled.
- Source ownership is stricter, so Spotify no longer takes control while local music or YouTube Music is selected.
- Runtime checks now guard Spotify API polling, helper ownership, source isolation and live surround updates.

- Fixed Spotify occasionally failing to start until Restart plugin services was pressed.
- Fixed Spotify taking over playback controls while another source was active.
- Fixed broken YouTube Music items blocking the rest of the queue.
